The media exists to find what is best at grabbing attention which translates to money. Hearst made up a war for this very sake over 100 years ago. And it has worked flawlessly over and over and over since that time. You can see it in clickbait and outrage videos. People get sucked in and they react before they can think. If one news network favors people that think a certain way, then it's obviously a good business decision to create a network that caters to those that think the opposite. Think a news source that aligns with your views would never lie or stretch the truth is like thinking a business genuinely wants you to save money and cares about you.
