Because no one has done it yet so here it is.
Hawkman #13 Storytime
Somehow this book is better received than GL. It’s pretty good, but not that good.
Really like how every incarnation of Hawkman is now canon.
It’s a shame that we haven’t seen any incarnation of Katar that is remotely non-human looking. Or maybe that artist is just incompetent.
And he dies, again.
And again and again and again.
So how many Hawkmen are there in total?
Infinte numbers.
Where are they now?
Time and space. Every Hawkman is one guy reborn across time and space.
Based on the last issues, millions. The cycle will only stops only when he had paid his debt, saving as much people as he killed.
And some of his life he didn’t save anybody like these lives being a soldier.
Finally, goddamn
Shouldn't have taken a year to get here but here we are
This issue really reminds me of The Forever War novel - about an intergalactic war that went on for millions of years because of a simple miscommunication.
I remember it even had a graphic novel adaptation.
This is like that trench war moment where British and German soldiers made peace and played Football during Christmas right? Or am I misremembering things?
And that’s it folks! What do you guys think of it.
I personally enjoying it so far. Too bad that based on sale numbers and the attention it received here it’s gonna get cancelled soon.
That actually happened. One of the only beautiful moments in that shitshow of a war.
I think libshits don't understand war in the slightest.
I think that maybe if Venditti had wrapped up Deathbringers at 8 issues and started doing one and done Highlander-style issues like this this book maybe wouldn't be staring down the barrel
manly tears
We had a dragon last issue
Intrested in reading hawkman what do you guys recommend?
Hawkworld. Shadow war. Zero Hour stuff. Johns run.
Liberals are really boogeymen for you now huh?
>Because no one has done it
And there is a reason for that
WAR, HUH, GOOD GOD
WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
>dude, like, why do people even go to war
>lol dunno
Yeah, thats about as libshit as it gets.
You could at least have them going "THOSE FUCKERS, OUR SHIT".
>$100 has been deposited in your NRA Call of Duty College Fund
>"GUYS! WAR!"
>But guys... What if... NOT war??"
And then everybody clapped.
>$100 has been withdrawn from your NRA Call of Duty College Fund
Based boomer poster.
Well he's going up against one of his classic foes again next issue.
>Well he's going up against one of his classic foes
"The inability to have a consistent origin story"-Man?
Does Shadow Thief have the same powers as The Shade?
On a much smaller scale.
Imagine being such a sheltered reactionary that you cheer on for the senseless brutality of war.
Oh look, its a /leftypol/ tranny who thinks imperialism doesnt count when commiecucks try it.
It reminds me of 80s sci-fi stories that you could find in 2000 AD or Heavy Metal.
I think you should kill yourself, you worthless waste of natural resources.
Waitaminute, does that mechanical body mean Carter was a robot in his previous life?
>natural resources
One of the many reasons people go to war.
Why? Recently the ammount of storytime threads has been dropping quite drastically and I really don't know why.
This endless cycle of Life and Death actually reminds of a young animal title called eternity girl, of a lonely soul trapped knowing that Death doesn't offer any reprieve and is just the turning of the wheel.
>I really don't know why
It's because of Shitposters like him.
Because 99% of storytimes are just big two capeshittery, which hasn't been worth reading in almost a decade now.
See shitposters.
I hate current libtards but war is hell, man.
Most smaller storytime aside from radlib shit and capeshit doesn't even get any traction at all.
Yes, it is.
Thats why "LOL dunno even y were fightan" is fucking awful writing. Most people would not choose to spend their days chewing on MRE's in a trench getting shot at for shits and giggles. It's simplistically stupid, on par with "LOL y isnt everything FREE?"
>Somehow this book is better received than GL. It’s pretty good, but not that good.
Morrison's GL seems like it would be more at home at 2000AD.
>Most people would not choose to spend their days chewing on MRE's in a trench getting shot at for shits and giggles
They don't choose that shit in the first place. They're ordered to go there. Most people don't join the army out of some moral sense of ideological superiority. The people who ask "Why are we fighting?" the most are the fucking soldiers themselves.
Based fucking retard.
Well Hawkman continues to be one of the best books DC is putting out.
A proposal?
That was pretty good. I think I'll go back and read the other issues.
We are all hawkman
Then where's my hawkgirl waifu and cool wing suit?
JSA: The Golden Age
JSA: Return of Hawkman
JSA by Johns
I love this book, wish it could break out like Immortal Hulk did, it and Green Lantern are easily DC's best right now.
Hawkworld. First the miniseries, then the ongoing. Don't waste time, do it now!
It's an elseworld but gonna throw in Legend of the Hawkman, it's a great destilation of the Silver Age Hawkman in a more modern Context IMO.
To be honest I could never see this book doing better than like between 18-30k consistently. I think it's been ranging 18-20k as of late which isn't cancelation at least.
How many variations on the names Carter and Katar will they be able to come up with?
Still don’t get why Hulk’s so highly rated though.
It's because Hulk smiles a lot and it's scary to manbabies.
Interesting take on a character that's really needed it and brings in a horror angle that's been largely absent and has been getting a lot of people hooked. Zombies have always been a popular thing in comics and maybe someone will bring back other horror elements.
Interesting take maybe, but not really horror. Immortal hulk is threatening, but most of the time he only brings pain and agony to shitty people who deserve it in the first place.
He’s as scary as Spawn, which mean edgy but not scary at all.
Cool issue. Hopefully the series lasts long enough for more one-offs like this.
I'd say there's been at least a few moments of really solid body horror. Plus, that immortal dude Hulk left at the bottom of a hole that he sealed up was a pretty horrific end.
Thank you for storytiming this.
I was afraid Yea Forums had already stopped caring about this book.
But I just got interested in it today!
