Which one are you more excited for Yea Forums? Do you think either of them will turn to shit?
Owl House and Amphibia

Owl House has the most red flags I've ever seen for any animated series
Amphibia will be fine as a basic comedy series if they don't get into the lore bullshit like Star Vs
Answer: More excited for Looney Tunes Cartoons
this basically. though looney tunes doesnt really have anything to do with.
Owl House > Infinity Train (you didn't mention it, but people here tends to group it with the other shows) > Amphibia
The premise of Amphibia sounds more boring than the other shows, but probably that will save it from becoming a DEEP LORE shitfest like the other two.
how do you avoid the deep lore trap?
Neither and I'll watch neither
I want to cum on their faces
I love LUZ
Dude...
THEY ARE NOT FOR LEWD
>Do you think either of them will turn to shit?
Obviously the one that's getting COTUGGED.
We'll see about that!
Red flags like what?
I cant wait for Luz to be in a gay relationship with Eda.
>Owl House > Infinity Train
user... trusting the owl house will be good is one hell of a bet
...
The only reasonable one is the delay. Less reasonable is Cotugno (yes. She's a director and does have some say in the Episodes, but that doesn't mean she has final word). Completely bullshit is every fucking rumor you've heard (80 job sends to the animation guild, the delay was caused because Luz and Eda was going to be endgame, Dana firing the entire crew and hiring a new crew.
Made for frog cum.
Even the premise and the idea of another Disney Channel "Gravity Falls" non-mystery is cause for concern
>Owlhouse
Anyone who does not like this is an inbred white incel
That's also a good point (Although I've never seen gravity falls). It's just that people latch on to the bullshit argument.
There are already nasty rumors even before there’s nothing to begin with. That’s usually a bad sign.
a lot of that is Yea Forums just hungering for drama since it's made by alex hirsch's girlfriend and they want to complain some more about cogneto .
What’s with those newbie cartoonists and their obsession with magic/wicca stuff? Is this the new trend amongst sjw?
I don't listen to the rumor shit. But I am skeptical of the writing quality the show will have when you take a look at who is working on the show. Lots of people who tend to value "it's good because diversity" type of writing. Stuff like pic related.
The art will be fantastic, there's a lot of talented artists working on it, especially in the background art department. The animation? I don't know, Disney's only visually stand out show was Wander Over Yonder. Every other show has had competent, but boring, animation where everything is aggressively on-model and never moves in an interesting way.
The writing though... I feel like it's going to go the exact route of Star Vs. where it starts off kind of interesting and immediately devolves into pandering, focusing on romances nobody cares about, and trying its hardest to subvert all expectations at the cost of a good story.
Amphibia will be an okay episodic comedy about life in a cute frog village. It will fly under Yea Forums's radar until the last episode of season 1 which will raise the stakes and introduce deepest lore.
Owl House will have deepest lore from the outset, better production values and a very cool setting, but the characters other than Eda will be bland and the ongoing plot not very interesting.
Neither will have the problems of Star vs. seasons 3 and 4 like going too far with the politics and shipping or the plot being a mess.
your error is thinking show runners some how green light there own shows, and not just the inevitable byproduct of disney execs trying to chase the money train that was gravity falls.
holly crap i can't decide
You can’t deny there’s a pagan/vegan snowflake trend has been going on in mainstream media.
The generation who grew up on Salior Moon and Harry Potter is now making content.
more like a rise in horror/occult or creepy imagery cartoons because of the success of past products like it at is probably the most entry level example but noticeable trends aren't hard to see, cross boarders always seem to underestimate both how willing a company is to cut corners and chase even the most vague of flame's because it makes them money and there's a severe disconnect between corporate-producers-consumers.
We loved gravity falls
>Only 39
>Most are of Luz and not Eda.
What does veganism have to do with magic?
Fluffy bunny Wicca and veganism go hand in hand.
literally half the threads about it are calling hirch a libcuck and mabel [new buzzword for disliked female character]
I honestly never noticed that.
drawfag here i'm taking some request provide me with some references and i might take it
Dana Terrace Lemming punching her monitor.
>Not choosing both
That was the point of adding it, that I'm not really hyped for either
I can understand, bullshit like "they wanted pedo stuff" is not what I based this on
Eda is clearly sexier and luz is a child
The owl house, but after all the danashitposting I'm worry that the memedrama would overrun the threads when It actually airs
Eda has her thing but holly crap my petite body fetish is always clinking everytime i look at her
delivery senpai
guys try to request to me luz, Eda or Anne stuff
It is amazing how mad an lgbtq+ character makes breeders lol
You're the best, drawfag.
you're wrong my child
Wrong, people hate bad ROMANCE. See:
>Ashi/Jack
>Finn/Flame Princess
>Mordecai/Margaret/CJ
>Black Widow/Hulk
>Kim/Ron
Are straight examples of people REEEEE-ing.
luz and amity blight kissing
Can I request Anne, Luz, and Eda wearing P.E. uniforms? Eda is the coach with a whistle (visor and clipboard optional) while Luz and Amity jump hurdles? Preferably Luz tripping on one of them? It's not a fetish thing I swear! The uniforms are white shirts and red shorts
Amphibia, because the main girl has already been subjected to my fetish.
Since this show likes the anime references
Luz wearing Naga the Serpents outfit from slayers?
Pic related with Luz selling Eda porn and then Luz porn.
Bumping for drawfag. (If he's still kicking)
I liked mordecai and cj.....
and what is that?
I love Luz so much! I want her to be my daughter.
If you are her father teach her not to be so lewd.
I would like to adopt Anne. At least she is indepedent and She is not lewd at all.
LUZ IS NOT LEWD!!!
Huh. I was expecting this to be an owl house dominating amphibia thread but have now realized no one really cares. I myself will wait to hear luz speak before making a judgement
>cross boarder
>pretends he’s “inside the business”
Trying to act like a smartass won’t help you in the long run.
See no reason to pick. I'll draw lots of porn of both.
Her tummy says otherwise.
You keep that Owl House bullshit away from Amphibia. Stop trying to merge threads
>Amphibia comes out in 8 days
>Still overshadowed by The Owl House
oh well
I mean, it probably will be for at least a little while until something fucks it up.
Disney execs have said they plan for the show to take the place of svtfoe so I assume they have high hopes for the show. I don't necessarily trust their judgement though
>Amphibia won't be deep lore
>when it's already setting up deep lore from day 1
yeah no, if having deep lore is a red flag then Amphibia is fucked right out the door.
So the creator of Owl House is really into lewd fanart and shipping? Did I hear that correctly?
No, she is really into smashing the patriarchy and cisshit white males.
only if is gay, if you do it she will suck your blood
Yeah and I know a bunch if normies who liked Ron and Kim but it wont stop people from REEEing about it
you know what they say, is not pedophilia if is a woman with a little girl
they both look shit
Yeah nothing can swing a tide faster than the wrong or perfect voice.
most anons expect owl house to e a trainwreck and they want to watch it happen
I'll give them both a shot honestly, not like 22 minutes is a particularly large chunk out of my day.
>Do you think either of them will turn to shit?
They won't survive the third season without completely jettisoning what made them interesting in the first two. Arbitrary character changes, dropped plotlines, lore trampled on, declining ratings, harsh dropoff of fanart
>They won't survive the third season without completely jettisoning what made them interesting in the first two. Arbitrary character changes, dropped plotlines, lore trampled on, declining ratings, harsh dropoff of fanart
So every series?
Satan quads. The show is doomed.
oh boy another isekai
>amphibia
and ANOTHER isekai
>The animation?
High quality Korean studio for first season, then the scrub studios for the rest.
No execs have said this
Is having a deep lore bad? I always thought people didn't like when there wasn't enough world building and mysteries at play?
I think the problem is that they're using their deep lore to substitute actual storytelling. That the impression I got from the Star vs. threads at least.
Deep lore can really sour a show If written into the show poorly.
See: Star
>Trying to act like a smartass won’t help you in the long run.
this coming from the guy who desperately wanted an excuse to bitch about vegans? and no i'm no insider, i'm just a massive fucking nerd and have been watching cartoons for far too long.
People are getting sick of it because it seems like every cartoon is using "muh deepest lore" as a cheap way of generating interest these days.
People liked it at first, but a lot of recent shows that used it had had poor endings and so it's soured some people on it.
BROWN
CUNNY
I really desire more Eda.
wait Amphibia actually airs next week? dang.
Maybe the fandom will be small, but chill...maybe.
That'd be nice. I need a drama-free cartoon, which is something I shouldn't even have to say.
Lore itself is worthless. It can be a foundation of good plot but it's not a substitution.
Amphibia news, an entire minute trailer aired after the premiere of Shrek. Looks like we will get to see Anne's past friends. Starts at 1:13.
I just hope the Owl House will be a good guilty pleasure at the very least cuz bronze loli. the other one looks boring.
>no i'm no insider
Nobody thinks you're an insider fag. Stop dreaming about yourself.
Better quality version of trailer here: youtube.com
Amphibia > Infinity Train > Owl House > Twelve Forever.
I really like what the gravity falls crew does with background art and music, so at the very least Amphibia is aesthetic as fuck.
Infinity Train looks interesting, and sounds like it'll be a Over the Garden Wall-esque journey kind of show.
Owl House kinda doesn't and I'm not sure what it's trying to do.
Twelve Forever looked thoroughly mediocre in the pilot but whatever.
At least it's not High Guardian Spice.
so is your life permanently set too crawling in my skin by linkin park?
Having lore and world building is great if you ALSO plan out the ending to your show. Which can sometimes be impossible for creators who got a popular show by accident and renewed for more reasons they didn't anticipate getting. It's one of the flaws of American TV where the creator never knows when it's going to end. Compared to anime where most anime is adapted from manga so the production team already has an idea of what the timeline is going to be.
I just say anime to compare animation:animation, not to make it East vs. West. Book adaptations are also able to thrive on this format. This is assuming both the manga or book is actually fucking finished otherwise you get a Game of Thrones/Fullmetal Alchemist situation.
It's not impossible for cartoon creators to have a rough idea of what they want in their show's timeline, like Futurama where they didn't know what Fry's destiny would be when making the pilot, only that he had one. It's not even impossible to make shit up on the spot, like Venture Brothers. It's just difficult, and a lot of cartoonists suck at it.
Also, world building doesn't just have to be for drama shows. Fairly Oddparents fairy world and lore is as complex as Adventure Time, it just never took itself seriously.
what was wrong with kim/ron
The animation's being done at Rough Draft (one of the most ubiquitous korean studios), Sugarcube (a korean studio whose gimmick is that they fully animate digitally instead of on paper; they and Rough Draft were the studios on seasons 2+ of Star vs and Big City Greens; wouldn't entirely be surprised if they were on Amphibia as well), and SMIP (a korean studio often used by CN, but disney themselves haven't used since Buzz Lightyear; They should do good with a good budget; their SU eps look a lot better than Rough Draft's; most of their "this looks like shit" shows are lower budget stuff like the PPG reboot)
You stay away from Anne you genocidal monster
Sorry user, the Koreans already got to her.
>It's one of the flaws of American TV where the creator never knows when it's going to end.
What American and other Western animation studios should begin to do is ask a creator of a story oriented series "How much time do you need to tell your full story" and give them that much if the show succeeds. I would much rather see a story be cut off suddenly because ratings weren't doing well and the company decided to stop the show rather than just having animators and writers run around like chickens without their heads trying to write a good story without a clear finish line.
It kinda feels like what Star vs. ran into, where the animators were trying to bet on that they would have more time to tell the story when Disney started pulling the plug, so they had to rush to end it.
She is cute in a non lewd way.
>I will now pleasure myself with this fish!
The story doesn't NEED to end. It can go on forever. Problem is that lots of writers who rely on "lore" basically write story backwards rather than forwards, revealing past rather than having characters make decisions and evolve. It's easier this way - it's much easier to write a premise and cut it in pieces and scatter then to write and develop actual characters.
Anna looks really familiar
>The story doesn't NEED to end.
Fuck no, every story should have an ending. Characters can live on forever like Looney Tunes, but if you plan on doing even a hint of character development with them, you're turning it into a story that needs to end.
Walking Dead shouldn't be treated like an episodic sitcom.
Yuri time
Amphibia looks a bit too generic to me so The Owl House.
>name is literally Luz
>As in La Luz Extinguido
Dios Mio...
how the fuck does she have signal in another world?
I know that's a meme, but if Luz (light) turns out to be in some form or related to Lucifer (light-bringing) I might actually change my opinion on the show to a more positive outlook. The show involves demons and if our "human" character that makes friends with them turns out to be the princess of darkness I'd cream my pants over the amount of Demonic Luz fanart that it would spawn.
Come to think of it, of course the only princess Dana would want to make would be a princess of Hell.
>MFW La Luz Extinguido might become canon
What is this about her punching a cintiq?
