I don't think the robots aren't going to be able to affect the ether upon death like humans can, but I think this probably makes Kat responsible for all of them regardless of who might create them in the future.

She wouldn't waste these guys' time.
Being nice is much more important to her than being smart.

How would you write up this plot line more organically?

the process completes, and Arthur emerges from the chamber or whatever but his body has Kat's symbol somewhere on it. Every other robot she turns into a living thing also gets this sign on their bodies. Kat and gang think nothing of it until later when shit starts hitting the fan.

>Ghost oft handedly mentions the concept of a familiar, warns Kat not to try this shit again, threatens ghost court, and fucks off.

Gunnerkrigg isn't that kind of comic.

I think this chapter is just Tom keeping house in between larger story beats.
Annie and Annie are close and friendly, Ren gets an upgrade, and Kat becomes a god while they wrap up the thicc black girl that wants more than just robocock.

That's gonna be trouble.

It's kinda sad that Tom forgot about Annie learning to speak many languages from visiting psychopomps. Even if this one is something she doesn't know, it could have been mentioned.

If you're thinking that way you're overstating her knowledge, she's not stated to be like a magical polyglot, she just learned how to speak other languages in a mundane way from a fantastic source. It's no more relevant to this scene than Kat's love of video games.

I'm open to the fact that she's being humble here, but you're definitely overstating what's been established as canon.

She can speak more of other languages than you would expect due to what the psychopomps taught her, but her knowledge isn't any more comprehensive or special than someone that grew up in a European hostel and came into contact with lots of languages repeatedly in that way. Nothing to suggest she'd be consulted or even thought of when it comes to an ultra ancient spirit language.

She could have avoided her fate if she had read a contract proposed by a ghost that had tried to fuck her over multiple times in the same negotiation, but she really didn't feel like "reading" the supernatural borderline Faustian contract the ghost brought up.
