I'm about to read Final Crisis. How good is it?
I'm about to read Final Crisis. How good is it?
You'll either love it or hate it. There is no in between.
i think thats the general consensus with grant morrison
any exceptions?
It is good, but it is not as good as it should have been and I think Morrison agrees. It feels like there is an issue missing.
Its good, but if you want the whole story read the omnibus.
All star Superman
Animal Man
JLA
the current Green Lantern run
I never liked how Darkseid in the end wasn't the actual main bad guy despite the build up. Or how it sort of forgets about Dan Turpin and other characters that felt like they had to play a major role. Also it kind of just ends, like : "ok, im going to do this, and then this, and now i guess it's over"
CoIE > FC > CiT > IC
I mean, i love Morrison for the most part but IC never worked for me
...Infinite Crisis?
Grant Morrison's Infinite Crisis?
>>>>>>>>>> HiC
Sorry my man, im drunk
I actually like Infinite Crisis, mostly because of Superboy Prime
Is the last one infinite crisis or identity crisis
You forgot 7 Soldiers.
yes
>liking Super Retard Prime
Neck yourself
>not liking /ourguy/ Prime
Outstanding.
Jokes on you, i prefer Liefeld's work. Except that issue of Youngblood where this happens. Yeesh
No, I like him - as a villain.
All that power in the hands of someone who can't handle it at all.
Hell, he's probably more powerful than Plutonian. Maybe Sentry-level. And he's not crazy, just a whiny teenager. (Actually, he's nineteen, but goddamn, so immature).
Even as a villain he's pure garbage
You know how there's recommendations for authors? For Morrison his is literally required to get Final Crisis because it draws upon everything he wrote for DC up until that point. As a magnum opus it's great but for an event that should be easily accessible it's a mess. I still don't get why he put Mandrakk in the Superman mini. His sudden appearance at the end, also his only appearance in the main book, just seemingly comes out of nowhere.
It also was the cause of a lot of arguments. Threads were divided with half the people complaining about stuff they didn't get and half calling the first half idiots for not getting it. The elitism was pretty high during that time.
Exactly. He's the villain you love to hate.
Many people have been awaiting his return because he's a villainous Deus Ex Machina almost without peer.
I can't wait for Superboy Prime to BTFO Dr.M and Perpetua alone
That's because of Dan Didio. He decided to butcher the maxi-series so he could turn parts of its story into standlone minis and one-shots that could be sold separately, for maximizing of the profits. This ended up wrecking the internal sync of the maxi-series, and its many new minis and one-shots. That's why everything feels incomplete, rushed, and empty.
Ha!
>TFW he is exactly what Perpetua was trying to create
