I want a continuation of Beast Wars that ignores Beast Machines and continues with Megatron arriving as a prisoner on Cybertron and awaiting trial. Primus can get some new orders from Leo Prime, the Tripredicus Council can be the new baddies, and all the while Megs still running his agenda even behind bars (escaping at end of season 1 or 2). I think it would be great. I would even take this in a comic form.

The Japanese Beast Wars are good, watch those. The second one just got full English subtitles last month. Lio Convoy & Big Convoy are cool leaders & theres a crossover movie with Primal

Animated was different in her regards due to Cybertronians being paranoid over anything organic. Which led her to mistrusting everyone (and being mentally conflicted), thus never fully reforming.

In BW's case, it took a serious betrayal and stubborn love of Silverbolt to make her consider joining the Maximals, and going TM2 to finally cement her status as fullblown Maximal.

Good show, hated that I had to be awake at 6 am to watch it as a kid.

one idea i had for if i made a new Beast Wars. don't retread Primal and Megatron. I'd make them way different

I on the other hand would've expanded them. Both being descended from Prime and the original Megatron.

Primal being a super-prototype of the Convoy line whose spark was created from a fragment of Prime, whereas Megatron (here Gnashteeth) came into being naturally but was for a time unaware of his heritage and pursued a life as a engineer and researcher before going down the path of a criminal enforcer and later a Predacon commander. Primal despite being the precursor to the Convoy type commanders of the Maximal Empire, wasn't so interested in military affairs and wanted to explore the galaxy like his original incarnation, while Gnashteeth had difficulties in life due to the Maximal/Predacon differences which let him grow more and more disillusioned with visible injustice of the post-Great War and post-Energy Crisis Cybertron.

Also if going with a new Beast Wars cartoon, one of the things I'd highlight would be the Maximal/Predacon relationships and how the neutral Cybertronians favor the former over the latter due to prejudice against the latter due to being descendants of Decepticons. So much that a the ruling Maximals are seeing this as a massive problem they are trying to fix. And one of the many reasons Gnashteeth turns to villainy is not him having every single idea he had torpedoed in favor of anything non-Predacon (that was the starter), but namely having his fellow Preds also treated like slag. This would cause him to discover that at one point he is Megatron's descendant, rename himself and cross paths with Primal who at this point was relegated to work as public law enforcer until the events of the cartoon caused the Maximal Council to gather a team to pursue rogue Predacon Leaders in a cold-war-esque, spec-ops cloak and dagger Beast Wars through a remote solar system colonized by humans without them noticing the two factions.

Beast Wars in the present day?

Yeah, but unbeknownst to humans. Think like how it's handled in the 2015 RiD, but without any interactions. They simply are, but in the background. Though the story would focus on a solar system colonized by humans and which is used as one massive series of biodome superstructures to preserve animals and resurrect extinct ones. There the two factions race to find an artifact from the times when the Primes came into being. The Preds want to use it to establish their rightful place on Cybertron, while the Maximals are here to stop them without causing a political scandal.

The Maximals later discover to their horror the artifact is in fact a seal in which the Primes imprisoned the very first Unicron Spawn, who unlike a bot normally described as coming from Unicron, is a monster that was born from part of the Chaos Bringer's essence. It proved so powerful that Megatronus and the Requiem Blaster only slowed its advance. The only way was to buy Solus enough time to forge a seal that would suck it in, imprison it and then send it off to some dead system unknown to anyone else. The only reason why everyone forgot about it was the data being destroyed during the Great War. Now the Maximals go triple in order to get to the artifact first before it ends with something more than a political scandal or an annihilated system.

You went grand, I like it.

And the scariest part about it? It was born when a piece of Unicron containing a piece of his essence somehow managed to enter Primus during their titanic, void-quake causing fight. Instead of just dying, it laid dormant since it couldn't do anything inside the Lifebringer. The darn monstrosity manifested itself after the Matrix of Leadership was created and used it as a portal to escape Primus's interior to cause havoc, death and spilling destructive entropy left and right.

That's creative and puts a nice spin on things.

from that IDW one shot comic that was fembot focused. Mairghread Ann Scott wrote how Airrazor was her favourite character in Beast Wars character how Airrazor essentially inspired her to write for Windblade. It's cheesy but i can't help but smile at this story.

Man, if there was ever any doubt that Scott is a hack, that proves it.

She was mostly right in the money. It was a nice story and it's nice to see Airazor get some love.

Everyone gets more development, all the major plot points of the season are foreshadowed and they totally trimmed characters that had run their course (Terrorsaur, Tigatron) or didn't do much to begin with (Scorponok, Airrazor)

Scorponok got killed because Inferno was much more entertaining in his role as the stupidly-loyal zealot. Terrorsaur's death almost went to Waspinator instead, but everybody loved the dumb bug too much.

I think killing off Scorponok and Terrorsaur was a good move, really. The Agenda trilogy or Code of Hero might not have had quite as much gravity if those goofballs had been prominent predacons.

Speaking of shitting the bed, while that Armada clip is cool, they completely fuck up Overload's transformation. Instead of the cool sliding parts transfer the toy does, in the animation they just partsform and fly around. That actually put me off buying the toy when I was younger.
