Right, because it was entirely about his ego and not the fact that Tony has been cemented to have trust issues and his trust shattered by Steve in Civil War. In Tony's mindset why should he call the man who promised him "Together" only to be partially responsible for breaking the team apart and hiding such an important secret from him. He was going to call in Infinity War then the situation escalated and the priority became calling Steve vs getting back Strange and preventing the time stone from landing in Thanos' clutches.

So you expect Steve and Tony to act like nothing ever happened? The man had his worst fear come true. He lost the closest thing he had to a son then starved for 20+ days with an untreated wound. The world wasn't burning to the degree you're making it out to be. If Natasha's scenes were any indication then there was nothing of import going on that would require Iron Man running around. Pepper was presumably taking care of things as CEO of Stark Industries, that left Tony making 30 something more Iron Man suits and even more Rescue ones while he was also trying to find a solution to the snapped people. While he was doing all of that he was also raising his daughter. Do you really want him to be another shitty parent like Howard was to him?

At some point Steve stopped giving a shit about hanging out with Bucky in the present and looking into smashing Sharon's forbidden pussy.
