because in universe it's based on how they perceive themselves as heroes to be an marinette didn't want to be ladybug initially.

The costume is based on your mind, or whatever. Adrien watches lots of anime, so Chat's suit is more complex. Marinette, on the other hand, didn't want to be a hero and didn't think very highly of herself, this gave her a basic design. If she were to really get separated from Tikki long enough, and half to "rebond" with the earrings, or whatever, she would get a new costume.

Why can’t this show keep these things a surprise? Granted these are revealed in the licensing expo, but keeping it a secret for viewers would be great. They want to take all the twists and surprises away from a show that’s already predictable, cliche and formulaic.

The problem with Kagami is that she simply isn't needed for that. In fact if anything she's being used to hold Adrien back. Case in point since Kagami joined the cast when was the last time that Adrien hung out with any of his peers? Instead of him learning to open up he's actually become more insular than he was before. And she justifies it by literally having the same background as him, thus preventing Adrien from learning to empathize with others who come from different backgrounds and also reinforces his habit of living in his own head.

In reality no one ships Adrien with Kagami because despite what Kagamifag thinks everyone with half a brain has realized that she's worthless as a long term character.

Especially considering the fact that she was created primarily to be a romantic false lead. Adrien and Marinette are a foregone conclusion, so all Kagami and Luka are achieving is dragging out that plotline and preserve the status quo

There's only been a single school episode this season and nino's been regulated to ayla's boyfriend so I don't get the point your making. Outside of captain hardrock I can't remember adrien ever hanging out with his school mates outside of school itself. The class itself hasn't appeared much this season. Chameleon was all about people sucking lila's dick, the girl gang in backwarder and the band in silencer.

So, 3 episodes have featured them outside of short cameos like at the end of oblivio.

Ever since they started blocking the school episodes Adrien participation fell considerably. Ill concede that this season he is just seen hanging out with Kagami or in his room, but thats hardly on kagami. If she didnt exist Im pretty sure the show would just have him hanging out in his room 100% of the time, aside from some side appearences somewhere to make Marinette jealous or needy, but never interacting with anyone.

No, if Kagami wasn't there then there'd be no reason why interact with others. Because thing is, if Adrien has friends then Kagami won't seem important to him because he's not a lonely rich boy. Therefore hurting the illusion that she's actually seriously getting in the way of Marinette and Adrien. Because Adrien just met her and wouldn't have any reason to put her above anyone else. But by not allowing Adrien to interact with anyone you can give the illusion that she has worth.

The romantic drama shit with Luka and Kagami will continue into S4 as the two pairings will get together, but inevitably split to get to the endgame in S5 (assuming they don't get more seasons) and the reasons they're getting Miraculouses are simply because they're the other romance options. I expect their episodes to be full of Ladybug falling over herself to make sure Luka's safe and vice versa with Chat and Kagami.

They did. It's not that obvious because they've rarely shown up lately, but their relationship has developed, they learned each others secret idenities and even confide and train with each other in their regular lives. They're basically everything Marinette and Adrien aren't as they aren't stalled by a constant status quo.

It's not much, but as said, other than Marinette and Adrien, who don't develop regardless, characters only get focus when they're either the akuma of the episode or the backup superhero of the episode, and there's not much they can do when their episode is them spending all of it as monster being mindcontrolled.

They're pretty standard elements of wish fulfillment. You need some kind of legitimate rival for the main boy, and you also need some kind of alternative to him to make the heroine's romantic victory/choice meaningful. Both of them should really have been present from the start. The early premise had no character obstacles at all.

Putting aside the fact that there aren't any wish fulfilling elements here(no matter how much you insist they are). The set up for the show makes it so that adding in more love rivals aren't necessary.

From Marinette's end she's got Chloe, Lila, and her own alter ego as love rivals, while Adrien has himself, and Nathaniel. With a set up like that more love rivals aren't necessary as you could up the ante and drama by simply just letting the love square set up play out and allowing more interactions between Marinette and Adrien and their alter egos. It's genuinely a strong set up and the one that actually attracts viewers but it's going to waste because Astruc refuses to do anything with it.

Nobody wanted Kagami and Luka, what they bring isn't nearly as interesting as what Marinette and Adrien could bring if Astruc simply allowed it to happen. That's why Kagami, and Luka are unpopular, not because of any self insert bs like you keep telling yourself, but because they're not interesting.

She is genuinely concerned about Chloe's safety and showed being relieved when dangerous situations for her in Evillustrator and Maledictator are over. I can say it is a good setup for her as Miraculous superhero.

Sabrina is essentially Harley Quinn. She's too devoted to Chloe to know she's bad for her.

I see it something like this:
Sabrina got Miraculous and some confidence and develops some self worth with it. Then she met Chloe and she trash talks about Sabrina to her alter ego. Sabrina is upset too much to ignore it. Or maybe it's because of some Lila's shenanigans. Anyway Sabrina's gay crush wears off and she starts to see how horrible she was treated for years. Sabrina breaks up with Chloe and now she hates her more than anyone else.
On the other hand Chloe is left alone loosing all her peer support and now new Sabrina's unreachable status makes her more interesting to Chloe. Now it's Chloe who got unrequited gay crush. She tries to bring Sabrina back using her old tricks but it only makes it worse. Now she have to seek help of Adrien, Marinette and others. Every her attempt to befriend Sabrina again fails anyway because Sabrina doesn't trust Chloe anymore or make it easier for her but each time it makes Chloe grow as a person and gives her new friends. In the end the relationship between Chloe and Sabrina is reborn on completely new basis and it gets super strong.
I know it all sounds like a fan fiction but we will get would be much worse. Authors will treat their relationship as a joke to keep status quo till the end and it all will be resolved as a joke in the last episode.

It's not like either chloe or sabrina have any actual love interests in the story, though social media is still desperate to ship chloe with all of marinette's leftovers (nate/luka).

I would bet chloe's going to have some type of crush on felix for like an episode before the show makes a joke and has chloe mention how awful he his. Then some character says something like "Yeah, chloe, sure would be awful to be around a conceited rich snob like that."
