We can agree it wasn't

no

the dust hasn't settled either, people still universally see this as pixar's weakest film

I can't. Even though it certainly pushes the envelope on certain visual aspects, the clash between those backgrounds the gumby tier main character just diminishes both aspects

the plot and characters themselves are certainly not earning gold stars either

it sucked.
the dino was cool though.
kid was annoying.

Good? No. Underwhelming? Yes.

>premise of what if dinosaurs got another 65 million years of time on Earth
>the best they can manage with this is "humans are dogs lol"

God this was such a boring ass movie.

No, Pixar hasn't made a good movie since Up, stop trying to apologize for their medicore utterly forgettable trash.

this movie literally killed my family

I liked it.
The themes of severe anxiety were really relatable to me.
I even have a plushie of Arlo.

No, it isn't.
It's a blatant western movie disguised as a coming of age movie disguised as a "what if dinosaurs weren't extint and us humans were still savage-like".

Also the main cast sucked except for Arlo, and the whole movie was underwhelming to say the least.

So fuck you and go fall off a horse, asshole.

It was a good dinosaur, sure, but not a movie? Not so much.

Second weakest after Ts4

There was supposed to be a dinosaur agrarian society than just the farming apatosaurus and the ranching t-rexes that was cut, a lot of the appeal to the story's setting was removed and it ended up feeling like a boring tech demo on photorealistic environments that Pixar could make

Up was shit

I made this complaint last time we had a thread on this but god fucking damn the world feels fucking deserted and despite being so dangerous, BORING

>the dust hasn't settled either, people still universally see this as pixar's weakest film
If there's a universal opinion and nothing really to discuss, wouldn't that mean the dust has settled?

I refused to see this movie based on the fucking stupid looking dinosaur designs alone

Who thought this was a good idea?

elaborate

Unlike some movies that change radically from initial to final concept, this project wound up going through the ringer and came out the other side basically a skeleton conceptually. It was nothing but a graphics demo

>blatant western movie
And?

>arlo_the_absolute_madman.jpg

And they kept hinting at a larger dinosaur world with the ranchers suggesting Arlo find a watering hole that could very well be a dinosaur town or that story about fighting outlaw Stegosaurs.

It's still the only animated film I saw in the theater I walked out on to watch something else.

Sorry, bro. I heard the Angela Anaconda short in front of the Digimon movie did the same thing.

What is that.

>ended up feeling like a boring tech demo on photorealistic environments that Pixar could make
Well that's what you get when you replace the director with someone who's only credits before this was environmental design.

No, it's Pixar's most boring movie.
You can tell it went through development hell.

>almost 4 years for dust to "settle"
hehheh...

Just my opinion but I'd rank it down there with 'Coco' but the tripping balls scene I thought was hilarious. I never would've expected Pixar to do that. The stegosaurus or whatever it was, had the creepiest looks about it. I found it's eyes jarring and it gave me chicken-skin just looking at him.
