If this is the best episode then we have a long way to go.
I love half of the villain's voices in this show, just like I love half of the soundtrack and half of the writing. This is indeed the epitome of wasted potential. It's actually a decent action show, but it's missing its other half to make it full. The shitty designs and lack of budget especially fuck it up in the long run.
I'll never understand how Butch Hartman/Nick got ahold of such amazing award-winning voice actors for the villains. They must have costed an arm and a leg.
it's a great special. Good writers, good sequences, and good setups. But it all goes down from there

Ultimate Enemy should had been the shows finale, if only we knew how bad thing would get after the main writer left the show.
Isaiah Evans
Wasn't the whole mess a paradox?
Thomas Evans
Holy SHIT Robert Eric's voice is pure sex. Say all you want about the man's filmography, but when you book Eric Roberts, you GET Eric Roberts.
Lucas Price
Butch Hartman always had weird connections in the VA circuit. He managed to pull talent like David Carridine, Mark Hamill, Martin Mull, Taylor Lautner, and Brian Cox to the booth for his projects.
>I'll never understand how Butch Hartman/Nick got ahold of such amazing award-winning voice actors for the villains. They must have costed an arm and a leg. The rumors are that Butch hired expensive actors behind the Nick executive's backs.
Aaron Morris
Yeah, but if it was the finale, we wouldn't have gotten the episodes after it. And there were some good episodes. What really should have happened was Dan should've come back as the final boss for the real finale, not an asteroid.
Robert Jackson
So I read somewhere, Butch spent most of the series's budget on The Ultimate Enemy by promoting the heck out of it and getting it a video game too. I'm assuming some of that money went to hiring the talented voice actors too.
Steve Marmel wanted Dan to be the series last episode's villain, but he got thrown out of the team by the time the third season rolled around and it left Butch crapping out a bad finale.
Xavier Moore
Hearing Eric Roberts out of young Danny was pure sex. It suddenly made all the other voices pure cringe to listen to. God imagine all the characters in the show having that mature eloquent voice.
Andrew Gray
Multiverse.

>Butch Hartman always had weird connections in the VA circuit. NEVER underestimate this kind of shit. of course people have to be paid for work, but simple friendly connections can get big people involved in relatively small productions, especially when you hold the trust of the executives (which butch did)
While I appreciate the fact Danny didn't go nuts over a retarded CAT test considering he's a super hero and his father is a genius ... I still fucking hated that the reason he turned evil is because him and his uncle's ghost combined into 1.
Also felt fanfic-tier dark. Parents die so he asks uncle Vlad to remove his humanity, but his ghost side is retarded enough to merge with Vlad's ghost and kill Danny's body.
Landon Howard
I legit didn't know the show continued after that. I'm shook to find that out all these years later
Jayden Morales
I wish we had gotten more Dark Danny screentime, especially messing around with his friends.
I feel like Sam and Jazz had the most natural dialogue when together because they're 2 fully aware secondary characters. It's too bad they spend so little time together.
Grayson Campbell
Dark Danny was fucking hot
Logan Cook
You didn't miss much. Steve Marmel and Butchman disagreed over what direction to take the show. Steve wanted to go more towards action. Butch wanted to make it more comedy. With the already successful Fairly Odd Parents still going on, Nickelodeon sided with Hartman. character arcs dropped off the face of the earth, ghosts were no longer dead people, and Marmel left.
No, it's more like he asked Vlad to either take his powers away since he caused the accident, or to remove the memory of the accident. What neither of them expected was that it was an even split and Danny's ghost half would have all the aggression and grief, as well as it's own salience and fuse with Vlad's half. I mean think about it like this, you ask the guy who was your enemy for the longest time, who took you in when you lost everything to get rid of the trauma since your a teenager that not even fighting ghosts could get rid of the emotional pain. He makes a device that in theory could do it. He literally stabs you with it which must've been painful as fuck and the next thing you know? You wake up as your ghost self and see your body still on the operating table. For all intents and purposes, it wouldn't be hard to think that cheese loving, football team owning son of a bitch just KILLED YOU and you want revenge.
