His whole motivation this episode was the out the lake-pisser so they could be humiliated and laughed at, and in the end everyone's left pretty much on the same square so he didn't suffer that bad

Personally, I find it kind of cathartic after having to put up with him for 3 seasons.

It was pretty underwhelming, about what an episode would be if someone were more concerned with writing their fetish into an episode.

I hope we get an episode setting the two of them up for a lot of romantic tension and it keeps just nearly missing them getting to hook up officially right up until the climax of the episode when they confirm 100% their feelings for each other are a friendly rivalry and they have 0 interest in one another romantically because the RT staff know about the shipping and would be very likely to toss fan pairings into the trash.

That’s the best way I’ve seen someone describe Max and Nikki’s relationship. Her chewing him out in season 3 is still a great moment as well as their whole subplot in the dance episode.
