We need to have a talk about how irrevocably BASED the Hercules tv show was

>Hercules makes a clay waifu and summons Aphrodite to make it real
>Can you make her a little more curvy
>Uh ok that's curvy enough for you young man

Completely forgot this existed until now

>That Aladdin crossover

Best villain team up

So was this a precuel?

Literally take place during the training song time skip.

but he didn't recognize Hades during the beginning of the climax of the movie

Think of it like all the other animated series based on movies that don't fit continuity-wise, like Beetlejuice.

I remember watching this in 5th grade before school, shit was funny.

The Ares/Athena rivalry never got old

alternate timeline

Literally Kingdom Hearts

This and the aladdin series were both good, but aladdin will always be a bit more impressive because they didnt have a near bottomless well of episode concepts already written for them (well..maybe they did if they had done the research, but they preferred to make up their own crazy stuff in most cases)

The memory erasing water of the Lethe River was used as a plot device at least twice, so I assume there was another offscreen accident with it to account for Hades forgetting

was the theme song as based as i remembered it

Didn't they fight over Cupid's bow in one episode?

Prequel in the sense that it happens from after meeting Phil to before his first public venture in Thebes

Take a listen and see; youtube.com/watch?v=eQtzaTDoJi8

The series finale had both Hercules and Hades drink water from the river of forgetfulness, making them forget the events of the series (including the episode where Herc meets teen Megara). That way they don't remember each other when they meet again in the movie.

I remember the Medusa episode where they made her a qt

Wish Disney would show their 90s cartoons on their channels. They used to do it as a late night block but now they've totally disappeared from their channels.

>making them forget the events of the series
That's kind of fucked.

this is an alternate version of the movie song. still good tho

based

>yes indeed
>wait and see

kino

Heard they were bringing it all back when they get that streaming service up and running.

Kinda the only way around it. In the movie, Hades throws a fit when he finds out Herc is an adult and wasn't killed as a baby by Pain and Panic. You'd have to use the amnesia plot device to get around him being in Hercules the Series.

You wan to play the cartoon series theme song game?

>that episode where Hephaestus crafts a weapon for Ares, the Armageddon Bow
>near the end Ares finds out it talks
>and is a girl
>"HEPHAESTUUUUUS!"
>echoes all the way to Hephaestus's forge
>"Girl bow. I crack myself up."

>it's a Hephaestus cucks Hades episode

love it

That's a pretty good opening for a spin-off cartoon.

youtube.com/watch?v=jvRlyA3uUW0

Reminder that Recess is the true disney-tv kino

Love the fact that Cupid takes it too.

i liked adonis.

I'm pretty sure they used the actual Phil Collins audio

youtube.com/watch?v=sbZZKEJXz9U

Honestly, I pretty much love all of Disney's cartoon intros from back then. Makes me wish they had a many cartoons running now as they did then; youtube.com/watch?v=LSgy8Loi1c8

Weekenders was kino

disneyshercules.fandom.com/wiki/Nemesis

Hercules has the best minor villains. Her main reason for being pissed at Hercules was that she too was a demigod and she had to time share her temple, whereas Herc got the celebrity treatment

Attached: Nemesis2.jpg (640x480, 57K)

Remember that episode when Hercules got morning wood and Phil told him to not touch himself so Herc got raging erections in the most awkward situations and didn't know what to do haha

Would.

This was my favorite of the spinoff shows

They had a gangster lobster as a villain

But then how did Hercules remember the events of his teen years after the movie? Wasn't the premise of the series that Phil was showing Megara Hercules' old yearbooks?

>Wasn't the premise of the series that Phil was showing Megara Hercules' old yearbooks?
That was the premise of the clip show.

I'd rather they had HD upscales

This alongside the Aladdin cartoons felt like the writers were having fun and didn't have to stick to a Formula

The Kuzco cartoon was also great

DIdnt they do a new Lion King show?
They should do new shows of their movies

Is it just me or is this INFINITELY superior in animation compared to the other shows?

user that's not a fair fight

youtube.com/watch?v=CGTATk2wepg

I love Aphrodite's theme song that played every time she showed up

>Kuzco
>Hercules
>Little Mermaid

>Aladdin
>Tarzan

So, your Disney show. Will it be pre/sidequel, maybe in a school setting, or will it be sequel after the main dish?

>They should do new shows of their movies
Aren't there currently running Tangled and Big Hero 6 shows? Seems to me they never stopped.

Unironically had the greatest waifus in american animation.

Those two are relatively recent.

Between the end of Tarzan and Emperor's New School, I can't remember any other shows based on Disney movies until Tangled and BH6

well there was Lilo and Sitch

didn't they also want to do an Atlantis show that became the second movie?
well most disney movies from the 00's fucking sucked

aladdin was good until this faggot showed up. I wanted to torture him as a kid. these joker characters that are untouchable, can do anything, deserve to be tortured. fuck them. they fill me with endless hatred.

Attached: Chaos_(Aladdin).jpg (619x464, 37K)

user? Where did the Sphinx touch you?

discord from the faggot horse show too. I would break them until they could do nothing but stare blankly.

Attached: MasterOrder.jpg (154x208, 13K)

>Aphrodite makes a clay girl for Hercules.
>cuts him off from requests because he keeps wanting to make her curvier

Attached: Hercules Curvy.gif (400x292, 655K)

The Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs series did the same idea. It's a prequel but they meet for the first time in the movie, so in the series they say he invented a memory wipe machine to erase her memory of her friends when she moves away.

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 94K)

This entire scene had gorgeous animation, too. I'm not even sure why. It was better than the Aladdin DTV movies, at least just for a little bit.

Also, it's fucking based how they got James Woods back. They couldn't even get David Spade back for Kuzco.

Why the ever loving fuck did they think a generic story about two geeks in school was a better premise for a kids cartoon than two wacky adults living in a sentient food island world?

Woods jumped at the chance to reprise the character, he loves Hades. It's why he even does it for fucking Kingdom Hearts, he dubbed Hades in for the Japanese games. Not particularly well, but he did it.

Between the end of Emperor's New Groove and Tangled, I can't remember any Disney movies, desu.

Are they together? If not you probably have your answer.

Predates KH but it's somehow KH?

No. But since when was romance a defining factor? Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Star Vs, Avatar, Korra, and a shit ton of Disney movies are all about teens or older characters in romance stories.

Back in the day there was "Timon and Pumbaa" that was basically a silly slapstick show with purposefully no regards to canon (and it is great) and recently they made The Lion Guard that is on its second season and basically is "Kid-friendly Borderpatrol/COPS with Lions" that /tries/ to be Canon to the movies but breaks it with the very premise.

i must have missed that episode. overall though they had some pretty creative concepts for villains/plots

True, but it just seems weird for a guy and a girl being together like that but not romantically involved.

Timon and Pumbaa was great apart from Timon's voice changing every other episode. Sometimes it was Quinton Flynn (Axel from KH, Raiden from MGS) which is hilarious in hindsight.

I watched it dubbed because that was the only way i could watch it back in the day, so i had no idea, reminds me that i should watch it again in the actually intended language.

>Deus ex water
Impressive bullshit

Those dumb Disney cartoons based on the movies were absolute garbage.

I thought some were alright.

Woods literally has in his contract that only he gets to voice Disney's Hades.

youtube.com/watch?v=8NT0BqR8Qwk

This show was so good

>Clay girl goes full T-1000 in her pursuit to make sure NOTHING comes between her and Herc.

I kind of want to start the film, watch through the show, and then finish the film

>youtube.com/watch?v=j_H9B68PDpg

>Take Greek mythology and make everyone and everything modernized
>An actual urban Greek mythology fantasy
It shouldn't work, but holy wow did they make it work

This show is a treasure trove of slender statuesque women.

>Woods literally has in his contract that only he gets to voice Disney's Hades.

Do you have anything to back that up? It's too good to be true

Attached: That is bullshit but I believe it.jpg (500x500, 26K)

Not him but come on, this is the guy who regularly plays himself.

I found it rushed and lacking. Should've been a two parter with a part for each series. I still liked what I got.

My favorite part is the fact that this sort of convenient plot bending bullshit was exactly what the concept of Lethe water was invented for in the first place in ancient Greek tragedies. It fits perfectly.

its based on the great escape, of course its kino

I think what helped make Aladdin and Hercules work so well was all of the source material in the settings the writers could refer to. Aladdin could pick a character or plot or monster from any of the 1001 Arabian nights or just do its own thing, and Hercules was the same with greek mythology. In contrast, I remember watching the Little Mermaid show as a kid, and from what I can remember, they sometimes kinda struggled to come up with creative plots or worldbuilding in their setting.

probably wouldn't work too well, they're kind of different continuities.

He may not have a contract but he LOVES the character and will happily come back to voice him.

WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE VEGAS?

Dont you love it when an actor loves their character
It's a treat every single time and I cherish it

Sounds like that Batman Beyond episode where the nerd gets himself a robo-waifu that tries to murder any real girls that get close to him.

desuarchive.org/mlp/search/text/turns you retard/
Literal autism.

Attached: 1471213951717.jpg (500x500, 18K)

Fun fact about me, I watched this show all the time as a little kid without knowing that there was a movie, I didn't see the film until I was like 12

>snaps fingers
>turns you into a fat retard

BLACK GUY, WOMAN, GET IN HERE
I HAVE SPOTTED AN IRREGULARITY

So someone snapped their fingers and turned you retarded?

tfw he asked for her to be taller TWICE and aphrodite still didnĀ“t deliver in the product. Gods these days...

I loved his cameo
