Show Recommendations

Alright Yea Forums I'm in a massive rut with shows to watch and I could use some help.

Shows I've really enjoyed in the past;

Dan Vs. - One of my all time favorites

American Dad - Writing is great and gets actual
laughs out of me now and then.

Regular Show - started dropping off by the last season but I still loved it.

Johnny Bravo - Hilarious classic

KOTH - Classic that everyone enjoys

Ugly Americans - decent and had it's own charm

Gravity Falls - didn't think I'd enjoy it at face value, but it was a good show throughout

EEE - another classic

Adventure Time - was okay, not great but not bad

Shows I've watched/re watched semi-recently

The Boondocks - writing held up well, love it

R&M - binged watch the entire thing last month after hearing about all the hype, loved the writing and was a fun show.

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated - I always avoided Scooby Doo growing up due to lack of interest but man this was a great show with good writing and I'm ashamed I never gave it a show when it originally aired.

Star Vs. - Not semi-recent but a binge watched the 1st season awhile back. It was okay but I'm not compelled to keep watching

SU - same boat as Star Vs. I watched the 1st 2 seasons and it wasn't bad but I wasn't compelled to continue

Batman Animated series - Coming from someone that doesn't really pay attention to Marvel, DC, etc. it was fantastic and holds up well.

Bob Burgers - some episodes I loved, others I had to force myself through.

TLH - It isn't a bad show and the writers know what they're doing but it's a bit boring to me

Duckman.

The Critic.

>Duckman
I've heard of it but never seen it, I'll check it out

>The Critic
Excellent show, loved it

None of these are great but they might hold you over until someone gives you better.
>American Dad & KOTH
Try F for Family. It ain't great but you might get attached to the 80s thing. If you want something more adult, try Archer.
>E&E&E
Craig of the Creek or Gumball might scratch that itch.
>R&M
Alien News Room if you thought the side writing or the SNL news room segments were any good.
>Star Vs
Victor & Valentino is going for that same vibe.

ATHF and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

Have you watched Avatar? Or Teen Titans? If not, what are you even doing here?

If you like Avatar, you need to watch W.I.T.C.H. If you like Teen Titans, you need to watch The Batman.

Also I'm gonna rec Oban Star-Racers because of a certain show you said you liked, though I won't say which one because that's pretty much a spoiler in itself.

Other general recs for great cartoons: TMNT 2003, Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, Kim Possible, and Duck Dodgers.

duckman is very similar to dan vs

I've seen all of Flapjack and I still loved the ending, shame they never reached Candy Island though. Never honestly never given ATHF a serious try. I've just seen the odd episode or funny clip but It's on the watchlist under Duckman now.

Apologies I didn't include a lot of the classics because most have seen them. Avatar was of course a quality show, Teen titans I've watched twice.

I haven't seen Megas in forever but I remember watching it on Toonami.

I rewatched the all of Samurai Jack back when S5 released, it was such a unique show that can''t be compared to anything. I've seen a tiny bit of Kim Possible but really it was always a show I just avoided as a kid, I'm reluctant but I'll give it a few episodes.

Duck dodgers I've rewatched twice aswell; I also forgot to mention The Looney Tunes Show as something I binged recently another good show I'm ashamed I just didn't watch when it was released. The writers absolutely nailed it and it besides the music numbers for kids, it was a nice slice of life.

I've also got Oban Star-Racers and The Batman on the watchlist now aswell. TMNT Isn't really my cup of coffee

Also thanks a ton Yea Forums for helping me out with suggestions

The first episode already had me laughing and then the ending was just out of no where.

It's looking promising, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it I've just heard the name thrown around a few times.

Mission Hill - like a hipper Simpsons focused on young adults, awesome 90s traditional ink-and-paint alt-comics artstyle. Holds up 100%

MTV’s Downtown - Very similar premise to Mission Hill except explicitly takes place in NYC and based on real people with a less sitcomy format. Ultra 90s, grimy but not unpleasant, and very unique in its animation and trippy diversions. Fun to watch, also shares a creative team and a character (Goat) with Megas XLR so it’s neat to see them do something adult-oriented

Ballmastrz 9000 - Parody of sports anime but you don’t have to like those to enjoy it, looks ugly in stills but has some of the most unique and active animation on current TV in motion, funny and well worth a shot.

Sym-Bionic Titan - Genndy’s John Hughes movie meets mecha anime show, totally something I think you’d like if you haven’t seen it

Clarence - A lot of people assume it’s a dumb gross-out show at first glance, and it can be that on occasion, but it’s also bursting with creativity, satire, and bittersweet nostalgia, plus some of those waxky EEn’E trio antics - so long as you find the title character endearing rather than annoying there’s a lot of joy to be had in it

It was on the USA Network, which wasn’t exactly known for its cartoons. It is a really good show, Gabor Csupo (of Klasky-Csupo) was classically trained in artsy animation in eastern Europe and like weird music like Frank Zappa, The Residents, and Devo, and Duckman was his favorite thing of anything they made

Also, goddamn Clone High

You really should watch W.I.T.C.H. first. Neither Oban nor The Batman come close in overall quality, it's better than Avatar even.

>T. W.I.T.C.H. fag

No need to point out the obvious.

Well, yes. But I also rec'd all the shows in so I do enjoy a lot of cartoons, it's just that W.I.T.C.H. is literally on another level.

Mission Hill used to be on Adult Swim right? I've heard but never seen, it's on the watch list.

I've never heard of MTV's downtown but again it's on the watchlist for sure.

Apologies I forgot to mention symbionic as well. I've re-watched it twice, once after Samurai Jack ended. It's such a bittersweet show for me because i loved it but it deserved atleast a second season.

I will admit back when Clarence was airing I'd seen a few promos for it and I just wasn't interested it looks pretty dumb but I can give it a fair shot.

>Ballmastrz 9000
I've heard good things about it but again I've never seen anything about it so I'll check it out

Clone High added to the watch list (I've never heard it honestly)

Avatar is a quality show, I'll add W.I.T.C.H in there aswell, thank you

Seen chowder, was alright

Flapjack was great

Billy & Mandy was of course a classic

Honestly I've seen a slight bit of magiswords and it doesn't look all that appealing to me.

Same goes for Archer

Oblongs is an underrated classic and way up there for me, shame it has so few episodes.

Drawn together was okay but doesn't hold up too well from when I watched it when it first aired

Teenage robot has it's episodes but I feel like people overrate it because they want to smash Jenny, it was pretty average but I enjoyed the movie. I've never seen the entire thing though

I've heard of hyperforce and remember some of the promos but never seen.

Danny phantom was good and and phantom planet was a decent end to the series

>never heard of Clone High
You are in for something very special

Making Fiends

the going outside and having sex show

I think buying that one is banned in my country...

It's only one episode, but Korgoth of Barbaria is great.

Duckman

The Venture bros is pretty fun.

what channel is that on?

Here’s a trick I do whenever I feel like I don’t have anything to watch, I choose a Network/Company, and try one episode of all their cartoons. If I like it I countinue watching it, if I don’t I skip it.

Not only will this help you find something to watch, but you also might discover some underrated shows, I discovered a show called Daria and I loved it.
