Serious question: what was it like around here when BVS debuted? How'd this shithole take it?
Serious question: what was it like around here when BVS debuted? How'd this shithole take it?
Everyone accepted it as kino and was hopeful for Justice League. And again, we were rewarded!
Nobody believed it when the leaks dropped and it revealed the Martha scene. Everybody thought it was a prank.
Contrarians and marketing shills were trying to damage control pretty hard.
And we taler found they mostly came from India and South America
Same as everywhere else. Laughed at for being a colossal pace of shit with a handful of Yea Forums contrarians autistically defending it in every thread
When the reviews were pouring in negative, it was hysterical. Everybody was losing their minds at how low the scores were but laughing at the people who thought it would be kino. It was probably one of the best times to be on Yea Forums to be honest
Then the Snydercultists and Yea Forums started taking over trying to pretend it was some underrated masterpiece which a bunch of kino shit everywhere. To be honest, BvS still gets talked about today for this same reason (not in a good way).
Before, it was a lot of people talking about how this was the downfall of the MCU, that it would be the biggest movie of all time.
After there was a lot of laughter. A lot.
>Everybody thought it was a prank.
I love when this happens like with Brain Stark becoming king and Nick Fury losing his eye to a cat alien
Did it get worse when CACW came out?
It was an absolute shitshow
There was a thread hyping up the drop of the first reviews, and as soon as they started to pour in all the hopefuls fell into depression and anger and the shitposters ran rampant with the crazy plot details they could gleam from the reviews (like Batman murdering people and such)
There used to be screencaps of that thread, but I didn't save any
By the time Civil War came out the Snyder defense force had their script/religion that they parroted every thread, while sensible DC fans just kind of fell into an apathy over the whole thing
controversial and a lot of shitposting
The heat died down but by that point the Snyder cult was in full force. It didn't matter that CW ran circles around BvS, they just knew their movie was the best thing ever and stayed in their little corner forever
>And we taler found they mostly came from India and South America
kek this always makes me laugh
I still don't understand the exceptionally negative reaction to this film. BvS is not the worst film ever made, or even the worst film of 2016.
Every meme was funnier than the last
>After there was a lot of laughter. A lot.
the moment that old article/interview was posted where Zack Snyder said Batman could get raped in prison in his movie, shit went bezerk.
Fun times.
>And we taler found they mostly came from India and South America
I totally forgot about that!
I also remember they were advertising the movie with said fake Twitter reviews because the real reviews were so negative
It's the OP here, this is fucking golden learning all this. Any archive links you guys dreg up are appreciated since I'm a brainlet when it comes to finding that stuff. Same for Justice League if you have it.
fucking incredible
The day the reviews came out was nuts. Everyone expected the movie to hit an easy billion and start an arms race.
I mean just based on name recognition if it had even been an average summer blockbuster it should easily have made 1 billion. Basically a good indicator of what kind of a trainwreck it was that it couldn't even do that.
We're still reeling from a few contrarian faggots trying to call it a misunderstood masterpiece
Word of mouth is pretty powerful
I still remember the anger and confusion people had over the leaked footage of Doomsday killing Clark.
The fight and Batfleck were unironically good
>Skwad will be good!
Should've had "B-but green screen! Abandoned lot!" to keep it 100% BvS related.
Why would anyone even care after they spoiled him in the trailers?
Because no one could really believe they shoved Death of Superman at the end of that fucking film
>A SECOND FRESH REVIEW!
Its fucking bizarre that you weren't here. You weren't drawn in by when Yea Forums was decent so why are you even here now? Was BvS really that long ago? Fuck.
Not as funny as when Fant4stic released
Nah, people actually had hope for BvS.
Fant4stic was a different kind of disaster. It was fun just seeing the train wreck happen, especially all the behind the scenes details that came to light. The cherry on top was Trank committing career suicide by twitter post
It was a lack of belief that they would do Death of Superman in the second movie
PRAYER CIRCLE!
But did we get a bingo???
Nobody gave a shit about Fant4stic. The only fun to come out of that were shills pretending it was some masterpiece but they couldn't keep it up. The behind the scenes story of the movie was the real fun
What was the worst of 2016?
No, but it was the greatest disappointment of 2016.
>disney paid for reviews
kek, good to know that one's been around for a while.
I still have no idea why people believe in paid shills.
You can fake that shit with false accounts for free, why pay anyone or anything?
people want to think disney's hideous amount of money is being used for something instead of being hoarded away to gather interest in some billionare's bank vault
Well they just had to buy Fox for an assload.
Can't forget about Hollywood accounting and how much money moves through that.
Other than obvious shit like lex luthor casting and the martha scene I through it was decent to good.
>Everyone accepted it as kino
Fuck off newfag. It was devisive as all hell. The only people calling it kino were sucking Snyder's cock every step of the way. The editing and story cuts were straight up garbage, the dialogue was embarrassing, and quite frankly tried to jam too much into an already bloated movie.
All that said, the Ultimate Edition was pure kino and fixed many of the previously listed issues. So many story holes were simply the result of poor editing.
>Again, we were rewarded!
Suck my dick user, JL sucked. I'll go to bat for BvS any day, but JL shit on any sense of consistency that Snyder tried to keep, any coherent themes. It became absolute garbage that tried to emulate Avengers and failed spectacularly, so much so that WB is gonna wrote it out of canon for any future DC movies they're doing.
I remember people trying to claim it was capekino when it obviously wasn’t. I’m pretty sure no one here liked it unironically and most of the posts were bait but that could be said for everything on Yea Forums.
Snyder had fuck all to do with JL. After his daughter died, he left the project and they hired Whedon to revamp the whole fucking thing.
Are you sure you're not talking about Justice League? Not trying to be a douche but I think you're mistaken.

Everyone was so sure it was going to be the greatest film of our time. More and more news kept coming out about the Justice League cameos and Doomsday and old Batman, but our heads were buried up our asses till the last second.
As you can tell, the meltdown was so bad, they still shitpost about it to this day.
Same. I hit my one year mark right before BvS hype started, and it feels so long ago in my life at this point. I can't imagine what some of the 2007 fags go through every time they get on and see current Yea Forums.
It is an underrated masterpiece, though.
