I'm thinking of reading this. I've only seen one page, but it seems that they completely miss the point. Is it really all that bad?

read it and find out, its not a huge fucking commitment reading ten issues

It’s ok for a normal comic. Just don’t expect it to be the 2nd Watchmen. Or expect it to honor or respect Watchmen in any way.

If it did it wouldn’t exist in the first place.

If the idea of Geoff Johns awkwardly attempting to be the Nearest Mexican Equivalent of Alan Moore sounds entertaining to you, go for it.
The art is bretty gud.
And you're only reading pirate scans, and your time is valueless.
Anything else you want permission to do?

Yeah-it's really disappointing but some is so-bad-its-kinda-good, and there's some nice art throughout, a few interesting sequences, but mostly frustratingly bad writing

It's a fine mystery story. If you think that Watchmen is a sacred golden cow that must never be fucked with, you won't like it.
It's biggest problems are that Johns is trying to ape Moore's writing style, but unlike Moore doesn't seem to have much to say about comics. So it's a lot of style but little substance. And the book has been plagued with really terrible delays, so they've stretched reader's patience thin with where the mystery is going.

Lots of dropped plot points here and there that aren't really well explained but it is readable. Last issue was one of the best out of the lot.

>If the idea of Geoff Johns awkwardly attempting to be the Nearest Mexican Equivalent of Alan Moore sounds entertaining to you, go for it.

Actually that does sound entertaining when you put it like that.

It's not a fine "mystery" story by any stretch of the imagination. What's even the mystery?

How something this bland and rote and inconsequential to future DC stories got so far behind schedule?

You're not wrong, the BTS car crash quality has been intriguing to follow

The mystery is why the Watchmen characters are in the DC universe and what the fuck they're doing now that they're there. It's not much of a mystery any more since it's been explained as "they teleported here, and now they're dicking around with the timeline because of reasons".

Does anyone care that Reggie is back next issue?

Just read it....
It's "okay", but it mostlty feels like a big missed opportunity to do something special.

At this point I'm convinced Mime and Marionette (the only subplot with a pulse) should have been the protagonists and the watchmen/DC story should have unfolded around them like Kingdom Come/Marvels

Mime and Marionette were too good for this comic. Hoping they get some sort of mini or feature heavily in Three Jokers.

They seem a bit too super-humaney for the Watchmen Universe, wherein they have no previous appearances.
They come off as villains from Superman's universe that Johns wanted to "update", and were shoehorned into Moore's universe to make people care about them.
Can't say it worked for me.

Clearly worked for Jokerfags tho.
What a shock.

If you really like Watchmen you’ll hate this.

It takes Manhattan’s realisation of life’s emotional value and shits on it. Takes the ambiguity of who was right and wrong between Rorschach and Ozy and shits on it.

They’ve even got a new character with superpowers from their universe, and we still haven’t been told how or why he was never mentioned alongside Manhattan.

It’s the very archetype of ‘soulless cash grab’

It even takes the core premise of Manhattan's "My life has already unfolded, I am compelled to act out the scenes that already exist to me" and turns him into a clown who meddles in the timestream. Because DC didn't have enough characters meddling in their fucking timestream.

It's really not enjoyable at all. Chore to read, nothing to seemingly care about, doesn't seem like it's going to matter for all that much.

The delays kill it too. There's been what, two started and completed events since this came out? I don't follow DC a ton, but it seems like that's where we are.

Don’t forget the Comedian being ressurected. All the gigantic mess over how much a single, flawed human life is valued thrown to the sides because DC wanted a surprise cameo.

Nobody cares about it now that it is non-canon.

He should've been forgotten about for a while and came back as a Batman villain. Was kind of hoping he'd wind up being Arkham Knight.

I remember the hype and analysis threads. If only I could go back and warn them

Darkseid you fool! I warned you what would happen if I ever saw you on Yea Forums again. Explain yourself!

Alright, I'll read it. The worst that can happen is I end up liking it more than the original, which sounds elseworldish already.

I heard this happened but holy shit doesn't that fuck with like, the last two year's worth of DC stories? Or is it just Rebirth, Button, and Doomsday Clock non-canon now?

DC continuity isn't even a bad joke anymore.
Nothing of value is lost.

These people definitely read comic books and aren't at all outrage fags.
