Predict Owl house's future. Will it be good, bad or somewhere between?

Man, I'm starting to get tired of these dark magic settings with witches, demons, goths and stuff. There's been an awful lot of these lately. So far I'm not really excited and the premiere is still so far away.

90% Watered down wacky hijinx with the same tropes and cliches that plagued this decade that leans back on 10% potential lore and a bigger plot at hand, which is mostly fan theories that aren’t delivered upon and the endgame ends up disappointing everybody. Also surprise gays

I want some real horror in kids cartoons for once. Shit, the Rugrats pilot is scarier than anything in Gravity Falls or Star Vs. Play with camera angles, have some weird creepy music or voice acting that unsettles you. Do more than just drawing horns or evil smiles on generic monsters, you fucks.

They advertise it as "horror-comedy", whatever that means. The question is whether this combo is going to be funny and/or scary.

It means it's going to be like Bunnicula or Hotel Transylvania where it's a typical kids cartoon but it has monsters, ghouls, and skeletons. It's not actually scary, it's just horror themed like set pieces.

There's a high chance of it being mediocre, like a Victor and Valentino with only minimal attention due to Yea Forums's obsession with porn and females. People tend to forget that the main thing that kept Star vs and Voltron on the fandom radar was shipping since their lore game wasn't the most unique. SU had the virtue of a relatively unexplored alien species to keep people attached to its lore and the multitude of females was just a bonus (and it probably mattered more that the gems were Homestuck troll levels of customizable for ocs rather than porn/shipping bait).

This doesn't seem to have either; despite the average Yea Forums degenerate a non-yaoi old person teacher/young student dynamic is not the biggest shipping draw. Since the MC is female without a male secondary lead the chances that this show will have a harem of males for her to oggle (or females for the male to oggle over) over is minimal. Disney is likely not going to allow lesbian love triangles or let gay romance go beyond Korra levels of prevalent either.

As for the lore, it could be at least be Star levels of intriguing but I don't expect it to go beyond typical and tired fantasy medieval tripe. The fact that many of the designs seem ripped from other cartoons/anime doesn't bode well for it's world building originality which some could argue is a big factor in what gets people interested in lore in the first place. They could go political and ethical intrigue route instead like GOT but 1, it's a kids show, 2 the world does not seem to have polarizing forces (Gems vs earth, mewmans vs monsters, etc). Knowing the creator any discrimination of groups or political shit will be a one off episode or done too bluntly in 'very special episode' format to make a statement than explore an ideology.

This likely means that it will be SOL magical adventure with a toss up of a unifying big bad behind it but that does not a good show or big fandom make.

Honestly it's not the character designs that Yea Forums's talking about; it's an ungodly mix of Yea Forums being weird over the fact that the creator's Alex Hirsch's girlfriend and one of the directors was used as a scapegoat for what Yea Forums didn't like about the later star vs seasons that's got Yea Forums being weird over the show
