How bad is Kamp Koral gonna be?

They should've called it Kamp Koral Kidz.

It's gonna be like Camp Lazlo, just okay.

how many of you americans were actually in a camp during your childhood?

I had asthma, so any chance of camp kinda just shot me by.

Do kids even go to camp anymore? I thought the current generation of parents hate leaving their children with strangers.

It sounds very kiddie/preschool to me. Is it going to air on Nick/Nicktoons or Nick Jr.? It’s weird, because SpongeBob has always been an all-ages show that can be enjoyed if you have the patience to sit through an 11-min toon.

Also camp is expensive, like $500 for one week. At that price, there's more things for kids to do.

Plenty. Just look at George Takei.

Has anyone pointed out that Viacom turned down Camp Weedonwancha, a comic about kids all by themselves at a camp only to then make a spongebob spin-off where everyone is a kid that goes a Camp?
It really does feel like Viacom just looked at a pilot they rejected and decided to slap Spongebob on it for maximum profit

I was poor so never ever

If the CGI is like in the 2nd movie, the show can be a little less bad.

I know that the local Boy Scout troop still goes to a Summer Camp for like a week. A couple of my youngest cousins are going there in a few weeks.

Plenty of times, I live in the glorious mid-west so camping is pretty common.

I was a boy scout growing up and would go to summer camp every summer
but it was like a week long and by the end we were ready to either storm hell's gates as comrades or strangle each other to death depending on how well the week went

A lot. Do they even have forests in Europe anymore fag?

To follow up thought I do not no anyone who attended the generic "summer long camp in the middle of nowhere with strangers" though
its a stereotypical setting with no base to it

I went to a day camp on a military base for like a week. They had a forensic scientist show up and he showed us a bunch of really graphic crime scene photos despite the majority of the group being below the age of 10. The ones that stuck with me the most were a picture of a man who committed suicide by shoving a circular saw into his forehead and another of a man that had his face eaten off by his pets after he OD'd.

It can be saved if it turns out to be a cross between Krabby land and Kamp Krusty

Now Gen Alpha gets to enjoy some brain damage!

Not really, the tone of the two aren't really comparable and I doubt it crossed anyone's mind. This is obviously a case of finding a gimmick for the character, not the other way around

Why are they rebooting? Are contracts expiring?

>total drama babies
>muppet babies 2
>spongebob babies

Why is this happening again!?

Wait, there's a Muppet Babies 2?
Why?

I went to summer school because I was horrible at my grades. Somehow managed to get threw college because our education system is so shit.

Hillenberg is dead and there is money still to be made.

We are reverting back to the 80s thanks to the amount of corporatism interfering with the animation industry. But it's not so bad, especially since Filmation and Hanna-Barbara no longer exist. People don't realize that "beanface" cartoons were decided by the producers. Not the artists themselves. They want all cartoons to become bright and friendly and never have any action or adventure into them. Hell, I'd consider something like "Craig of the Creek" to be a shitter version of Ed Edd 'n' Eddy. It's just repeating the same concepts over and over again. This however could spawn something similar to what we got in the early 90s eventually. We might be witnessing a golden age that's starting to sprout.

I'm not from USA but I was on one once since I was part of the scouts, it was a nice experience

I went to a Christian summer camp
My counselor and I talked about star wars a lot and he ended up becoming an atheist and he plays d&d with me.

So that means that 2030 Yea Forums will have threads that say "Summer camp Island was great! Why do cartoons these days suck?"

We just went camping on a patch of land owned by the family up north.
Shit was cash.

Fun fact: Kamp Krusty was originally going to be The Simpsons Movie, but they could barely fit enough content into it for a episode, let alone a film.
Still a great episode.

I went to bible camp for a week solely because my friends were all going and we got to ride go karts. Found out I was too short once I was there and had to go with them and watch every day. Shit myself one day before getting in the pool and had to tell my counselor and that pissed him off.

I cried so fucking hard when I got home from that hell hole.

>Threw college
Go figure.

Lots of camps, boy scout camp, church camp, nature camp, do Europeans not go to camp in the summer?

Reminder the execs are dancing on the man’s grave while he rolls over in agony

are there any caps from when this was first announced a while back? I feel like there were greentexts about what shit people were predicting would happen

It was originally announced as being the premise of the third movie, and now it’s a show - whether the movie is still being made and will have the same premise as this show is unclear

It'd be quite the trick to get involvement from Hillenburg.

Went to camp-camp twice, Space Camp twice but the second time was a fucking miserable experience because the other people in my room hated me and tried to beat the shit out of me, and a few Boy Scout outings.

...I was a weird kid and never fit in. I had pockets of fun and good times but was also really not cut out for the interaction parts.

>I was a weird kid and never fit in
I can't speak for you but literally everyone in my scouting troop was a "weird kid" just with varying degrees of weirdness
were were all dipshits having fun

>were were all dipshits having fun
With your cocks, together, you mean?

Well... Apart from him being dead n' all.

Corporations should not have property rights.

back in 5th grade there was an optional camp we could only go to if we sold a certain amount of candy bars for some fundraiser. it was great, one of the best months of my life.

Our parents could get time off. People went to one week-long themed camp, max. Only people that went any longer were unwanted children

a week of rooming, meals, and supervision for $500 isnt a terrible deal

a week long family vacation costs over $700 just in hotel price

Same here user, but for me it was like camping with bros doing bro stuff. Shit was pretty comfy.

Funny. Camp Lazlo was criticized for being too similar to Spongebob, now we have this.

I did.
It was alright.

that's not funny.jpg

Overall it just feels slimy.
Nick pretty much waited for Hillenburg to die to start the Spongebob spin-off train. Kamp Koral will be the first of many I think.

funny you mention that because we were spared "the gay kid"
we did know a troop with a legit gay kid though and god damn he was annoying

I went to a "day camp" a few summers when I was really young. It was just a four hour thing at the elementary school in the summer.

>Kamp Koral will be the first of many I think
>I think
user this is just the beginning

this reminds me of that one story about that one restarted DC exec who though the key to Iron man 1 was the jet fighter chase and wanted to do a bat man top gun film
as the legend goes thats how we got green lantern

It's probably best to just accept it. Now Hillenburg's gone, Nick can do whatever the fuck they want with Spongebob. Literally a dream come true for them, as slimy and evil as that sounds.

Yeah, Jon peters, he also wanted to make a superman movie where he fights a giant spider
he then produced wild wild west

I thought summer camp was one of those outdated things that are still used in TV shows, like malt shops or arcades. I've only met one person that I know of that's every actually been to camp. I'm not sure if they aren't popular in California or what

Ive never went to camp and im glad i didnt considering all the molestation stories ive heard goes on at camps.

I meant funny in an "I'm actually seething" sort of way. I actually enjoyed Camp Lazlo, it was around S1 of Spongebob when it came to laughs. I think most of the people upset at the show were just expecting Rocko's Modern Life: At Camp.

>he didn't wanted any SpongeBob spin-offs
>Now that he is dead they make one

Jesus these fuckers are disgusting

About as many forests as they have wolves .

I've been hearing this a lot

Stephen Hillenburg is rolling in his grave right now. He specifically says no Spongebob spin off. But seeing how Hillenburg don't own the rights to Spongebob anymore, Nickelodeon don't care. Even if Hillenburg was still alive, Nick would reboot Spongebob anyways

>Kid version of a character who is already childish

It would be like making a kid version of mr. bean

sad thing is this thing is probably gonna get a shit ton of views and Nick will be rewarded for raping Hillenburg's memory. Then again, I don't know who would be stupid enough to watch the same show on the same channel, just with the characters "aged" down, even though they were already childish to begin with

I went to a camp for kids who liked playing Go. I played with Michael Redmond 9 Dan, the only American to achieve that rank, and he gave me one of his books.

There were a few camps I went to. First camp was girl scout camp which was three days & two nights of being the blunt end of the stick. Then almost my entire fifth grade class minus some speds went to an environmentalist camp. Not bad, though the environmentalist angle was bullshit (they had this dumb narrative & were anti-mowing). Last camp was business camp in high school, but it was on a college campus for a week. That camp was the best of the three, but it wasn't completely amazing.
