>Powers are claws and regen
Why is he on the main x men team? He’s weak as fuck.
Powers are claws and regen

His real power is boosting sales and wish fulfilment
>Weak as fuck
Wait, what? I’m legit confused as to how you reached that conclusion
Manlets btfo
his claws can cut through time
Because cutting things with sharp objects has always been cool in comic books.
Well his bones are made of a practically indestructible alloy, including those claws, and his healing is one of the best instances of it, plus he’s a badass, so even if his powers aren’t very “out there” he makes up for it in other ways.
manlet rage is surprisingly strong
This was the moment that Wolverine was never going to leave the X-Men
Right decade, right book, right character
>Unbreakable metal skeleton and claws, plus can heal from basically anything, can smell people miles away and can cut through anything, hundreds of years of combat experience
>Weak
He is constant
And Hank is fluffy with big hands and feet.
It's not the powers that make a character good or popular, it's the writing.
Because he's the best at what he does
Does he dance ?
The sewer scene is the most iconic moment of the dark Phoenix saga, fight me.
I think having a guy with the power of "not dying" can be really useful actually.
Not very nicely.
>Doesn't even have wolverine claws
>Is as strong and fast as a large regular human guy
>Powers are regen and animal senses
Why is this guy supposed to be a real legitimate threat to heroes and every X-team?
He's not even good enough to be a Spider-Man villain
The Dark Phoenix saga isn't fucking iconic. Jean's irrelevant as a character.
I just wish Marvel would stop paring him up as a Hulk opponent. It didn't work in the 70s and it doesn't work now. Cutting a guy that has even nicer regen plus the ability to lift and toss aircraft carriers is never a smart idea.
Imagine believing this when it’s already got envy (2) different movie adaptations.
I posted that page but no way
SCOTT! is way more iconic
It's already got 2 movie adaptations because it requires zero fucking build up, unlike House of M or anything involving time travel or aliens, like most X-men shit. Both adaptations sucked ass because evil Jean can't fucking carry a film any better than she could carry a comic arc.
Things are not half as bad as they were in the 90s when he was really popular. In 95 Creed was single handedly fucking up Colossus, Psylocke, Archangel, Sinister, Venom, and he chased Namor around in one mini.
Good guy Sabretooth was fun, he was the Wolverine everyone treated like the murderous safety hazard he was.
>years of combat experience
Sadly, it’s rarely mentioned. He just roars and jumps at the opponents
The 90's excuse was
>He's really SAVAGE! No one can handle the animal RAAAGGEEEEE
And he somehow managed to take down Iron fist, Spider-Man and Punisher at the same time with the power of being really angry and roaring a lot. The Venom fight was legit bullshit.
Pretty sure Logan is still deal. So, he’s not in the main x-men team.
His powers are much more visceral and cathartic than shooting laser beams. Like when you're angry, hitting something is much more satisfying than if you could just make it disappear. Makes for a great wish-fulfillment character
Good point
Even sadder, Beast have every single advantage over Sabertooth in everything Sabertooth is good at. But Beast never wins fights because Creed is cooler among fans.
beast was always better as an avengers character than an x-men character
How does an X-Man with a skeleton made of nigh-indestructible metal with regenerative powers "WEAK," exactly?
It's not impressive when standing next to people that can turn completely into metal and also lift 70 tons, or have total control over all weather, transform into ice and have unlimited ability to make ice, can control anything with their minds, make any object explode with a touch, has an unbreakable forcefield, solar powered brick, lava control,
Unbreakable bones and knife hands kind of suck compared to most of the X-Men or any of their enemies. He might have more useful powers than Kitty most of the time, or Maggot, but he's mostly a normal guy with cool knives that can survive being that normal guy running at the celestial powered murdermachine.
It's almost as if power level wankery isn't what makes a compelling character
that's the best approach to someone with adamantium claws that can do comic long jumps tho
It's a legitimate strategy. Worked for berserkers and actual wolverines.
He's the guy that baddies beat the shit out of so they can fulfill their "hurt someone" quota, conversely he's also the one they keep around to keep their "cut baddies up" quota fulfilled.
In the grand scheme of things, he's not a big threat at all, but a pain in the ass if you don't have anything that can put him down for a good span of time, he's basically the party's barbarian.
> Why is he on the main x men team?
Regen Powers means Xavier doesn't have to pay premiums on health insurance on "Fast Ball Specials".
Wolverine was in Uncanny for 10 years before the Miller mini series which really marked the ascent of his popularity. The new market is so crazy compared to the bronze/copper age.
Healing factor is a boss ass power to have and makes him very versatile, as do his unbreakable claws/skeleton, his heightened senses and his decades of experience and skill.
