There’s this guy with a green ring that can create anything. His name will be Emerald Candle

>have idea for comic
>Can't draw
>Have several, several pages of story and plot written down
>Have contracted 5 different artists to make it
>All have either backed out or cancelled due to pay dispute

Being talentless is suffering

Why can't you just pay your artists?
Also pitch it.

Do what Mike Judge did: Take a class or find some books at your local library and the rest should fall into place. That's how he came up with all his shit.

The two that backed out do to pay wanted $300 a page plus 70% revenue that the comic would make over 3 years. Fuck that shit

look at this talentless loser. everyone point and laugh

Attached: arnie laughing you.png (633x464, 286K)

Not an exact idea per see but ever since that autist fuck posted his idea about a scientist trying to save his cat with tits by starting a war against God I got so angered by his stupid fucking idea I decided to steal his story and make it better.
Then Rick & Morty came out and I'm afraid that if I commit to it, people will accuse me of copying the show.

So I dropped any pretensions of doing comics and I writes solely for other shits that actually maters.

How intricate are these pages? Also 70% does seem too much.

>I actually finished writing my pitch for a horror romance cartoon
>just working on the designs now.
>I'm too scared to post it on the internet, because I have a feeling someone will steal my ideas.
Anyday now guys,Anyday...

I didn't think that intricate. I could be wrong though

I'm 30 years old and I've not really created anything worth mentioning before, but I really wanted to create a comic set in a fantasy world of monsters about a cease fire during a war between magic and machines.

But I don't consider my artwork/writing that strong, should I even before at this age? Will it be a waste of time?

Picture related is something I drew for something else, would this art style bother you in a comic?

Attached: testpic.png (1268x457, 299K)

That's the reason this threads exists, so we can steal your core ideas but change them slightly so you wouldn't notice

>a horror romance cartoon
I'm intrigued. Do go on.

bother* typo

It's called Billy and the Cloneasaurus.

I actually like that art style a lot user. Be careful to find that right balance between details and bloating your panels and I think you'll be good.

yeah I have this issue. Every frame test I ever do is either too empty or too chaotic. I've tried years upon years of getting it right and it never works. Why it's been delayed so long, I didn't want to fuck it up. Better never than bad.

>Can't draw

I know that feel

Basically it's this guy who discovers that a cult had been active on his town.
The cult wants to conjure demons and use them as weapons to take over the world with semi-immortal killing machines.
He stops one of the rituals accidentally freeing one of the princesses of hell from the house of Morningstar and as a reactionary attack she bonds their souls together.
So now he has to live with her and try to have a normal life.
It's kind of a parody of "Supernatural Buddy" shows only the enemies they face are lovecraftian horror monsters or parodies of Popular monsters but darker.
The romance subplot comes from the guy and the demon,it's implied that the soul bonding is a form of marriage in the underworld and as the series goes on Demon girl starts to like living a normal life on the Earth-relm,while The guy starts to get more tired of the lovecraftian monster than scared.

It's called "spinster stories" about my life as an ugly autistic woman. And unlike Tomoko or whatever who is still a cute Asian girl, this comic is gonna be gross and it's gonna be sad.

I also have some fantasy and science fiction stories in the works.

>Vinyl Nights

>Taking place 300 years in the future in an alternate timeline where the Coldwar went hot in 1965
>Civilization is finally beginning to rebuild itself
>In this new world the most valuable commodity are the vinyl records found among the ruins of the old world
>Believed to be everything from simple entertainment to holy scripture society has begun being rebuilt around every word etched in the black discs.
>To find these, several thousands of prospectors now search the world hoping to strike it rich and find the mother load.
>The story follows one of these vinyl hunters

The biggest mistake one can make when producing something is to over think it. It doesn't matter if you spend years thinking about what you want to draw or write if at the end of the day, nothing is done. Don't think it, just do it. If it sucks, it sucks but at least you'll get a page done which you can revise later on.

I'm not an artist but that's my motto when I'm writing my shits.

29 myself

Not a comic but really want to write a fantasy book. God it hurts that I haven't written anything down or drawn. Basically just a bunch of pre-writing stuff.

30 here. I started a fantasy novel 4 years ago. I got 135 pages of the plot of the first two books written out and 15 of the actual thing. Don't give up.

A small family that has silly antics!

Attached: Cover_art_1.jpg (436x436, 200K)

I just started so, does this still apply?

you've got to be kidding me, user.

Already have 194 pages written. Three episodes written. Just need to partner up with an artist.

You're not that Urea crystals chick are you?

A roguelike in comic form.
>MC dies all the time but learns from his deaths
>Radass fight scenes with the MC using all kinds of weapons and magic
>Running gags
>MC discovers more and more different things with each "run"

Don’t tell me what to do

Does MC have muscle memory deja vu to go along with it?

>Vinyl Nights
Oh....OH! clever.

Don't post anything you might actually do. Idea threads are exclusively for us people who's entire creative output is exclusively day dreaming while stocking shelves or for the two or three hours laying in bed waiting to fall asleep.

I mean, if it's just a pitch is there any real harm?

Anthro horse girl gotta make deliveries of all sorts in a high competitive business

Pony Express!

>4 years
>135 pages of brainstorming and 15 of actual writing

lol I don't think you ought to be talking about giving up

If I could, I'd probably just do one about one of the quests I've done on the quest board.

Work on your hands, nigga, wtf is this shitty DeviantArt tier peace sign

EVERY NIGHT I WAKE UP STEAMING

I have this idea for a comic where a teen gets bitten by a spider that gives him powers and calls himself "The Human Spider"

Don’t think you’re clever, You’re just trying to steal my idea!

Cause i suck, better than nothing

The key is to pitch ideas you want to see but aren't going to do.

Takes place in an archaic village centered in the clearing of a surrounding dense forest. This forest is feared for the spirits that inhabit it, so all the citizens wear masks that let their god see and protect them. Magic is feared and restricted. Only the Chieftain Priest may use it, and in very little capacity such as prayer and rain dances. A plague has threatened the village the village's populace, but the Godhead forbids using magic to affect the body.
Then, a familiar face appears. A warlock, once exiled returns with a barbarian army. From their, everything gets worse.

I've actually written the entire script to this story. Hoping to get it published someday

Mother fucker. I have a life. I don't dedicate every waking moment to writing. It's just a hobby

How much per page are you offering and how many pages?

It's been years since I've heard of Nicholas and his tits cat. What was your idea anyway?

Am i missing something?

I remember an old idea that was basically based on what I thought Monster Hunter kind of was.
The story opens up on the future. Technology has progressed to the point where we can make giant artificial islands and maybe even sky cities to support humanty's large population. As the population grows they experience regular Earthquakes, eventually a giant country sized monster emerges from the ocean, and hordes of smaller giant monsters emerge along with it.
Humanity is basically decimated, the island cities are hit hardest since the Giant Monster was literally large enough to displace the ocean levels and basically have them collapse down to the sea bed and get washed away when the tides returned. After the calamity the largest monster returned to sleep and the rest just roam the Earth. Humanity realized that the monsters are attracted to centers of human activity, the bigger the center the larger the monster it'll attract from over the distances. Larger cities are capable of building up defenses that can hold larger monsters at bay. Smaller settlements can usually be lucky enough to avoid the really big ones, if they do pass through it's like dealing with a hurricane or tornado, just hunker down until it moves on. Their issues are usually more the smaller monsters that take notice of smaller groups of people. They're dealt with by guns for hire with different ways of dealing with monsters like heavy artillery, heavy Calvary, or mechs. There are massive armored caravans that travel around bringing supplies and deliveries to different places, speedy deliveries are done by jet couriers which are sonic jets. Some people have psychic links with monsters, one idea was a guy who runs a monster circus and forces monsters to re-enact historical wars but with the countries as Kaijus. Some cutting edge tech would be being able to make people physically capable of matching Kaijus strength.

It's the story of a guy who has absolutely no creative desire to ever conceive of or draw a comic. Or draw in general.

A moving tragedy indeed, user.

That art reminds me a lot of Darkest Dungeon. As long as its consistent throughout I personally wouldnt consider it a bother.

In the end it was going to be revealed that the monsters were from an alternate reality, where they developed as the dominant lifeforms. However there was a reality between theirs and ours with a being that was basically link between us and became aware of us. Then they wanted to see us meet. The reason monsters are attracted to large human populations is because our psychic energy annoys them.

Don't you remember sprite comics? All the fun of making a comic, no art skills required!

>be amateur comic artist/storyboarder
>have to work full time and won't quit and try to live off commissions because that's too iffy
>work slow

Who would want to pay for a comic and get two pages a month because that's all I have time for.

I have problems defining the drawing style. I like Megg, Mogg and Owl, but I don’t want anthropomorphic characters.

Old Man James Bond and Xander Cage (Vin Diesel from xXx) are sent after Jason Bourne
After tons of over the top action Bourne is overwhelmed and decides to fake his death (Again) to escape from them.
I'm sure I can drag John Wick into this but I still have to watch those movies.

Sounds good. When is it coming out?

Kid dies and has their soul fall into a sort of purgatory, guided on by a motherly spirit who is fearful of their safety and tries to show them the way of this new world while keeping them safe.

I'm actually working on my second comic with an artist and colorist.

It's called BITE. It's about how three shark humanoids who were once in service to an evil organization went straight after said organization fell. Now events are coming out that are forcing them back into their old violent lifestyle.

Still working on the elevator pitch. Getting a preview version ready for an upcoming con.

I'll storytime it here after the con is over

JAWSOME, I loved Street Sharks.

It's about a world filled with demons and other spiritual beings that one guy insists are real but every other character in it prefers pretending they're not so they try to convince him he's insane.

You wanna know something funny? This originally started as a joke 'what if Street Sharks got an R-rated reboot' script I was writing with my friend. Would've had Vin Diesel in it as Bends.

As I began writing it I started liking the general concept more and more. So I took out the Street Sharks part and ran with different stuff from there.

Hello. :)

>all this unoriginality in this thread
It feels like I've already sit through most of these, especially all these overdone monster world stories ffs.

Very cute and wholesome. All you need really is some more strips.

Attached: ST1.jpg (620x877, 116K)

That's pretty good actually. With all that solved, you ought to get to the final writing soon.

Attached: ST2.jpg (620x877, 127K)

Attached: ST3.jpg (620x877, 135K)

That's all of it so far.

Attached: ST4.jpg (620x877, 124K)

Holy moly. Did you start uploading this comic somewhere else, user? I like it.

I'm interested. Got a link to a site or something?

Underrated. This is definitely the best project on this thread right now.

Not a comic but I wanted to make a horror visual novel
I'm such a shitty procrastinator that in order to out off actually writing anything down I decided that I wanted to make my own journal out of leather for the process.
I made the journal over like a week and haven't written down a thing over the past month

This would work great if it turned out the guy is actually schizophrenic, yet there's no way for him to discern what's real and what's not. Also make it a slice of life.

No, Stan, you didn't have this ideia.

This is cute, make more

>Undertale but it's a comic.
Still sounds really promissing as long as it doesn't devolve into virtual reality bullshit at the end.

I want to make a porn comic where Pearl gives sex ed to Steven and Connie, and they all fuck

did they do that to the animals too?

Taking 30% just for the writing in a comic book is an ok share. $300 is just advance payment, in case it flops.

Not him but 70% of revenue is outrageous. 70% profits, maybe, but that remaining 30% revenue would likely go to production costs. Aside from that, he isnt just writing the book, he came up with the premise of it

Just go ahead with it then, you don't even need to draw well - bad artwork might actually add value to a comic like that.

Will you tell me how it ends?

The daily life of two farmers who spent their free time sitting at the porch of their local farming supply store

Probably. Maybe there's some sort of time loop going on justifying just why he keeps coming back and "bosses" come back after death.
For example: He dies or barely scrapes by against a boss, but after subsequent runs he thrashes the boss without issue.

Maybe things get slightly meta around the end once the time loop's fucked with but none of that blatant fourth wall breaking.

I dunno why I'm saying all this I'm not even gonna make a comic

Nips beat you to it.
>start conversation with "let's run away together" and end it with "actually I love another girl"
Subaru is such a dick, holy shit.

tfw can draw but have zero ideas and am too much of a coward to put myself out there and rub elbows or whatever the word is to find a writer

Writing is also a skill you can master, user.

>they find the body of a famous man, heavily scarred
>older guy starts to tell the story of a boy from the city who lived through the time of great collapse that changed the world and made it dark.
>story of a post-apocalypse king begins in a city that is falling apart, we know the hero will end up dead on a battlefield
>whole thing is just a long streak of ways for me to make observations about power, loyalty, trust, love, luck and fate.
>all overshadowed by the fact you know he's headed for that cold dark field
Been tacking notes to a board for about 6 months, putting them in order, might take another 6 to get it all drawn.

Attached: range8376456.jpg (500x276, 114K)

you got any designs?

nah, i've seen great stories told with smudges and scratches and trying to 'draw real good' just leads to you breaking your heart mind and hands like Dave Sim. Better to get the info across in an efficient way that doesn't annoy the reader too much. Richard Corben was a great hero of mine but everything he does is so heavy.

even blobs and scratches have to be designed. just say you don't have anything to show if you don't.

Been doing short one-shot sci-fi stories with an artist and started a page called Filthy Sleeves Studios. Mostly as a way to have an online portfolio of finished comics, but also just to have a blast. So far we've done introspective hard sci-fi, goofy pulpy scoundrels in space, galactic horror, and now we're working on an interdimensional trucking road movie story. All over here: tapas.io/FilthySleeves

I'm also currently writing the script for a martial arts story pitch about a police officer in 80s Hong Kong who joins an undercover operation and has to act like a cryptic, mercurial assassin for hire.

This sounds and looks amazing and I want more.

Is the end of the world, and the few survivors discuss if is worth to reproduce or just enjoy also the end of the human race. Is comedy.

Ask and yee shall receive, I've only got character art so far but pages are being worked on currently.

First is Warrick, a great white and self-proclaimed leader of the trio. In story he's the most put together after they went straight.

Truman, tiger shark and used to be the most violent/destructive member back when they worked for the organization DREAD. Nowadays he works as a storyboard artist on a cartoon and became somewhat a pacifist. Violent imagery does act as a 'trigger' for him to regress back into his old form of thinking.

Not really too reflected in this pic but hey it all comes out in issue.

Yeah I noticed the bullets on the belt are backwards. Told the artist that and he'll fix it before we go to print in July

Olivia, whitetip reef shark and now in the role of the most violent/eccentric one. She's not the brightest one and usually prefers to talk with her fists, knives or guns.

These are great. Will keep an eye out for your comic in the future.

Good luck, user.

For the upcoming preview we were working on some designs of the troops for the organization they used to work for. Called DREAD it's a very Cobra-esque group so we sought out to make their designs very toyetic.

We're assembling an ashcan copy that's around 12 pages in length. It's going to have a comic of 8 pages while the rest will be character bios and sketches. Con isn't till august but like I said maybe I'll storytime it here early since we're gonna complete it by end of this month or in july.

>Tell us about the comic idea you have, and I'm sure you'll start working on ANY day now.
oh no no no ha ha
no
it's a ton of shitty visual novels I'll never finish now

What's the problem?

Sure
>A drunk, retired 1930s era cartoon character gets into shenanigans at the local bar.
>An old head of a company, desperate for the attention he doesn't get from his family or co-workers, teams up with a young girl to become a supervillain duo.
>In order to keep his father alive, a boy must take on the form of a creature and kill 13 people a month. Determined to not become a true monster, he swears to only take the lives of criminals.
>A little girl is raised as the apprentice of a chef in hell known as the "Underbaker".

I was drawing a comic with only black and white but I ran into a wall because on of the random background characters I was coloring is supposed to be black/ethnic or whatever and I'm not sure how to color his skin if at all.

When I look for samples online like the boondocks it seems to always be people just using a midtone to color in their skin which isn't in my comic at all. Ive only been using black or white so far.

Attached: boondocks sample.jpg (920x312, 53K)

Why didn't you think about this before?

>tfw I spent a decade learning how to draw got really good became disillusioned
>realized overtime that I drew mostly because it was fun to do with friends
>realized drawing isn't as important as story in a comic, being able to draw mood and ideas clearly is the minimum needed and you can practically scribble that shit and get the same effect if not a more interesting one
>realized writing is a much more immersive medium anyways after reading a couple dozen good books and things like that
>also realized that as I got older I found peoples opinions matter less and less to me and I have no desire to impress them ergo no desire to show off any kind of narrative, value my alone time more than anything
>I just draw bbw monstergirl porn for myself occasionally and have no idea what else to do with the skills i've harnessed

it's a weird feel man.

Attached: DiFQ1HBUcAAs38q.jpg (500x186, 26K)

I just have like a couple random background characters that are black their race isn't really important at all. Its just shots of crowds.

Its not talent. Its hard work to learn how to draw. Everyone can do it, it just takes time and effort!

>Delenda

>Taking place in Gaul during the final days of the Western Roman Empire. Two siblings, Junius, 15, and his younger sister, Adriana, 7, live with their parents in a small village.
>One day while they were out playing in the woods nearby, the village is attacked by a group of barbarians, killing everyone in the village.
>junius decides that they need to make their way to Rome where their Grandmother lives.
>On their journey they encounter corrupt Governors, disloyal legions, and barbarian incursions that impede their quest.
>Will they make it to the center of the world or will their lives end with Rome

Use some shading techniques then, this isn't the best image but there are plenty of ways you can get different shades of dark across using only black and white colouring.

Attached: Shading.jpg (540x381, 43K)

This won't help him if his style doesn't use any of these across the rest of the art. If you just air-drop a third tone or an approximation into a purely binary style, it'll clash as hard as throwing in a gray color.

Jason Bourne accidentally steals John Wick's car while trying to get away from Bond and Cage.

I made this thing while I was in high school with a friend https(:)//drive(.)google(.)com/file/d/1bk1GMiqos041YPyWEG2KQVjXdisPb6YL/view?usp=sharing. Tried to get it to the Pixelatl but didn't get picked up. At that time I could only draw digitally with mouse and it was quite painful.

Damn, that's good.

A parody of Dante’s Inferno with bunnies.

It'll be left open whether the demons and stuff are real or if he is just schizophrenic. Definitely be a slice of life, though.

I’ll let you all on a little secret; people use these “idea” threads to adopt them as if they were their own, and you can’t exactly do anything about it or claim plagiarism since you never used these ideas you exposed anyway.

I’m one of these people, by the way, so thanks a lot for giving me these free ideas, jackasses.

Well, if you really don't have anything interesting to show to people and doesn't really value contributing to culture, I guess that's the way.

A short comic where the mc becomes dissilusioned and becomes a Yea Forums loner wouldn't be bad btw.

I've already finished one. It's out in stores in October. I hope people like it. But if not I've got other stuff I'm working on. I'm really hoping I can do something with this giant monster hacker pitch I'm developing.

Attached: 1542294651487.jpg (400x600, 145K)

You’re right, it’s actually called Attack of the Cloneasaurus.

Would read

I've known a guy online for over ten years now, and have always been a big fan of his drawings.
He's apparently always suffered from severe depression and doesn't think the stuff he draws are worth anything.
Sometimes he'll post stuff on his Facebook, and he has such cute characters, and I KNOW that if he'd set his mind to it, he could create something special, even if just a webcomic.
The thing is, all he does is work to support his wife and kid, and with the depression thing, I have no idea how to tell him I think he should go for it and produce something with his art.

I guess what I'm getting at is, what would be the best way to suggest it to him? I've only known him online, and have never met him in person. I don't want him to feel like I'm telling him what to do, I just hate seeing talent going unused.

Offer to work with him on it? I've had mixed results with that, sometimes it will encourage them and you can help them when they get stuck or something, but other times I've had them get weird about it cause they want to be entirely self sufficient.

>$300 a page
Jesus christ, were you asking for Berserk level detail every page? Thank god you dropped those two.

Written some. Don't draw.

Up to three episodes in my bat-man cartoon and six issues in a comic series involving a brother-sister criminal team. Got lots of other ideas outlined too.

Lewd drow matriarch strips off her kinky outfit to have a bath in front of a mirror and starts masturbating, she pulls off the skin off her legs with her mouth revealing they are actually a snake tail, squishes her breasts until they leak venom and fangs stick out of the nipples, then snakes open up her torso from her back and she pulls off her skin revealing she is a gorgon! She playfully covers half of her face with her mask and leans in close to the mirror, toward the reader in perspective. But on the next page it is revealed it is not a mirror but a dimensional gate and on the other side, a drow matriarch is doing the exact same thing with a gorgon mask, and in the background can be seen the gorgon tail she was wearing and bits of her own false skin. They then start making out. The end.

I'm sure I'll get around to starting it someday.
