Life With Kurami

It's like any time I look into this series something else is going on with it. This time it was on the news.

Nice to see this dude's still as wholesome as ever.

Attached: b5.jpg (500x491, 28K)

It's really inspiring to see this guy just growing and loving what he does.

Also holy shit he has a very nice art station.

This. After seeing so many controversies lately mainly with Projared it's just nice to see someone to root for no strings attached.

Wait what in the fuck this guy's from Indiana?
We have shit going on besides Garfield and fucking corn??

Attached: Existential! Crisis!.png (751x562, 947K)

I was actually watching the news today and holy shit was it filled with such depressing themes:

>burglar steals newborn's clothes
>bus rams into a stopped garbage truck
>murders, charges, the usual
>shooting happens near an infant's crib

Then next thing you know this story comes up and sticks out like a sore thumb with all it's positivity and goodness. I was unfamiliar with him and his Pen & Ink stuff but the second I saw LWK pop up I was pic related.

It's actually really good to see him get this kind of publicity. He deserves it.

I'm glad the dude's doing well, hope he keeps doing stuff for a long time

damn, this is pretty cool. I'm happy his stuff is getting out there

Attached: IMG_1226.jpg (412x295, 12K)

i thought this was some mutant chimera thing

He's a really nice dude

>mutant chimera

single moms have been known to look like that when they're tired

I mean, it does explain how he was able to meet Jim Davis in the first place.

That's true, but it seems like it'd be still hard considering how private of a person Jim is.

Uhhhh a lot of potholes from what I hear

>"I just actually returned from a trip to New York City because an animation studio expressed interest in my work," he said.
Interesting, I wonder what studio he's talking about.

Ana is cute!
Cute!

From what I recall it was Frederator

>be a genuinely nice person
>turn your fetish into a comic that everyone loves

Attached: JJJ Feels Good Man.jpg (300x233, 10K)

Oh, interesting. So they're looking for a P&I webseries? Could work if they're trying to target a younger audience with it.

>this character is draw by a black dude
I didn't knew that.

Probably the most unsurprising thing if you think about it.

>bus rams into a stopped garbage truck
But that's funny user

I just thought about it
and you're right

I already hate it, the designs look fucking abysmal.

I thought it was a woman, like for the Athor the Cow goddess comic.

Indiana also gave the world Michael Jackson and Babyface, two of the most influential black musicians of the past 50 years.

So is she like a Single Mother, because there's nothing worse than a single mother.

Is Dee just a young Fred Perry?

Single mothers are usually not the one to decide to be single. The hate for it make no sense. Since when people have stopped blaming the father for not taking their responsibility.

It was a school bus with 20 kids in it.

Dont speak about yourself that way user

When it was a newspaper comic he got told by one of the writers of another comic that he shouldn't do a comic about a single mother and make it so positive. That actually made him sad and was one of the reasons he couldn't keep doing the comic. So he decided to just make the comic on his own terms and kept all the good vibes it originally had.

>When it was a newspaper comic he got told by one of the writers of another comic that he shouldn't do a comic about a single mother and make it so positive.

And this is the work of said person who did that to him.

Attached: content.gif (900x274, 109K)

Which would be interesting since Dee has already paved groundwork by already doing animated shorts with P&I on Youtube,

>Single mothers are usually not the one to decide to be single.
They're the ones that determine who they have sex with and whether they use protection user. They are literally the only people who decide whether they're mothers or not and any thought otherwise is just an excuse to not be responsible for your actions (and rape accounts for less than 1% of all pregnancies). Fathers that run away are fucking assholes but single mothers aren't saints.

>They're the ones that determine who they have sex with and whether they use protection user
So does the man. Therefore, they are the one to blame if they do not support their kids.

>They are literally the only people who decide whether they're mothers or not
The men are literally the one who decided whether or not they will dip their dick.

It make no fucking sense blaming the mother because of a decision (staying or leaving) that the man does.

While I understand your point of view, this is Ana we're talking about. Her character doesnt seem like the type to intentionally get herself into a situation like this. Regardless of that matter, she's obviously taken up the responsibility for it and is okay with raising her daughter herself.

>is just an excuse to not be responsible for your actions
Single mothers are literally the ones who get to be responsible for their actions while the father doesn't. Is your brain working properly ?

What the fuck is this post

Attached: received_1442506822456652.jpg (449x442, 23K)

Ana is literally too good for this world.

She is worth protecting

This was really enjoyable to see. Very wholesome too.

One thing that makes makes me smile is seeing its actual growth from when Yea Forums first found out about it. This is growth I havent seen in an independent series in quite a long time. What a fun ride this has been.

Every day we get closer and closer to having a mainstream fat fetish cartoon/ anime...

user you're on Yea Forumsmblr, most of these cucks probably still think women actually mean what they say

>we lost a wholesome series because of this

Absolute worst timeline

this

i had no idea where davis was from, but being in indiana also, helps. he's lucky too, apparently davis doesn't just draw like that for anyone and helping him get LWK into news papers is kinda a thing too because his comic isn't fucking Cathy.

no user
we get CLOSER to people accepting huge tits

you understand that she has the biggest tits for a main character in NEWSPAPER COMICS? that at the least, is a good thing!

its what i fucking want
wholesome
huge
tits

It's not just the fact that he drew Garfield, but he's also done fan art of his characters. That in itself is a one-of-a-kind opportunity because Davis RARELY does anything outside of Garfield.

When my parents broke up, my pops was ready and willing to take me so my mom didn't have four mouths to feed. Thing is, she didn't want me to grow up away from my sisters. I always wonder how differently I'd turn out if that happened.

thats what i meant
davis doesn't do that shit, so to have him do it is fucking amazing

but also..............

he has that loud house art...........
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........

>Talked to this guy on flipnote a few times back in the day
>Now there's threads on Yea Forums about him
Feels weird.

Does he have a site where he posts the comic?
I could only find a facebook account

Speaking of flipnote and artists getting really popular; it's insane how successful kekeflipnote is these days.
Which is absolutely deserved cause the guy makes really nice stuff but he's apparently doing animation full time now. He did some work for Bobbypills already.

I wonder how he feels about Savino and Hartman now

Any memories of those chats user?

>she has the biggest tits for a main character in NEWSPAPER COMICS

This is actually true. Most busty newsprint women are either secondary characters or one-off gags. Ana is possibly the first (and so far only) huge tit main character in newsprint, and by extension, one of the biggest in mainstream Yea Forums media. And this only accounting that she is the MAIN, FOCAL character of the series, not a secondary or one-off.

But what makes it so accepting for Ana to have such a massive chest is that hers is barely brought up in the series, and if they are there's a reason for it. Her chest doesn't define her nor is it her main feature. She's just a mom that happens to have massive tits.

Not really, I was pretty active on Flipnote so it's hard to remember every detail of my time there.

How does the breast being too big prevent breast feeding ?

Inverted nipples, usually.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

fuck
why can't a character have a huge bust and not define who she is or be her selling point!?

FUUUUUUUUCK!

inverted nipples, baby could suffocate under them, could produce too much milk for the baby to handle, stuff like that.

It's actually a pretty common problem and it's interesting to see the topic brought up in this strip.

It thought a pump reverted back inverted nipples and that it only happened occasionally.

>could produce too much milk
I think breast size and milk production are not really correlated. The milk glands are a bit under the skin surface and don't take up the whole breasts, that are mostly fat.

That is true, but I was just explaining some of the issues that could prevent breastfeeding.

It's made unclear what Ana's issues are, which was probably intentional to prevent controversy.

It could be a lot of things, her breasts might produce a lot of milk for the baby to take, that can happen with woman that have big tits.

That was the same for me and my mother, she had huge breasts and made A LOT of milk and would breastfeed me. Yet she eventually had to use the pump because my whole body would either be drenched in breast milk, but I was always full for a day. My aunt was so impressed by it that she had my mother breastfeed her twins since she had trouble lactating milk and had small breasts.

She link it directly to her breast's size, though So I was wondering if that was a systemic issue.

>I think breast size and milk production are not really correlated.

Nope my wife breastfeeds and she produces a lot of milk where our baby could choke on it.

I always thought the tits on the breast sort of worked similarly to the bottled for hamster, they only leak if the baby suck on it, shouldn't it prevent the baby from getting more than what it want ?

most women don't know much about themselves outside of what a doc tells them.

Bro there are women that are different, my mom's tits would lactate even when she wasn't breastfeeding. Ruined a lot of good shirts too

When's the Pen & Ink crossover with Satina?

>She link it directly to her breast's size, though

She did, but didn't emphasis it anymore than that, which can lead the issues behind it up for interpretation. As these other anons are sharing, numerous issues could be affected by her huge chest.

its funny how everyone here thinks they care about the comic but they're only here for tits

I like the good vibes and can appreciate a good person turning their fetish into a successful comic.

The dude recently announced a LWK/Pen & Ink gallery exhibition at an art museum.

How can he hold this much power??

Attached: 61857899_2926770194030300_5772482409995960320_o.jpg (1449x2048, 1.05M)

Dunno, but I hope to get to his level of achievement one day... just gotta finish this dam writing.

He remained true to his Indiana roots and didn't go to New York like so many artists did.

I actually do care about the comic. In a world where we're getting constant capeshit and sjw pandering comics, it's nice to find one that isn't relying on self depreciating humor, pop culture references, or having a scumbag creator.

that's a cute baby

such a happy baby

Attached: 56247870_796634254044565_8457895224167890944_o.jpg (1449x2048, 215K)

Yeah, everything is just so cynical and ironic now, it's just tiring at this point. It really makes me appreciate unironic, innocent works that don't fall into those kinds of traps.

My mom was a single mother since my dad cheated on her while he was in the Navy so they got a divorce

Was it with a guy on a submarine? Also, does your mom have big tits?

>I think breast size and milk production are not really correlated.
Breastfeeding mom here, you're correct. The biggest factor just seems to be genetic, other factors are stress, staying hydrated and intaking too few calories to produce milk. I've known plenty of big breasted moms who've had issues breastfeeding because of supply issues.

It's just nice to see Bree Kay return. She was my favorite.

Attached: 59243931_811459332562057_2017686489319604224_o.jpg (3344x1254, 614K)

Why does the white baby have a weeb name

I kind of assumed that Ana can supply Kurami with enough breast milk to feed her for weeks on end, but her chest is simply too large for feeding.

If it was a supply issue, then she wouldn't need a breast pump to get the milk out and would be feeding Kurami formula.

Jesus fucking christ this comic is good. Ana's the only large breasted character whose design has layers to it.

I went back to check some of his old works on the facebook page and geez the style and depth to the characters have significantly improved.

>canonically lactates like a fire hydrant
>barely any porn of her lactating
This sucks.

>Her chest is simply too large for feeding
This user here , that maybe the reason for the comic but I've never heard of breasts being too big to breastfeed. In our local breastfeeding mom group there are G cup moms who have no issues. You just have to change the way you hold the baby. It's far more likely a latch issue that causes moms to exclusively pump.

But I give him mad props for even bringing attention to the issuues among moms when it comes to feeding and pumping.

>But I give him mad props for even bringing attention to the issuues among moms when it comes to feeding and pumping.

And for showing how bitchy other moms can be towards others. I'm really looking forward to this continuation.

>And for showing how bitchy other moms can be towards others. I'm really looking forward to this continuation.
That too, it's awful that at the end of the day all we all want to do is have healthy, happy kids but put each other down. I'm glad he didn't gloss over that.

More like he got put down for adopting the cynical mindset and repeating the cliched plot about Single Moms having the roughest time.

The thing is, I can see readers liking Ana because they can relate to her and it's better than other comic strips like the Lockhorns, Doonesbury, or For Better or Worst.

>More like he got put down for adopting the cynical mindset and repeating the cliched plot about Single Moms having the roughest time.

He actually got put down for trying to take a lighthearted approach towards being a single mom by showcasing the good aspects of it. But others deemed it too unrealistic and a mockery towards women who are struggling, when it's been shown numerous times that while Ana does struggle as a single mother, she tries her best to make the most out of it.

That's unfortunate too. Single moms know they have it hard, but I think more would rather see a comic that highlights what makes those hard times worth it opposed to a constant reminder of their hardships.

While I enjoy what he's doing with LWK and Pen & Ink, I'm really interested to see what he'll do with these three. He brings them up once or twice a year and that's it.

>could produce too much milk for the baby to handle

But not too much for an adult to handle

Wow I saw this on the news too.
Nice to see us hoosier bros having love for art.

Dee actually animated those?? That's actually really neat. I assume he isn't that connected with the storytime animation community.

Reminder that he actually framed a few arts like that one made by drawfags in his studio.

Yeah, it's a shame. I think this is the closest we got to that:

I honestly forgot about those 3.

I WANT TO LOVE THE MOMMY

>she has the biggest tits for a main character in NEWSPAPER COMICS

But what makes it so accepting for Ana to have such a massive chest is that hers is barely brought up in the series, and if they are there's a reason for it. Her chest doesn't define her nor is it her main feature. She's just a mom that happens to have massive tits.

I find it funny how even though it's rarely brought up in the strip, she still has subtle issues with having massive tits, but obviously still doesn't mind having them.

>canonically lactates like a fire hydrant
I kind of assumed that Ana can supply Kurami with enough breast milk to feed her for weeks on end, but her chest is simply too large for feeding.
like these for example, that's something I wouldn't expect out of a newspaper comic strip mom.

Hopefully he'll release those early comics even if chances are they aren't all that great.

You can get inverted nipples from having large breasts? I didn't know that, that's interesting.

>LWK tv show
>constant gainaxing and jiggle physics

Attached: 1406059997480.jpg (448x447, 34K)

I wonder what a LWK TV show would be like. It obviously wouldn't be a kids show, but it feels way too wholesome to be an adult show, either.

sometimes adults need wholesome moments too, y'know.

True, but LWK feels too much like a sugar bowl to really seem investing to a much wider audience.

It's not a bad thing per say, I rather enjoy it, but just something I've wondered about.

>Life With Kurami's main characters are white
>Pen & Ink's main characters are black
>Maria, Rosa, and Maricela are Latina names, making them Latinas and assumingly the main characters of their series

How does Dee do diversity better than others??

God this comic is shit

Attached: 53654640_786749421699715_3144596087138942976_o.jpg (1365x2048, 439K)

What really? What's the story behind this?

Long story short an user who is friends with him irl shared some of the arts we did with him during a LWK thread and he was so appreciative and liked them so much he wanted to frame them.

Because he makes stories and not propaganda

This. His characters are cute and sweet and don't rely on their skin tones to write a narrative.

So if the husband suddenly dies is it the wife's fault they're stuck as a single mother?

That's because newspaper strip moms are expected to be nagging shrews, hip with the kids, or feel inadequate about not being a cog in the machine.

Newspaper strips are written by boomers, or feminists with no social skills. Dilbert, Garfield, and Life With Kurami are the exceptions

No one is asking the important question: Just how big chested IS Ana?

It's confirmed that she has to special order her bras, and she looks like shes on the gigantomastia side going by the lore of #

dude, gigantomastia would mean she is non stop growing.

Realistically, what percentage of single mothers have a dead husband as the father rather than some random piece of shit "Chad"?

With Ana's luck, that's not that far off from being a reasonable trait. And I bet the pregnancy didnt help things either.
