Flapjack and Chowder are both of a same kind. Shows with terrific timing and great cartoony humor that overstayed their welcome before even one season ran its course. They bridged the gap between the Cartoon Cartoon days and the modern Cal Arts days. And maybe you're going to fault them for that..... but the alternative was CN Real.
Anyway, they were both great shows for their time. But I prefer Flapjack for its youtube.com

And it was good for half a season at most. I can't quite identify what it was, but the first half of both Chowder and Flapjack's season 1 were great. But by the end of Season 1, much less Season 2 they were really tired.
It was a candle who, though it only shined briefly, shined brightly all the same.

I watched a couple of episodes of squirrel boy and it's way better than I remember. I actually had a decent amount of laughs. it was still very slow paced and felt kinda bland, so I understand why it never caught on with kids back then. a shame in hindsight, since I've grown to really like Everett Peck's stuff

Not many other shows were good to keep people tuned in. Couple that with CNs never ending shifting of air times, and internet on the rise, nobody gave a shit.
