Season 2 has nothing to do with Grant Morrison's comic. Main character died at the end of the events that took place in Season 1 as far as his comic was concerned.

What are you talking about? Season 1 did fine. It was Syfy's second highest rated show at the time. There's a reason they renewed it. Season 2 is when it dropped off.
