Why are demons such faggots?
the dialogue on this page is bad hooh boy.
>Lesbian drama overflowing
YOU LIVE IN A WORLD OF MAGIC AND DEMONS AND MONSTERS AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT ALL THIS SHIT IS CONSIDERED COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY NORMAL, YOU HAVE NO SPACE FOR A FUCKING FORMLESS DEMON BOUND BY A MASK TO BE HORMOANING OVER HER HUMAN LAY
It's really just standard relationship drama though.
She's pretty obviously in love
Okay bye.
Why steal a character then draw it horrible.
>tfw the page is a day late
What are you talking about?
>Alison looks like she-hulk now
>lesbian drama with Cio every other page
Wew this webcomic went to shit pretty fast, guess you gotta please the fans
Did a girl you have a crush on tell you she was gay to avoid your awkward advances or something?
Idk why people hate this shit so much.
Bye Felicio.
With cio gone maybe we'll have less dumbshit drama to deal with.
I want to hug Cio!
>Cio not taking part
Thank god less of the stupid romance drama.
>>Alison looks like she-hulk now
>implying this is bad
You have what is referred to as "poor taste", user.
It's not the lesbian part that sucks.
Are you really thinking anyone on this site is going to dislike chicks fucking chicks? No. It's hot.
What sucks is the drama, the crying, the bitching, etc... it creates a sour mood.
Which is quite a whiplash after seeing best girl Gog and building hype for the power tournament.
Worst if all it feels like padding in a story that is supposed to be close to wrapping up, despite there still being a lot of narrative distance to cover between where we currently are and Allison being the sole ruler of all existence.
So with a lot of content left and a limited amount of pages, ones like these that amount to little more than wheel-spinning can be a bit frustrating to read.
Allison made our waifu cry >:(
Gog was smiling last we saw.
>devils are creatures of pure desire
>all Cio desires anymore is a quiet, comfy life with her idiot muscle waifu and friends
My heart, it is heavy and sad.
Oh no, I'm Yea Forums, I'm bored by anything with more emotional depth than Dragonball Z!
>Cio became a whiny bitch
LESBIANISM
IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU
>Lesbians crying
>Emotional depth
Gog's been demoted since her last scene.
Oh right, I forgot this entire comic is a recollection of Cios fanfics. Uhh I meant historical documents.
This IS Dragonball Z levels of emotional depth.
there is zero emotional depth here
but i like seeing autists cry because lesbians exist so i don't mind too much
Fucking liar.
>Are you really thinking anyone on this site is going to dislike chicks fucking chicks?
well yeah, Yea Forums is full of contrairans, and conservative is the new contrarian.
otherwise though, thanks for enlightening me on your thought process user.
I personally think if it was just non stop action then people would just bitch about the railroading towards the end goal. I don't mind each book having a bit of a ramp up.
There is no more time to ramp up. We are 80% through the story.
>Lesbian drama overflowing
It's not like this comic is heavily influenced by Asian themes, amirite?
Them trip and doub, though.
Thinking those are doubles or trips
if it's not the last few digits it aint shit
newfag
No you idiot, we've been told by Abby multiple times the last two books are much, MUCH longer than the first ones, we're like 60% at best. Quit sperging so hard and try to roll with the boring pages knowing we got a whole tournament arc coming.
>curses at her quivering gf in tears, uses common abuse tactic "it's your fault, you're not supporting me enough"
Is this proof that Alison is the bad influence? Zaid and Cio are innocent, can't even fuck this bitch without getting kidnapped or turning it into an emotionally twisted drama.
K6BD is an elaborate metaphor for an insecure and moody lesbian's sexual awakening, though. The fantasy bullshit is all window dressing.
You're an idiot who doesn't know the comic he's been reading.
to be fair, she changed her tone when she saw Cio was crying.
No one in this comic is a perfect person. They're all flawed people.
The literal who dude has done nothing wrong yet by the virtue of barely being a character.
Yeah they are gonna be longer Abby has to be able to wrap things up while padding the hell out of it.
It looks like someone came in her eye.
Zaid is the same as Allison before she got a key in her head. Someone who's trying desperately to pretend to be someone he isn't. A nerd who's trying to play the part of jock.
He's flawed too, and it's likely Solomon has had time to brainwash Zaid to his side.
More like jizz is squirting out her tear-ducts.
I want to hold hands with Cio
Zaid's gonna power top the fuck out of Princess.
you think so?
Manager, what are you doing here?
We are waiting for you ate the Corporation
she's totally going to make a surprise appearance and die saving Allison
>Cio's gone
Yaaaaaaaaaaay
Nah, she's going to go behind everyone's back and rescue Zaid herself while Alison is too busy being an idiot.
is this a motherfucking Dark Souls reference?
>Not White Chain
No
reading this comic makes my peepee become the big peepee
>super powerful god-born female protag MC with a girlfriend who is supportive of literally everything she does
MARY SUE
>same girl, but encounters a problem
UGH I HATE DRAMA, WHY ISN'T THIS COMIC LESS REALISTIC
are we going to stop talking about this now
All the people ITT acting like Cio is somehow acting like a bitch on the rag:
I'll remind you that her entire character arc in Seeker of Thrones was about how she wanted to break the cycle of endless violence and depravity that defined her when she was Yab, but couldn't. Generally, in long-form stories, characters are expected to grow and develop, so her actively trying to break the cycle should be the opposite of a surprise.
it's just the usual incels that don't understand character progression applies to women too
Cio as character always had this "I want to move along and forget about my past, and break the circle" from the very beginning, so it's only natural for her
of course it is.
it's word for word dumbass, what did you think?
>can't get a reference of a reference
Can't Cio just go one fucking book without being an emotional mess tho? It's really getting out of hand.
>why can't the creature of the black flame, which known for chaos, emotions, and wildness, not be any of those things?
That's how dumb you sound right now. She is a creature of the pit, and to the pit she will return
Nice strawman.
So...
Devil May Cry?
They're not even a couple and this drama has nothing to do with romance.
Never noticed the Gog pinup fig there before. Makes a lot of sense in retrospect.
>they're not even a couple
>Allison fucks Zaid after rescuing him
>incoming triangle drama between them and Cio
I wouldn't be surprised if zaid hates ally now for dragging him into all of this.
I don't watch anime because I'm not a weeb.
I only respect american cartoons for children and their associated memes.
God, if there's anything consistent about Abbadon's art style, it's his ability to make great messy panicked faces, what the hell happened?
>finally bag that young girl and scissor her buff body day in and day out
>zone out and stay emotionally distant when she tries to make a mental connection
>get mad/sad that she wants to go and dive into another adventure to get that one guy back
You dun fucked up Cio. Should've been engaging in some actual conversation post coitus.
With all this talk of Cio trying to break her personal cycle of self-degradation, I have to wonder if her arc will relate to Zoss' plan and Allison's goals more than thematically. Is she gonna end up being a Smeagol?
His tabletop game just got crowdfunded and he's getting married in a few weeks, cut the man some slack.
The real question: is he crazy buff now too or is he his normal self with ki-rata powers?
>ki rata
Nah, dude. He's a burgeoning mathematician. He'd be far more deadly wielding the Art.
But Salami Dave has taken him in. You just know he'd train the one he thinks is the king of the multiverse his martial art and ignore all his own children.
He'd also definitely make Zaid fight in the tourney to earn his power, while his sons she'd bitter tears because they can't pimpslap off a human head.
*shed bitter tears dammit
I'm convinced that Cio will never get her shit together.
Remember how she was so gung ho on starting Allison on the path of heroism/lesbianism? Now Cio has what she's originally wanted: 1) Allison on the road to defeating the demiurges and 2) Allison clocking that cloaca every night, and now she says she doesn't want it anymore. I can get that Cio has changed since the start of the story and is tired of killing/hurting other people, but why give Allison hell over her decisions now. Cio knew that their short peace would never last. She knew that one day Allison would have to defeat the demiurges. Why the drama here?
Zaid was prophesized to be the one who destroys the demiurges. Why would Solomon even consider training him?
I'm amazed this comic remains so good in spite Allison being such a complete shitter. I seriously hope that missing-eye super-scarred Allison is actually what happens to her because she's totally setting up to be the ultimate piece of garbage.
I'm not saying Allison being trash is a bad thing for the story, I think it's a great direction to take her. It's just going to be satisfying when the moment comes she fucks over everyone because she's just a selfish asshole.
I think she'll pull a stunt like joining the tournament as Yabalchoath
shit is gonna be like Dragon Ball tournament, or Yu Yu Hakusho
Cio's biggest 'problem' in terms of long term self worth is that the times when she's been mostly independent, she's been a horrific monster, and all the other times she's been attached to someone else, either it be Alison or either of her boyfriends/lovers. Devils are inherently parasitic entities, and to stop being that kind of parasite and becoming her 'own women' might be her eventual long-term fate.
I was in love with a girl, once.
We smoked weed, have hot steamy sex, chilled with netflix. I knew it wasn't going to last, I knew it from the get go.
Still, it was the greatest heartbreak I've bene been through
knowing that something is going to end won't stop you from being sad when it actually happens
Cio best girl
What? She's stubborn and not the brightest but she hasn't been particularly selfish except the time Incubus made her selfish part dominant. She has a reason to think that Zaid, who has nobody else to help him, is in danger. Cio can handle herself and Nyave is in no direct danger, so it's not like she puts them at risk to go eat ice cream in the middle of the night. She has lots of flaws but selfishness is not even close to being the main one.
Because he's tired of running things (hence the Circle of Strength)
I can't wait for Zaid to punch a hole in somebody and chew her out for chilling and banging a lesbian cockroach while he had to deal with Dave's patronizing for months on end
BRAIN HURTY
EMOTIONAL STAKES BAD
GIRLS SCARY
ME WANT BIG PUNCHY
friends with benefits as of now
obviously cio wants more and allison might be open to a deeper relationship but until cio opens the fuck up it isnt happening
That's hardly her fault though, she want after him, almost died, he wasnt there. She had no idea where he was and needed to git gud. While the way things went weren't ideal storywise they were the only reasonable way to handle things from her perspective.
No I just think the dialogue on this particular page sounds... off? I guess? I can't really place what it is that I don't like but it definitely doesn't seem as good as the stuff abaddon normally writes.
i guess i just dont see whats wrong with it but whatever, subjective opinion and all. what part of it in particular do you not like
I kinda like this. Really shows you the kind of lives we're dealing with here when Cio is totally content with being a catty bitch to her friend getting in squabbles all the time and it's absolutely preferable over being a human devouring murder fiend. Of course Cio wouldn't want to jump back into the violence because she's finally found a little slice of the world where she can just live without worrying about dealing with beings that would try to murder her at any instant. Possibly similar for White Chain too. Nyave wants to jump into the violence because it put her in an awful situation her entire life and Princess is still down for the bloodshed. This is good character writing.
It's like soap opera drama. Seems out of place here.
>Cio will never get her shit together
Hey, the comic's about the breaking of cycles, so who knows?
White chain wants to train more instead of rushing in. The responsible approach that is actually not how royalty works, so Allison getting some training and then jumping into action still powered by her stubborn dumb because she didn't spend 100 years meditating like White Chain wants her to seems like a step in the right direction.
seems pretty in line with the rest of the comic, like when allison gets back home early on, or white chains personal conflict before and after she first meets juggernaut. K6BD has plenty of drama
The events aren't the problem, it's the delivery.
I think there's probably something to be said about the pursuit of Royalty being the most damning thing of all. It's not a really well known concept within the universe so most people don't know it to strive for it but if they did that would be the utmost folly. It almost seems like you can't attain royalty if you know about it most of the time because to strive for it goes against its very principle. So I think Cio living her little peasant life here trying to fly under the radar and be safe is even better than what Allison is doing.
So you want him to gain superpowers without any effort whatsoever shown in the comic?
that's fair, i'll just chalk it up to subjective opinion then. i'm just glad this thread has managed to stay relatively civil and constructive for so long, the last one was a fucking mess
We are getting bogged down about Royalty again. The only two things we know about it is that a few people got there one of whom got there by not wanting it. Whatever Royalty is it will be some sort of deus ex machina bullshit and as such probably should not be allowed in the story.
The thing about Allison that's worrisome is that she isn't the reluctant hero. She doesn't have to get involved with any of this shit. She could just get her boyfriend back and fuck right off. It's what she was doing all this time and I sure hope that's still the goal and not to actually fuck up the Seven. Whose fucking idea is it to fuck up the Seven anyways?
She could just tell the ghost of Zoss to go fuck himself. Tell everyone that once she gets Zaid she's going home and if they want to come along they're welcome. I'm not to clear White Chain's or Metatron's goals are terribly clear either. Is the conspiracy that the Angels, Jag, Incubus, Allison, and White Chain more or less are aiming towards the destruction of all creation? Is that what fucking Zoss wants too? Who of those people are going to betray the conspiracy?
>Whatever Royalty is it will be some sort of deus ex machina bullshit and as such probably should not be allowed in the story.
It's not a superpower. And Allison is definitely not going to just leave after rescuing Zaid.
Allison was like three times her original size after a timeskip, so that's not a valid critique.
>She doesn't have to get involved with any of this shit. She could just get her boyfriend back and fuck right off.
Did you miss the part where she has the most powerful artifact in the entire cosmos stuck into her head? If she leaves and goes back home, the Seven, being paranoid, power-hungry fucks, will invade her Earth looking to tear the Key out of her head.
>Then she should just get rid of the Key!
She needs the Key to Divide herself and Zaid to Earth in the first place.
>Go to Earth, and then get rid of the Key!
That will still lead to the Seven invading Earth.
>Just give the Key to the Seven!
This would be like giving the Axis 21st-century weaponry, including nukes, and hoping they don't use it to instantly vaporize the Allies.
It's mostly when Alison's yelling at Cio that the dialogue sounds weird to me.
I'm pretty sure the only ones actively pushing for Allison to kill the Seven are Zoss and sort of Incubus/Jagganoth. Others are aware of the prophecy but don't see her as its fulfillment.
Allison is fighting the battles she sees. Her main goal is Zaid and always has been, but she's not above cracking skulls to make things better for others in the meantime. Even now, the only reason she was even convinced to CONSIDER this is because Gog told her it might get her Zaid. She hesitated then Nyave pushed her over the edge with a little extra moral motivation.
I agree that it seems out of nowhere but also most likely is supposed to indicate a more chronic relationship problem. We've had hints of this before where Cio just shuts down Allison's attempts to open up, so keeping those in minds gives more context to why she's suddenly attacking Cio for giving five seconds of cold shoulder.
but user each book is more or less a self contained story. Yeah they are sequential, but each one needs some set up.
don't be mad when book 5 also has a slow start.
This was the plot of the previous chapter, user.
>relationship drama
FTFY
We've had two instances before where it's been shown that there are serious communication problems between Allison and Cio, specifically that Cio is completely unwilling to open up and Allison is getting steadily fed up with it. First after they have sex, and Allsion tries to talk about actual serious emotional topics and Cio just immediately shuts her off. There Allison is mostly miffed and depressed about it. Then the second time is after the game of poker when Cio goes to sulk and at this point Allison is already upset about it, trying to talk Cio about it with indignation before Gog interrupts them. And by this point she's so upset with Cio just straight up not communicating with her (or anyone in the party in general) that she's just reduced to yelling.
Basically I think Allison yelling at Cio is very steadily set up. We can see her gradually losing her patience. It doesn't come out of nowhere.
I just think Cio is not looking for the same things out of this whole deal as Allison. Allison wants emotional companionship from Cio, which involves sharing each other's problems. Cio on the other hand just wants to live peacefully at last, and Allison is merely a part of that, as the cute girl she can teach magic and occasionally fuck as part of her peaceful, non-violent day to day existence.
>Yea Forumsmblr in full defense mode of this shit update
o i am laffin
Cio got pissed off from the start because she listened to Allison's rambling about not being satisfied and it dawned on her that it was a prelude to Allison jumping back on the adventure train. That's why she sidestepped Allison's initial attempts to connect and instead tried to steer Allison away from that whole line of thought. When she failed, she started pouting and refusing to communicate at all because she knew it was only a matter of time before her comfy setup was going to fall apart.
>Ryo-ten-Ryam
You know aside from wanting to fuck his student, he seems wiser than Meti.
This is a better analysis than mine, thank you user.
How? He professes the exact same philosophy about swords, except he isn't rude like Meti.
I just feel like we need like a couple pages of Allison having some sort of real conviction in her goals. Because I feel like the majority of pages are spent fucking around or getting shit done and the weird thing is that neither of those sorts of pages have really convinced me that Allison wants anything she does.
You're right she's fighting the battles that are put in front of her and she's just impulsively running at them. The laws of conventional storytelling demand that at some point this is going to fuck her up. The problem is that the stakes are kinda high here. Even if none of the Seven want Zoss's key (which seems to be the case), they're still going to kill her. There isn't going to be a flying boat or war that's going to save Allison again; if she goes down she kinda has to die. Or maybe someone dies in her place, which is highly likely too.
I guess all I really want is for her to take a fight with some sort of contingency plan. Because there's a horrific lack of prep that goes on.
Why do you even bother?
How do we know he wanted to fuck Meti?
Meti said that he was her teacher until he started getting interested in her body in one of the passages.
Needs an "I'm horny" edit.
I think it'd fit pretty well in the setting for it to be revealed that Meti was just some chick good with a pigsticker who cribbed all of Ryo's teachings and presented them as her own, mostly just to scam food from noodle vendors.
If I remember right Meti claims she eunuch’d him after he tried to make moves on her and she wasn’t having it
>Even her teeth have been made softer looking
I'm not the only one who misses Book 1 Cio, right? Where's that cockroach limed cigar smoking yellow spike toothed hindu inspired monster who spoke in slang so incomprehensible it needed subtitles?
i really liked her too, but she was already pretty different and closer to what she is now by her second appearance. i guess abbadon just changed his plans for her a bit or something
or maybe theres an in-universe explanation and she made herself more attractive for allison or some shit
>why are clumps of the hot black flame, inchoate chaos incarnated with lies and bargains that acknowledge no structure save greater strength, such faggots
It’s almost like demons are bad or something
I'm sure there's plenty of reasonable explanations, but it won't change the fact that I miss bug monster Cio.
I do miss the dense slang, it gave her a more unique voice
Her book 1 design is great. It really looks like an insectoid monster wearing a human mask and clothes, which imo is a more interesting concept than a waifu-bait midget with some very minor demonic features.
This.
>Incubus follows all her teachings at face value
>he’s revealed to be a covetous, insecure psychopath and mooch who folds to true Royalty even when he has his hooks in them
>Maya bickered with Meti
>Is revealed to have genuinely done some small heroism over her years of conquest and gets to tag team Allison with Jagganoth at the end of the comic
Hell YISUN’s favourite disciples were the one who did everything wrong and the one who questioned him constantly. The real question is how much of a fraud Intra was because he seems to have done well enough to impress logs before the Demiurge Wars
Yunno the only real aesthetic difference between this and that is that he's put more effort into making her glasses transparent. And I do like that she goes through a bunch of absurd wardrobe changes and she's still chomping down the nicotine.
I do think we get enough reminders that she's very bug-like. In the Vault and flashbacks she's very bug-like. I dunno, I don't mind that her appearance changes from midget to lanky bug thing. Seeing the Council of Devils also reminds us that beneath that human exterior she can appear as they do. I guess the reason why she doesn't really feel the same as before is because she hasn't done something fucking crazy like since pulling out her Coat of Arms whereas someone like White Chain has fairly consistently fucked a lot of things up.
Perhaps if instead of punching in Gog's face we missed an opportunity for Cio to (ineffectively) shred Gog's avatar to bits thereby showing that unlike Mottom; Gog isn't so easily stopped. Because if you think about it Mottom is really low on the totem pole of power. Cio stopped her as did Mammon's emmisary presumably.
>Yunno the only real aesthetic difference between this and that is that he's put more effort into making her glasses transparent
Her limbs are far more filled out to be more human, her horns got thinner, her permanent massive toothy grin has been replaced with normal human lips.
There's a shit ton of difference, if you showed Cio from this page compared to Cio from her first page to someone who hasn't read the comic they'd think they were entirely different characters.
>What about all the other times?
>NAW! 'Tis was mere pretense! Thy culminations were fraudulent!
Intra was a swordmaster whose only technique was "hit them with my sword." He didn't have some grand philosophy, it was just mash A to sword until you reach enlightenment.
The comic was better when it focused on an impossibly insane universe and plethora of characters and not pandering to americans in the coastal cities.
He was very good at Pankresh Circle Fighting tho
you still here?
Yeah, I really enjoyed the first couple of books. Even recommended them to a few friends. I was pretty embarrassed when it devolved into another piece of media set to primarily make political statements
nigga we're like 10 pages out from the tournament, a little bit of character interaction between the main group isn't going to kill you
oh, so you're just retarded
just ignore the bait, its always the same exact shit in these threads
It definitely lost some of its magic overtime, I'll still stick with it until the end and won't claim it's all bad, but the earlier books definitely leaned way more into the crazy Hindu-Christian aesthetics while the latter ones are really tame when it comes to that.
Imagine are you progressed through Morrowind it slowly turned more and more into Oblivion, that's kinda what it feels like.
We're in the more urban normal esque area of the Throne right now. The scenery is always changing in this comic. In Mammon's Vault we went through like three changes of scenery in there alone. And we went into the pit of Devils too. There's still crazy stuff happening all the time. But we need downtime too.
But was he skilled at it?
I’m not one of the lesbo complainers simply because relationship drama in general inspires a great and profound indifference in me instead anything as dignified as hate. But I do think the story would’ve been a lot more interesting to follow if the Seven were actually the main characters and we followed them descending into Armageddon again until all that’s left is Jag trying to fight himself
>Imagine are you progressed through Morrowind it slowly turned more and more into Oblivion, that's kinda what it feels like.
Jesus christ user that is the strangest and most appropriate thing ive ever heard
I mean, he had retainers and stuff
lol cio a bitch playing a long con you think she dont DESIRE that key? Yea she playing muscle milk. She is why muscle milk goes full short hair gangsta. Murdara.
>We're in the more urban normal esque area of the Throne right now
The problem is Thrones looked like that since they first got back from the Mottom's castle, I don't want to see a dirty Asian city, I want to see this.
Those are the shades. We're moving gradually through different parts as we return to it. Why do you think they have a house that can walk now?
It was so comfy bros.....
believe me i loved that aesthetic, but id rather have more unique settings like the vault of yre, ryuba, and HOPEFULLY gogs court or worms should the plot permit a visit there
I laughed
reminder that the Shades were never meant to be the entirety of the setting and that Throne is a massive place so no shit different locations are gonna look different
I'm reading a comic made by one of Abbadon's fans called Kill Witch Kill. It reads like someone who took the bulk of their inspiration from K6BD. Currently it's entirely nonsensical and goes way harder on meta brain bending fuckery. I'm not really all about it but it's interesting if they can make it actually make sense. The art is real weird too. Maybe some of you will like it.
Jesus, he's even stealing Abbadons infamous face sweat, this is Chinese copywrite violation-tier.
How'd you notice the face sweat but fail to notice the LotGH ships?
I'm just a few pages in and the storytelling is pretty bad.
I'm actually kind of bummed. I was hoping for Cio to basically feel this way, but I expected there to be some build up or for it to be written a little better. I don't know. Seems dumb to have them be in a relationship for a timeskip just to end it.
WHY DOES THIS SHIT KEEP HAPPENING?
Why is it EVERY SINGLE webcomic has to 1: introduce a lesbian couple and then 2: Make the entire comic revolve around relationship drama?
It's like an inevitability and it's so tiring.
Seriously Abbadon nobody cares about couple drama.
>house that can walk
The Skull of Un-Gorun? Where did the comic say it can walk? Other dead gods are shown converted into transport "buses" but that one looks fixed in place.
It's not couples drama. It's character drama. This argument didn't come out of nowhere, and it's entirely character driven.
>Why is it EVERY SINGLE webcomic
[Laughs in Norwegian]
It's the corpses of the Prime Angels that got converted into transportation. The corpses of the Gods were converted into housing. The Gods' corpses can't move.
>It's not couples drama.
It absolutely is couple drama
>"Can you be supportive just once, I'm so sick of you just pulling away from me all the time"
That's 100% pure couple drama
>It's character drama.
It's fucking boring is what it is.
If I want to listen to two people throw endless passive aggressive barbs at their significant other I can do that at work, I read K6BD for the worldbuilding and crazy fantasy action, why does every single writer think that they NEED to inject obnoxious CW tier relationship drama into their work in order for it to be taken seriously?
doesn't appear to hurt the bottom line
>Gods' corpses can't move
Ah yes, I'd forgotten that. Thanks.
You think it won't happen in SSSS? Just fucking wait, it happens to all webcomics eventually, realationshit drama especially lesbian drama is as inevitable as death and taxes in the webcomic world.
I didn't claim it did?
People that donate to artists patreons are like to do so regardless unless Abbadon were to suddenly be arrested for CP or something or Patreon as a website be shut down, otherwise they'll just keep tossing their monthly contribution without a second thought, it isn't a really good indicator of audience reception.
That said I'm not claiming that the majority of the comics fans are annoyed either, I'm only stating my opinion based on the fact that I have seen this scenario play out multiple times.
>Recommend a capeshit friend Saga because of its fascinating world building and interesting characters
>It takes a very obvious kneejerk turn into political posturing.
>Recommend same friend K6BD because of its fascinating world building and interesting characters
>He bites despite it really not being in his immediate realm of comfort as a web comic
>It takes a very obvious kneejerk turn into political posturing.
I now have to deal with snide remarks at my LCS trivia night about my ability to sniff out eye rolling comics before they become eye rolling.
you're ignoring the context behind the characters, faggot.
Cio is a devil who is trying her hardest to not be a devil. To avoid the Yab inside her. And to Cio, Allison is her idea of a normal life.
Allison on the other hand, is grappling with her abilities and powers, and the want to help people and "seize the day". She's finally coming to terms with her powers and having agency against the demiurges and the fate beset on her.
If you look at the last few pages, it's clear Allison is tired of staying still and simply training, wanting to do something, while Cio is content to stay as is.
Sure, the argument is "couple like" on the surface, but it's exposing their development as characters.
>>It takes a very obvious kneejerk turn into political posturing
Wow you're easy to trigger. I'm surprised you made it as far as you did and White Chain questioning her gender in the first fucking book didn't send you straight into a /pol/ induced coma of rage.
Read Unsounded, it's got basically no relationship drama because the author doesn't really care about that sort of shit.

dude there is absolutely nothing wrong if the comic doesnt gel with you but saying that character development is bad is just a dumb as fuck statement to make
Minna's Finnish user, her concept of a relationship is holding a man at knife point from 5km away saying "okay friend, that's close enough for us to have a proper conversation!"
Really though, A Redtails Dream didn't have a single romantic subplot and all of Book One didn't have a single romantic subplot, Minna just doesn't seem to be very interested in romance at all, she prefers friendships
>saying that character development is bad
The state of you.
No one said that. Everyone has said that the delivery is bad. The method is shit.
and yet no one has said why. only reasons ive seen are "muh lesbians"
God who fucking cares about this shit? I thought they were past this.
Personally: It's indrecibly fucking melodramatic. It looks like a fucking daytime soap opera, and both of the "impactful" Cio panels just falls flat.
It's also the relationship being undeveloped. I mean sure, make the case that they always wanted to fuck and that the relationship makes sense (i don't agree). We still don't know enough about their relationship to give a shit when it breaks down. Frankly I don't care if Cio is going or not. Story-wise it is absolutely not a big deal at all, and thus I don't really care about this whole page.
Finally, look at that middle page. It looks ridiculous.
You know what really fucking annoys me this comic, beyond all else? The lip service to being metal and wild and crazy. Abbaddon loves to post about hardcore metal and KILL BOSS and wacky buddish ninja death monks and being down in the goblin pit etc, etc, it's a wild world where anything can happen, rule of cool.
But then you scratch the surface, and what do you find? Relationship melodrama. Becase making an actually weird comic would require commitment, and disregarding what is currently considered popular or even acceptable in order to make something new. But instead we a comic that is tripping over itself in trying to be weird but also making some sort of point regarding, I dunno, strong female protagonists and relationships.
Lol.
I see he's been playing CoC.
Aw man. Poor Cio.
This is a good direction for them. If they come through this alive, they will be much less codependent and resent each other less for it.
You know Cio is gonna' save Allison after she clips Salami Dave the same way she clipped Incubus and he gets fucking pissed about it.
makes sense she'd speak in a way more understandable to them over time though
She just wears different glasses and outfits now.
this comic is so bad now
should have stopped reading once that faggot went back and censored that page
what page
They mean that page where Mammon's high priestess disrobes used to have a lot more flesh exposed.
Unsounded is like the glorious exception to the rule.
All of the romances in the story are in the past with one or both individuals being dead, it probably helps that Ashley is a femcel.
Not everyone is cut out to write interesting human drama, not all emotional drama is good, emotional drama does not always fit in every narrative.
If genuinely lap up every single instance of relationship drama no matter how hamfisted you have no right to criticize the taste of others.
Not Og but the guy you think Og is, poorly written drama is not synonomous with character development, also not all character development is necessarily good, sometime a good character develops into a horribly written schmuck, you can't just excuse everything with the magical umbrella of "It's character development".
>and yet no one has said why
Melodrama is really out of place in this comic as it has been written so far.
>"muh lesbians"
You're missing the point, the point isn't that characters being lesbians is bad it's that many forms of media but especially webcomics treat lesbian relationships as if they were cruise control for audience interest, it's treated as an excuse for the writer to get monumentally lazy and instead of taking the effort of writing engaging plot hooks and worldbuilding like they had previously they can just slap together some hackneyed romantic turmoil for the characters and assume everyone will automatically care and it's specifically lesbians because some writers (hacks) think lesbians = deep.
Now I will reiterate I do not think K6BD is there (Yet) but I can see the signs of it happening in the future, because this has happened so many times before.
Way to really hedge your bets, play the middle ground, and attempt to feel superior to everyone all at the same time.
The fuck are you on about?
In what respect am I playing "the middle ground" I'm stating my opinion what fucking middle ground even exists on an opinion?
Gotta pick one of two sides. That's how Americans work these days
Two sides of what? My opinion on a webcomic?
I wasn't aware there was more than one.
Your opinion doesn't fit neatly into the little boxes user has made in his mind, friend
This is a serious problem. You need to stop and think about what you've done.
I'm a big sucker for panels like this, they remind me of those Usborne books "Look inside the things" I used to love when I was a child
>Cio still short haired
>cio needs to stand on a book to cook
I can see this whole drama happening before the big tournament to give Allison another motivation to fight, at least in her mind, and to have some special plot twist in the future, like Yab joining the tournament as a participant and with the flair lesbian match between the two
the fact is that we readers have had as a sign of their semi-loving bond a single kiss while Allison was bleeding to death, and casual sex among friends with benefits
so the emotional breakdown of Cio works only because it is a trope seen in many other media, not because it has particular emotional strength per se in K6MD
Why the fuck is Cio all over the place? she goes from the
>i'm for thee
moment to immediately bitching and crying the whole time in the Mammon heist, now this shit. make up your fucking mind, this would be alright if it wasn't her whole personality, she's become insufferable
>My master was the greatest lord general to the king Au Vam, Ryo-ten-Ryam, who first coaxed me into learning the ways of turning men into ghosts. As his interest quickly turned to the wholly uninteresting and most useless parts of my body, I returned the favor and relieved him of his.
Has we know, the proper response to the male gaze is murder. At least when the male is white.
She was stronger than him and thus, by the rule of Throne, she was 100% within her right and the right of the city. Violence is the one above all.
Cio is without a doubt THE CUTEST ksbd character
BUILD A BIGGER SHELF FOR THAT DOGGO
>cio needs to stand on a book to cook
Heh. Good catch
it's not that hard to suss out - she gave her all for allison previously, which resulted in her regressing into everything she hates about herself and nearly ripping off allison's face, along with nearly dying. basically, she failed to be the person she desperately wanted to be in every possible way and ended up being awful, like she feared.
now she's so afraid of that happening again, especially now that she actually cares about allison, that she's entirely emotionally traumatized and unable to even act.
He's almost certainly not white. Go back to your containment hole if you can't articulate actual complaints instead of current political buzzwords.
Don't take the bait, user, nothing good will come of it.
