The problem with Endgame (and IW for that matter) is that you cant even call it a good movie in it's own bubble. It requires the viewing of roughly 20 movies covering a dozen franchises to be invested in and understand what's going on. It's great if you're already a fan of the MCU but that's where it's impact stops.

Infinity war is an actual movie. With a protagonist, stakes, themes.
Endgame is the conclusion of the series, so unlike infinity war you need to see all the other ones to begin to appreciate it.

Infinity War's a more focused and tightly constructed narrative. It's essentially Thanos' own movie, and it shows.

What's your Yea Forums lazy Monday night feel good trinity? I got Spider-Man 3, Dark Knight Rises, and Dragon Ball Evolution.

IW is concise and to the point. IW thanos is compelling and even though hes insane you can sympathize with what he wants to do (save the universe). The avengers all felt important to the plot and had clear goals (forge new weapon, protect vision, confront thanos).

Endgame thanos was a generic villain of the week. The plot is hamfisted time travel bullshit (Tony Stark discovers time travel literally overnight, really?) And despite the desperate situation they are in the movie constantly make jokes and quips that were distracting instead of funny (Hulk smash, Caps ass, Thor being fat all the way to the end of the film). Captain Marvel conviniently shoved out most of the movie because reasons. And the final battle after all the resurrected heroes show up was a CGI mess.
