health week was the funniest. beach episode was cute. I appreciated Dark Plaza for stuffing as much lore and drama in as it did pretty effectively. Feels like a good finale to all the stuff they did in season 2.

Dude, you really need to study some anatomy and structuring (as in the raw shapes a character is made of). I like how much hustle and will to put sheer effort into drawing you have, but your lack of some base skills really comes trough, even when you do very stylized characters, and makes a lot of that effort go to waste. It has this disjointed unappealing quality to it. You would also do well to study movement.

But nobody knows if Season 3 will be the last or not. I personally think it might be, what with the closing of the P.O.I.N.T. plotline, as well as all these new CN shows that are getting greenlit and renewed for second seasons:

That drawing is badass, and leagues beyond what those salty douchebags could ever produce. It is a good, fun, clever drawing with solid anatomy, proportions and composition as well. Looks at the way Shannon's hair draws attention to that big fat bubble ass and also leads the eye up the arm in the reflection. Which in turn leads the eye up and around to her face. Your eye just flows around this pic, like it should for a solidly composed illustration like this one.

So everyone laugh at these sad art critic fucks. They're free to share their Sonichu drawings with the rest of the class the moment they find their balls.

Korean animators still usually animate on paper, and for the show Ian specifically requested for them to not ink the animation, preserving the pencil texture. The sparser lines like on KO tend to show up specifically in eps animated at SMIP

It wasn't a personal story specific to one character, but rather an epic, edgy play on dystopian resistance forces that wrapped up a lot of the show's lore in just 22 minutes. I personally loved "Dark Plaza" and think it managed its pacing and reveals pretty well, but I can sorta understand how most of Yea Forums seems to prefer the last season's more direct finale.

well techinically actually we've gotten the first eps to credit her as director (Gar Trains Punching Judy, OK AU, and Dark Plaza, though for all of them she wasn't director until post-post production)

what if I told you the only thing wrong with OK KO's animation is that it just shares that kinda robotic korean-animation look with all other shows animated with korea

I think OK KO just doesn't have a strong design director. Like, it's trying to do what Flapjack did, including some of the overly detailed (But not in a R&S painting kind of way) expressions that was also used in Adventure Time (That Ian worked on), but it ALSO is trying to incorporate a lot of Shin Chan visuals which never uses expressions like that.

Does it want to be goofy looking like how anime approaches simple cartoony faces or silly animation? Like how they'll animate things on 3's and 4's for comedic effect or have their hands turn into balls while they flail around? Or does it want to be more like a classic western toon that uses cartoony faces seen in Spongebob, Rocko, Flapjack?

Just kind of feels like it wants to use inspiration from everything. And the messy result is obvious.
