Last time I read this comic, one of my biggest criticisms was that Wonder Woman was too much of an overpowered mary sue. I remember there was one time where she intimidated all the villain kids into giving up by just glaring at them.

So these comics at least show some improvement in that regard. Maybe I'm not the only one who complained about it.

I don't mind the more intense story lines, but we could definitely use a bit more levity.

I'm a bit surprised Yale spends as much time as he does on the heavier stuff since I feel he has such a good grasp of the pleasant, lighthearted stuff that made the comic enjoyable from the beginning.

Stuff like Clark investigating the sewers with Lois, Barry and Bruce arguing over whether or not Bigfoot is real, or Karen and Diana dealing with their over-the-top classmates

Geoff Johns retconned the Flash backstory killing his mother and jailing his father purposely to give him angst and make him more tragic, like Batman. There was an interview and everything about it. Johns made Allen be more like Batman, because Batman is kewl.

Normal DC. There's been a lot of repeated "I'll just make up some new stuff" though, but that's typical, and why everyone hated New 52. But yeah, that's all accurate.

This is why they have to stop pushing Batman on everything. Let the other characters have their own thing. That's why there's _other_ characters. It's Detective Comics, yes, but it's not the All Batman Comics.

Not even close. It was a rough era for America (and the rest of the planet) and a few deaths just made the characters sympathetic and easier to relate to. Like Billy and Captain Marvel.

DC has a history of wanting to turn other DC characters into Batman. Take for example the edgy Superman in that Legion of Super-Heroes cartoon.

Anywho, this is the original comic strip I did after that meeting showing how Kell-El's powers would work for Legion of Superheroes second season.
And yes, they tried to pull this shit with Superman during the New 52 reboot.
