and was that meant to be Barry Allen Flash?
I thinnk they should've gone the original Big 7 route first.
No big deal, least he ain’t John
But John is best lantern.
Not even close, anyone growing up with the DCAU knew he was the boring one. Hal’s the all star
Best at being irrelevant. John is all about MUH KATMA, MUH XANSHI and MUH RINES now and even the first two have started going away for the most part. Johns best years are way behind him.
John peaked in the early 90's and has been stuck as "the serious one nobody wants to write" since then.
Reminder that Johns was against the GL pitch with John as a veteran, Kyle as a rookie and Jordan as a Fallen hero/parallax
the show has plagued DC for years. There's normies who won't give Hal the time of day because they think John is the only GL.
it's messed up and why brand consistency is important
>the shitty decision maker makes shitty decisions
Meanwhile water is still wet.
Oh salty halfags, you could not be easier to bait.
But seriously, John is best lantern.
>raynerfags
Nah, for me it goes
Hal > Guy > Jessica > Simon > John > Kyle
The only fags are the ones spout character bias when all the Earth Lanterns have had their fair share of good and bad stories.. Get out of the casual zone and give Mosaic a read.
>t. someone who has read more Lantern than you
Thankfully it’s fading by now.
This plus Manhunter is the best roster imo.
>What could have been
green arrow, supergirl and vixen have better design in the show
At least we can all agree no one has had a worse time in non-media exposure than Simon Baz.
Don’t forget that female Cyborg that was in the pilot that never aired. Can we make her a fotm?
Yeah, still not sure what’s up with that. Baz is alright
What’s Baz’s “hook”?
God are there no decent images of Femborg?
It was the gun, kinda like Jack T Chance in a way. Also likes his costume. At least until Batman made him stop.
Hal is only good as comic relief. Outside of that he's the least interesting GL, all of them are better. It baffles me why so many people like him so much. At least with Barry they added some personality and backstory when they revived him to make hm less boring. But Hal has been dull as shit since day one and he has never gotten any better, yet people still suck his cock like they can't get enough for some reason.
He's funny and kinda dumb, and the stories bent backwards to suck his cock and make him the awesomest of them all. Like Spider-Man, Nightwing, Beast Boy, and so on he exist to readers can self-insert into them.
I really like that Supergirl design.
I genuinly feel like it would've been loved by many, but it would set itself back from a stronger dramatic narrative. What I'm trying to say is that it would be stuck in Season 1 mode all the way through
It's too bad that was the highest quality video I could find. It would be cool to see higher resolution versions of those character models
John is just as boring.
Except he ain’t even comic relief
>it would be stuck in Season 1 mode all the way through
Does that mean facelines Superman would have been the norm?
DC has this problem where there are multiple versions of a character and this fragments the fanbase. Happens with Flash with Wally and Barry too.
Alan Scott > Guy > Kyle > Hal > John.
I’ll agree with GA and Supergirl, but Vixen was low key fire with the longer hair.
Brace and The Bold has the best Vixen design tho
That vVixen does things to me I’m loving
Hal's honestly my favorite; he does the "cocky hotshot" trope really well. He does dumb and reckless things, but him being bullheaded makes it make more sense that he's so tough, since the rings run on willpower. He also does his best thinking on his feet.
He's also pretty compassionate, like how he was willing to forgive Tomar-Tu after he joined the Darkstars.
>Hal Jordan – he's the anti-Batman. Batman has everything mapped out seven ways, while Hal will jump off a cliff and figure out how not to die on his way down.
Exactly. I think it makes him stand out from the others on the JL.
What should I read or watch to get into Hal?
This pic may also be helpful.
Additionally, GL:TAS is good, and so are the animated movies GL: First Flight and GL: Emerald Knights.
Emerald Knights isn't really about Hal, though.
I’d recommend Green Lantern: First Flight and this list is pretty great
I’d add Hal and the GLC, and Morrison’s current run is pretty great too
Just buy all 3 John's GL omnibuses
But user, Hal Jordan is already known by this generation.
Realistically you can just start at GL/GA and go on from there until Johns. It's not like GL has had any bad runs except Raab, but that was during the Kyle days and right before Rebirth happened. His Silver Age stuff is kooky fun, but the Bronze Age is where he really started to shine.
Why have there been so many recent Hal threads? Are HEAT feeling insecure or something?
Have there been? I've been on Yea Forums for a while, I haven't seen them.
Thanks, bros.
No problem, mang. Getting into comics can be daunting if you don't know where to start.
You’re welcome, man.
Also "DID YOU KNOW JOHN'S AN ARCHITECT?" thrown in all the fucking time.
Wally>>>>>>>>>Barry
It's like the writers are just throwing everything at the wall with John Stewart, and nothing sticks.
I forgot about Proto Aquaman.
He's like the Carol Danvers of DC
I like the one from the justice league/unlimited
That's what he looked like in the Superman episode.
You mean Johns. Geoff Johns was the one writing both Hal and John, while Peter Tomasi wrote Guy and Kyle in Green Lantern Corps. Since Johns couldn't care for John the only thing he'd do with the character is MUH XANSHIS, MUH MARINES, MUH ARCHITET. Oh, and support Hal 100%.
Guy and Kyle lucked out for being in the superior book. GLC >>> GL.
Not to mention dating a brainwashed woman.
The death battle between Ben 10 and GL sparked interest in both series again
It was mostly Ben fags pissed and HEATfags saying I told you so
That was what he looked like back in the Superman series tho. He actually looked cooler clean shaven and with that glowering look than he did with the beard
It’s not THAT bad
All this "power level" shit is so stupid. I could create a stick figure with unlimited godly powers who could beat Superman, Goku, and the Hulk all at once, and he'd still just be a shitty, poorly-written OC.
It can be fun if people dont get pissy when their favorite character loses
He's nothing but an former angry black man. All the other lanterns are more interesting than him.
He’s not as bad as Kyle
Better than being the character wank - the character.
Hal>Alan>Kyle>Guy>John>Jessica>Simon I guess
All thanks to the diversity brigade.
You forgot Dodgers>Everybody else
I tell you something, technically my GL was Kyle. I had a Kyle action figure (pretty awesome) and everything and saw him in comics. Yet I somehow ALWAYS knew he wasn't the Real Green Lantern. I always knew Hal was the real lantern even though I was a little kid with no sense of who these guys were.
My best guess is I saw Hal in the Superfriends cartoon or in my Funeral for a Friend comic.
More like the best NIGGER
It's really sad that Hal will be forotten in a few years when comics will die. His Johns story is unironically one of the best space operas ever created. We got bunch of clonws quiping about poop and nipples instead. Thanks WB.
It was explicitly Wally West. The only time Barry Allen was ever mentioned in anything related to the DCAU was a spin-off comic made during the run of Superman TAS.
Nah. Guys like Hal? They’re resilient, they’ll outlast us all.
Speaking of Star Sapphires. Did anyone remember that there is a fox Star Sapphire?
Every DC character who is not involved into a big movie/tv show/animated movie will be forgotten because comis will die soon. And all best stories will be forgotten while shitty characters with trash stories will be remembered because they have their own tv shows and movies.
Better than nigger.
>that Nightshade
Judging by this I’d say he’s got a strong enough presence, more than Gardner or Stewart.
The fact that Hal has at least something unlike the Lanters who are literally barely known, doesn't change that common audience doesn't know who Hal is. No one gives a shit about pseudo-new52 animated universe because it's trash. They need to make a decent animated movies and series again and put Hal in it.
>80s Nubian Goddess Vixen
>he's the least interesting GL
That's Alan scott.
Alan was good in JSA.
>It's the Justice League cartoon's fault for making Jon popular
>even though Hal had DTVs, a live-action movie, and a TV show
>all of which bombed, b-but it's Jon's fault!!!
It's the opposite for me. Barry is not interesting at all outside of the legendary hero who sacrificed himself to save the universe and served as an inspiration to Wally. Hal has much more going on for him as a character.
Agreed, Hal >>> Barry. Although I'm liking Barry a little better lately.
I like John but he really needs more character in the comics. Make him stop blowing up Planets too.
Hal just needs another shot, that’s all. He’s already the best part of DCSHG
>Hal just needs another shot
The one he'll never get. First WB murdered his character in a trash movie they created because they thought IM was successful because of planes. And then Raynolds forever buried character with his consistent shitting on the character for the sake of marketing of memepool.
>He’s already the best part of DCSHG
And it's just a cartoon for little girls.
>all of which bombed, b-but it's Jon's fault!!!
The only one that actually bombed was the movie and for good reason. It bombed so badly, the cartoon was sabotaged from the start due to the fact that no store wanted to stock GL toys so CN canceled it. The DTV movies did well enough to have 2, but by that point all the DC Animated movies weren't doing as hot as they used to be.
It's just kinda sad that despite the cartoon catapulting John into the limelight, it also destroyed his character into only being about MUHRINES. He's never recovered from that.
Nah, he will. I just know it. Maybe he’ll be a lead in the Green Lantern Corps Movie, Maybe he’ll be the villain. But he’s getting it.
Remember who commended thy
yellow stockings, and wished to see thee ever
cross-gartered: I say, remember. Go to, thou art
made, if thou desirest to be so; if not, let me see
thee a steward still, the fellow of servants, and
not worthy to touch Fortune's fingers. Farewell.
She that would alter services with thee,
THE FORTUNATE-UNHAPPY.
>And it's just a cartoon for little girls
Have you seen the characters in that show. This show was created for one purpose, to make our dicks hard
what good did it to John? Or any of the non-trinity?
This is the highest-quality version that I've seen:
www7.zippyshare.com
Just a little better, but not much.
Guy is my favorite because he’s just an asshole with a chip on his shoulder, that just happens to be one of the bravest men on the planet.
>The DTV movies did well enough to have 2
The second one only happened because of the live-action movie.
Hal was more popular, but people grew up with John thanks to the cartoon.
I’m sure people that grew up with the Superman cartoon were weirded out that’s Kyle wasn’t in JL.
Barry isn’t really Barry anymore. Ever since John’s got ahold of him, he’s had a different backstory and personality.
Wally grew from a jerk to an everyman hero. Barry zig zags between JLU Flash, Mark Waid Wally, and everything in between.
Although I shouldn’t complain, considering this happens to almost all of the characters in the JL. Even Superman and Wonder Woman are inconsistent in their personality.
Why couldn't we get a Justice Society series with the Golden Age versions?
I only read a few GL comics as a kid and they were about Kyle Rayner, but I did read the Parallax storyline to find out how we got to Kyle and I thought that was the most interesting Hal Jordan has ever been. He should've stayed evil.
>Was
Still is more popular, Kyle has almost no presence at all, let alone anything recent, John’s just got the DCAU, Guy’s just got the Brave and the Bold. Baz is weirdly excluded, and Cruz is soaring lately.
>Kyle has almost no presence at all
>Baz is weirdly excluded
Baz and Kyle are kinda dull. Generic everymen with nothing going for them.
>I GOTTA GUN
>And I can't use the Ring
I like his interactions with Commander Cold, at least.
>lost his chance
>being known
A single generation, huh? Really? Did DC stopped shoving him in everything?
Also, Flash is better at being the "hal jordan" character than Hal Jordan. And if you're butthurt about a non-white GL, then Guy Gardner is a better "white" GL than Hal ever was.
Agreed, never understood Kyle’s appeal.
Of course some asshole has to bring race into it
People dont like John because he's bland and boring not because he's black. He was no ones favorite character in JL
The only thing people remember about him is his romance with HG
He was an everyman dragged into a superheroic world, he had to rebuild something with a legacy he knew almost nothing about, and he had the opportunity to do it better. Also, he had some interesting constructs.
That's all I know; I was stopped from reading comics by my parents.
Aw shit, that’s a bummer dude.
Kyle was their YOUNG AND HIP lantern back when he was coming up, no? But user, Generic everymen is also extremely Hal to a T.
>He was no ones favorite character in JL
lol
Yeah but OP, no ones better at cucking and drawing out Hal fag tears than John Stewart.
Fun fact, every time some says "Isn't Green Lantern supposed to be black?"
Geoff Johns replays his sisters car crash in his head.
A decades worth of Editorial and the star writer at DC sabotaging their most popular black hero and Hal Jordan is still irrelevant as ever. Kek
You actually think John was a fan favorite?
Everyone knows Batman and Flash were the fan favorites
What's to hate? Like literally I see a lot of it for him here and I don't know why.
>DC sabotaging their most popular black hero
Static?
>Generic everymen is also extremely Hal to a T.
No, Hal's a cocky, reckless hotshot with a messy personal life and interesting relationships with Carol and Sinestro. He's also pretty boisterous and affable.
I really don’t think he was. I don’t remember any of the other kids that wanting to be him when we played justice league
What I'm getting from this thread is that
>bland and boring
>generic everyman
is used to describe not-your-favorte GL, but the all the other GL.
So from that, can we surmise that all GL are like that, except Guy and Jessica? And let's be honest, we know what they're bringing with Jessica.
And I'm going to be that guy and say that they could've actually done something with Baz. And that I liked him being paired with Jessica.
>Hal Jordan
>irrelevant
Hal is in fucking everything now, user.
His relationship with Sinestro is why he's my favorite GL
If it wasn't for that then it would go to Guy
Guy Gardner always best lantern.
>Literally the only reason why casuals even know or care about Green Lantern
>Literally years of the general public begging Idris Elba to play him in a movie
>"I-II SWEAR GUYS, NO ONE LIKES HIM HE'S BORING!!!
Seeth more Hal Cuck.
He’s also got this going on for him. When John drinks out of the faucet, I’ll like him
All the crazy shit that happened in Johns' GL, all the Generic Doomsday Villains and crossovers and different Corps and events...
...and I still remember this one line above everything else.
In addition to the reading recs, GL: First Flight movie, and GLTAS, go ahead and read/watch The New Frontier cause it is essentially a stealth Hal book/movie.
I never thought Kyle was supposed to be an everyman. I thought Kyle was supposed to be the “artist” of the metaphorical Green Lantern boyband.
I always saw John as the straight man, Hal as the headstrong lady’s man, Guy is the “bad boy”, and Kyle is the “artist”.
I guess Jessica is the chick and Baz is the terrorist
So not generic every man, but generic ever cape-character? loled at that Carol bit, though.
>Hal's a cocky, reckless hotshot with a messy personal life and interesting relationships
That's Guy and he does it better.
John Stewart had the DCAU and fuck-all else, dude. And Twitter retards begging for Idris Elba to play him is not a point in his favor.
Kill yourself
>seethe
But Hal is the GL that's in everything right now why would I seethe
The only reason casuals wanted John is because that's literally the only GL they knew about. People asked why was GL not black because they didn't know there was more than 1 GL
Is it too much to ask for fan art of the Timm waifu that never was?
I liked the Flash/John/Hawkgirl character dynamics in the Justice League cartoon. John by himself wasn't that interesting to me, but he played off well against other characters, and the interactions between those three were entertaining.
This really cemented Sinestro as my favorite DC villain. No other GL has that kind of chemeisty with a villain.
That’s primarily the reason I’m not into DCAU John, he’s more like a prop to bounce characters off
Everything Hal does, Guy does it better. You can pretty much erase Hal and place Guy in his place and things wouldn't change much. If anything, it'd improve.
Prove me wrong.
I can see that. Sucks that he sucks on his own
Hal is the shounen protagonist, but gets laid. Guy is Kaneda from Akira, but a fucking mad lad too
Even Hal biff with Batman was stolen from Guy. Modern Hal is pretty much a poor man's Guy.
I probably say this in every GL thread that brings this up, but I hate what Johns did with Sinestro. He's not Black Adam, you can't just turn every villain you like into an Anti-Hero.
Guy doesn't really have a well known arch enemy like Hal does
I got into GL with his run so I have no idea what Sinestro was like before. Could you explain to me why Sinestro is better as a villain and not a anti hero?
Genuinely asking because Sinestro is my favorite DC villain
If Guy was Sinestro's trainee, the Sinestro dynamic with the hero would also be ten times more interesting. Think about it.
That’s because John is the designated straight man. He constantly needs somebody either screaming to his face or making a stupid joke so he can tell them how stupid they are. This happened during the Neal Adams era and it happened in the DCAU.
I getcha, but at the same time, I’m hating what Snyder’s doing, turning him into just Superfriends Sinestro and taking away any depth
Dunno, I can't see Sinestro developing the grudging respect and ruined friendship with Guy that he did with Hal. He seems to just plain hate Guy.
He was like how he was in the beginning of Johns' run up until a little after Sinestro Corps War. A dick who wanted to bring 'order' to his sector through fear and an iron fist. This involved murdering the shit out of people and in Kilowogs case, his entire planet. At some point in Blackest Night, Johns just decided to make him into an Anti-Hero who Hal was sucking off at any opportunity and it gradually got worse. This worked for Black Adam because Theo-Adam was different than Teth-Adam and didn't have to be held accountable for the others crimes. Sinestro is still the same person though.
Anybody else think that John would be more interesting if he had more explicit parallels with Sinestro?
John is the orderly dude, so him going slightly overboard wouldn’t be out of character for him.
To kinda give the sense that history repeats itself.
Uh, Timm, that Black Lighting looks kinda Nazi-ish.
This was sorta brought up in Mosaic when Sinestro was possessing John.
Why is Hal always portrayed as a chad?
Because women fucking love him
Ooh, that could be interesting. Maybe the guilt from Xanshi's destruction starts causing him to overcompensate, and he goes over the line?
Isn’t that just the Justice Lords John?
I kinda liked that though. Most anti heroes are just asshole heroes but Sinestro actually did fucked up shit
I think John's was going for a redemption arch kinda thing with him which I can see falling flat
>the only reason why casuals even know or care about Green Lantern
Casuals neither know nor care about Green Lantern
>Literally years of the general public begging Idris Elba to play him in a movie
There was years of that for Donald Glover and Spider-man too. You gonna try to tell me that Miles is bigger than Peter?
Well isn’t that how Johns GL ended? In the far future Sinestro ended up the keeper of the Book of Oa
Justice Lords John didn't have much characterization, did he? Did the comics flesh him out more?
Ya, I kinda like that ending but I also wanted Sinestro to continue being a leader of the Sinestro corps
Thats because Hal is literally just an amalgamation of all the 4 main lanterns really. They'd all be better off if Hal stayed dead or remained a villain the way Ron Marz had planned
John Stewart would work better as the smart, rah rah, guts heavy, hard headed jock that taps into his emotions, conservative marine with a Carol Hal like relationship with either Hawkgirl or Katma Tui
Kyle would be the young ladies man and artist.
and Guy would be the funny, quippy one with heart.
As a Hal fan i hate to admit it. But Hal kind of overshadows everyone, which is probably why I can hardly care about any of the human lanterns other than Jessica and Guy
hal cucks please stop lying to yourselves

no amount of H.E.A.T.er propaganda will save Hal Jordan from his irrelevancy. Give it up. Its been 15 plus straight years.
We want only want Kyle Guy and John
Yeah, if Kyle, Simon, and John were killed off, I'm not sure I'd even notice their absence at first.
Maybe John and Kyle should be paired up with Guy and Hal, respectively? John's the straight man to Guy's mad dog, and Kyle's the sensitive rookie to the older, experienced Hal?
>guts heavy, hard headed jock that taps into his emotions,
So you want him to become Guy?
>MUH XANSHI
>MUH RINES
>MUH FATALITY
Nobody wants John.
>bleedingcool
nigga do you actually like this site?
Fatality doesn’t count anyway. He basically date raped her.
I know, right? He fucking knew she was brainwashed. I hope she shoves a battleaxe up his ass.
>bleeding cool
>twitter links
>from 9 years ago
Great market research you did there!
>Geoff johns literally having to promise wb and the general public that he'll add John Stewart to the next Green Lantern movie, otherwise no one would watch Green Snorefest The Sequel
>GLTAS literally got shit canned because viewers could wait for season 1 with Hal Jordan to be over and for season 2 with John Stewart to start as planned
Kek. Hal Cucks are a delusional bunch
>GLTAS literally got shit canned because viewers could wait for season 1 with Hal Jordan to be over and for season 2 with John Stewart to start as planned
Do you have a single fact to back that up
>wegotthiscovered.com
Hal and John, huh? Looks like Lethal Weapon in space.
Looks like it's a johnfag that's seething over Hal being the main GL
Your God damn right
m.youtube.com
Well from the 60s to 90s he was the exact same cookie cutter square jaw stalwart hero type as all the other big names like Superman, Batman, etc. He was just the green one.
Early 90s made Hal into a loser that moped around and hated himself a lot. And he kept fucking up and losing his house. Then Johns' Hal from 2006 and on was the mega chad, never think things through adrenaline junky that got laid every night and ran face fist into trouble every time. All cartoons seem to be using this characterization but dialing up the "He never thinks shit through" aspect and has him faceroll every villain that slaps him around.
I love how Batman really hates him a lot because of this too
>Early 90s made Hal into a loser that moped around and hated himself a lot. And he kept fucking up and losing his house.
You're thinking of the 70's. Bronze Age Hal had his shit together and was living with Carol throughout most of the 80's until the Crisis hit and she merged with the Predator.
It also didn't help that Kyle spent his entire run in the 90s saying the same thing. It was nonstop "I'll never be the REAL green lantern, I'm not the REAL green lantern, Hal was always the REAL green lantern, some day I might be as good as HAL" over and over and over again the whole time. He was always the crying whiny complaining hero that was considered a loser among the whole hero community and always mentioning how he sucked and was not good enough.
you cannot help but think he is a pretender to the title and Hal was the actual hero because the comic never stopped reminding you that he was a pretender to the title and Hal was the actual hero.
I have noticed Hal is always present in all superhero girls series. And he is the same alpha chad moron each time
>And he kept fucking up and losing his house
Are living expenses the true enemy of the Green Lantern?
Not to mention that Wally had already had the same struggles with living up to Barry's memory, and had conquered them and developed into an even more iconic character in his own right.
Baz really only seems like he was made to be an inclusion gimmick for the higher ups to claim they had some minority characters in their books. When that ran dry Baz stopped appearing everywhere
>It also didn't help that Kyle spent his entire run in the 90s saying the same thing. It was nonstop "I'll never be the REAL green lantern, I'm not the REAL green lantern, Hal was always the REAL green lantern, some day I might be as good as HAL"
Yes this is why I hate Rayner. All he did was complain and act insecure. Even after being GL for years he'd act like some jabroni who had no idea what was going on around him. Kyle was Bueno Excellente'd and should have been the killer in HiC instead of Wally West.
The 90s sidekicks Tim Drake and Kyle Rayner need to GTFO
Kyle was supposed to be the cool young hip character that made green anime characters and giant robots. He was like the fanboy hipster that would use pop culture references in his constructs and talked about star wars. He lived in a cool apartment in New York, went to clubs, worked a cool job that kids would like, he was like a superhero teen sitcom character.
When they added in younger lanterns after him he had the be the elder statesman and his whole thing sort of ended. Now he is the token minority character since they cannot figure out what the fuck else to do with him.
What are you on about you fuckhead? Hal Jordan is in the latest spinoff, which is getting real popular.
It would be great if they made Hal canonically slow.
Is there any comic book hero canonically not very bright? They made booster gold and plastic man like that in batman tbatb cartoon, and they were very entertaining.
Guy and Jessica have some strong personality traits you can instantly conjure up when thinking about them. Guy is always the loudmouthed asshole and Jess is always the shy weirdo shut in.
Hal, Kyle, and John have each been portrayed as the "normal one" personality-less ordinary hero guy that has the personality of loves justice and saves people. Sometimes they get to be a little different, with Johns being the PTSD guy, or the angry one, Hal as the complete idiot, or the pathetic loser that cannot pay his rent, and Kyle as the anime fanboy or the tragic loser that everyone around his dies and get is weird over it all.
Minority? Kyle Rayner is a white person name. I always thought Rayner was just a white guy with dark hair. Did they retcon him so he's a latino immigrant?
Surely there are better candidates on Earth to be a GL than Kyle Rayner. It would have been interesting to see a non-American GL.
Yeah, Tom King made Kyle’s dad Mexican in his Omega Men comic
why is his dad named Rayner if he's Mexican?
He was a CIA agent. Rayner was his alias
Simon might be dead. He has not appeared in anything even a background shot since December, And we saw a dead lantern in heroes in crisis
He is not going to appear in anything in any future solicitations either.
Being a hero is their job. And it doesn't pay anything. So it's hard to have a second job on tip of that to pay for their lives.
At least Johns GLC invented the sector houses for lanterns to stay in
jesus christ that's stupid
But when you think of willpower you imagine America
At least stop doing it after the first year. I expect some fumbling around when the guy is still learning how to be a hero. But 6 years later, a JLA member and veteran of a few dozen world ending events he is the same
>I don't know if I can do this, Hal was the real hero
Whining guy as before.
Kyle is now a super religious Mexican catholic from Tijuana that prays in spanish and cradles his rosary around all the time
Kyle and Wally's struggles were going on around the same time with Wally having just gone through Eobard impersonating Barry right before Emerald Twilight happening. It's why they got under eachothers skins so much when they were first meeting and why they later became best buds after Alan and Jay told them to stop being faggots. It's also one of the really shitty things with Wally's comeback and subsequent assassination by King that Kyle and Wally never met up or that Kyle didn't get stuck with Titans since he had relationships with Donna and Roy as well as Wally. Would've been a good fit for him.
Does Tom King just make every character he writes himself?
Kyle Rayner became more stupid.
If they get rid of John, Kyle and Simon, the GL family looks much better. Jessica, Hal and Guy is all we need.
>catholic
I fucking hate it when characters have a real world religion
You fuckers have see alien gods how are you not agnostic
Aaron Rayner being a CIA agent goes back to the Marz days of Kyle's run and was expanded upon/dealt with in Winicks run. King just took that and thought "Hm, his Dad is Spanish. I guess Kyle only speaks in Spanish now."
kyle is such a dweeb who is always just "awe gee gosh shucks, I'm just happy and overwhelmed to be here!"
He wasn't raised a child soldier like his other fellow legacy heroes so him being with his idols and considered equal would probably be a big deal.
>DC has this problem where there are multiple versions of a character and this fragments the fanbase.
Marvel is going the same road by pushing multiple Spidermen (most notably Miles), Thors, Captain Americas, etc.
I liked the Young Justice cartoon's portrayal of Barry. He was still a laidback dude capable of jokes but in a different, more mature fashion compared to Wally.
Really? I remember him as MC of one GL serie with Kilowog..
I am fine with John(good lantern) and hawkgirl in the serie. She was more beautiful than I expected and this team has many men.
That was actually Judd Winick. Power of Ion TPB.
Um, that lineup is awfully white and cisnormative.
Um, Clark and Aquaman are clearly Latinx, and Barry and Hal are both transmen,
Is Wondy a transwoman?
That’s hilarious.
I bet Superman didn’t even actually say that shit, that’s just Hal interpreting it that way.
Yes, a pansexual one at that . And Batman is a proud gay nonbinary person.
>gay nonbinary person.
>not a black Jewish gay nonbinary person.
Fucking shitlord.
That goes without saying
Nope, he didn't. Hal just keeps thinking about it and making it worse inside his imagination.
I like how the major constants between the corps are the Mamemon guys and a random earth animal.
This is why Hal is the best Green Lantern. Because he's an idiot.
>Mamemon guys and a random earth animal.
I don't think the Blue Lantern Corps had earth animals though and 1123 guys. Unless you count that Elephant guy.
It’s why no other can compare
How would that make anyone agnostic?
There’d be no room for being indecisive.
Fucking this. Of all heroes, being a green lantern is a job. It's hard to balance out having a dayjob, being a lantern and patrolling 1/3600th of the universe, and being on call for any major crisis that comes up.
They should have used Alan Scott anyway.
>They should have used Alan Scott anyway.
Weren't they banned from using JSA characters so they made their own knock-offs like Tom Turbine and Green Guardsman?
The Green Lanterns have a fly, a planet, a goat, squirrel, and a sentient small pox virus. This is why I thought Dex Star was some intelligent alien cat for the longest time. Because so many others are just smart animals that look 100% like an ordinary earth animal
I think the Sinestros have a shark and a Gorilla too.
I mean weren’t Black Canary and Wildcat members of The Guild?
I know they created that because they couldn’t use the JSA, but I think they just always wanted to use Turbine and Green Guardsman as characters but never had an excuse to until this.
Previous guy is correct if this is anything to go by. They had it set up with the JSA, then it was changed presumably because of rights.
I loved that episode
What could've been...
