Digital releases are generally about 2 to 3 months after movies come out now.

It's true. You can't buy a DVD if you're at a movie theater and by the time the movie is done you've spent all your money for the week and the DVD's will be taken out of stores and burned so nobody else can ever buy that at a later time.
