Why is it going to take 3 years for the new Animaniacs to come out? It was 2017 when it was first announced. Gotta wait till 2020.

I wonder if they goaded Tom Minton out of retirement.

it will be full calarts-sjw so who cares

Personally, I'm hoping it's to secure animation quality. We can argue all we want, but quality isn't a rush job.

This. The fact it's taking a while is a good sign.

They're taking their time so they can insert as much DRUMPF BAD jokes as they can

It could be anything, dont get your hopes up just yet.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. But I'm staying neutral for the most part.

it will fail so bad

The toxic liberal agenda will do all they can to ruin the cartoon, just like it already ruined adventure time, steven gayniverse and star vs evil

>we have to wait at least till 2020 before katie can will have time to do more animated camp wedonwancha
at least she's happy

We get it, we get it. You're a time traveler from the future that's come back in time to pre-emptively bad-mouth a show that you hate in your own year in the hopes of preventing it from getting made.

You clearly never watched the original.

It's kinda sad that you can't make any political joke of any side now without a defense force calling it bullying.

I think Bill Clinton has been the butt of more jokes than any other president. He just had a lot of stuff to make fun of and I don't think he ever really hated it. George W had quite a bit of stuff as well but he seemed to be fine enough with it, although he did want to get rid of V for Vendetta if I remember correctly. Obama was in on half the jokes so there kind of was no reason to mock him as much. But Trump is suddenly off limits and people now want politics out of their satire. Go figure.

So true.

Several comedians of the 2000s have remarked on Bush Jr. having handlers and alot of the satire/attacks on his character never reached his ears while in office.

Again, there has been no indication they will do anything close to what you're saying

This is the most reasonable take ITT.

Clinton was the butt of jokes. George W was the target of a LOT of hate, and undeserved. There's a difference between that and jokes.

>George W was the target of a LOT of hate, and undeserved.
Fuck you zoomer. He didn't get half of what he deserved for the wars he started. He killed a country under false pretenses and we got fucking nothing out of it.

>It turns into a fucking politics thread
>For no reason at all besides people speculating shit of a reboot we know nothing about how it'll go
Why are you guys such losers my god lmao

>Powerpuff Girls reboot excludes Ms. Bellum and Sedusa because they were considered to be overly sexualized, negative portrayals of women. Ms. Keene also had her bust removed entirely because "the male gaze".

You really think Animaniacs, made by the same corporation as the Powerpuff Girls reboot, will be immune to this? You can say goodbye to Hello Nurse and Minerva Mink.

I don't understand, who gazed at ms keene's bust ?
Why her specifically ?

Ms. Bellum could be removed because there would still be the Mayor to serve the function needed for the story. And Sedusa could be removed because she was just one of many random villains and never appeared much anyway.

Ms. Keane couldn't be removed without leaving the kindergarten without a teacher, so their option was to either replace her with a new character or make her character design less "problematic". And that meant removed the little triangles that indicated she had breasts.

I don't understand

Powerpuff Girls got targeted by Anita Sarkeesian and Feminist Frequency over an episode, "Equal Fights", that they accused of being full of "straw feminists" and "misogyny". The writer of the episode, Lauren Faust, had to make a public apology for the episode due to all the negativity it was getting on social media.

So nuPowerpuff Girls basically had to be conceived in a way that would be as inoffensive to social media feminists as possible so as not to have another bad publicity fiasco. That meant going to insane measures such as removing female characters that were "too attractive" and removing breasts from other female characters. It's also why one of the very first episodes of the series had the PPG battle a supervillain who was a Men's Rights Activist that was designed as a literal manbaby. To let the social media watchdogs know how feminist the new series was.

The Animaniacs reboot is being made under these exact same conditions. Have fun, everyone. I'll be skipping it.

no but you don't get it when they were making fun of democrats it was okay

Most pieces of media could only have been created in and thrived in the exact time period in which they were produced. It's a single moment in time that they cannot exist outside of. It's why most remakes and reboots never seem to work.

Animaniacs is one of those shows (and it can be argued that Looney Tunes is a similar situation, seeing as how nearly every attempt to revitalize them in a new decade has been a dismal failure). The culture of the early 90s produced Animaniacs. The culture of the late 2010s cannot produce anything even remotely similar.

If they make Minerva Mink or Hello Nurse lesbians or transgenders, the show will be allowed to keep them.

Does the Media realise that Lauren Faust is one of Western Cartoon's biggest feminist?

She's monogamously married to a cis white male, so they probably don't care; she's still the enemy.

FPBP, /thread.

>b-b-b-but it might be good!
It will not be as good as the original, and I have yet to see ANY modern comedic writing that could give me any hope otherwise. Only people who would disagree actually likes the modern style of comedy writing. Gonna go ahead and call it now, expect to see most characters talking like they are in an Avengers movie.

Everyone worried about politics and I'm just excited for more Yakko porn

Obama was rarely the target of any joke that wasn't a complete softball. IIRC, Boondocks was the only mainstream comedy to poke fun at him in any serious way. Too many comedians were afraid of being considered to be attacking the first black president to actually do anything. And given all the charges of racism that got thrown around over the dumbest shit, I don't blame them. And all the "jokes" about Trump is either "HE'S ORANGE!" or "HE'S RETARDED". After hearing the same fucking joke for a year, yeah, most everyone else is sick of hearing the same shit. It's been two years now, still no new jokes. I know there's some of you who consider it the height of hilarity, but for those of us who aren't concerned with politics 24/7, it just comes off as cheap attacks on someone you don't like.

Neither Obama or Trump has gotten a quality roasting ala That's My Bush, to the point I would say that W. Bush was the last president to actually get decent criticism that wasn't just "You're from the other party so you're EVIL!" with a thin coat of paint on it.
