ARE YOU READY KIDS? (For the Spongebob spinoffs and Spongebob-verse.)

>Nickelodeon has given a 13-episode series order to Kamp Koral (working title), a spinoff of the network’s signature series SpongeBob SquarePants. While the mothership is a classic 2D cartoon, the off-shoot will be a CG-animated series, which serves as a prequel to SpongeBob. It introduces 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp.

>Earlier this year, Nickelodeon, under new president Brian Robbins, announced that it is developing for the first time ever spinoff projects for SpongeBob SquarePants characters. Kamp Koral marks the first such project to get a green light. It is slated to begin production in June at Nickelodeon’s facilities in Burbank.

>In the series, SpongeBob and his pals spend the summer building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller co-executive produce the prequel.

How the fuck is Spongebob still around?

Is Patrick in it?

I thought that was the plot of the upcoming movie

What the fuck I thought this was supposed to be a film not a whole fucking series
And why does it need to be cgi

Attached: 1557027023.jpg (585x711, 53K)

>10 year old Spongebob

Doesn’t this make this unnecessary prequel set in 1996? Can we expect some references to the 90s?

>high above the Yuckymuck, castle made of clouds. There sits SquarePants-Boy, sitting oh so proudly....

why wont he stop making money
why wont he stop being profitable

Attached: 74a0c7d93a6c0f197583aacb26448ca8.jpg (500x663, 76K)

>And why does it need to be cgi
Because no one knows how to draw anymore.

Attached: richardwilliams.png (1752x6796, 3.63M)

It happened to Rugrats and now it's happening to Spongebob; it was inevitable.

>no Sandy
Yeah, no thanks

Attached: 1431734178231.jpg (249x230, 19K)

Apparently the movie will just be the pilot for the spin-off

>CG-animated series

Dropped immediately

Attached: heytvm_nahimgood1.jpg (800x600, 116K)

spongebob will never truly die, will it?

Attached: worried5.png (500x516, 132K)

>Kids at Kamp Koral

This has to be a joke

Attached: 1448898633684.gif (176x216, 492K)

I thought we were done with the whole turning-the-main-characters-into-children kinds of spinoffs.

Attached: total-dramarama-post.jpg (1000x600, 240K)

>kids relate to spongebob because of his chidish nature
>make a spinoff show about him as a child
How redundant

Attached: 1508427843464.png (500x762, 486K)

And it'll probably have Sandy and Plankton in it too because reasons

It reminds me of Jorge making an Anakin a kid in Episode 1 in order to have kids relate to him.

It'll probably be Sandy's never before mentioned sister or some shit.

Trips of painful truth. As a poorfag who's been drawing for 20 years I feel existential dread whenever I think about the state of art students. CGI is here to stay.

yeah i thought this shit died in like the 90s

>fine art is the same as illustration and animation
fucking retard

inb4 they retcon a fuckload of stuff such as how Spongebob first met Sandy, what started Plankton's and Krabs rivalry and so on.

Attached: 1537643593151.jpg (540x523, 62K)

>The first such project to get a green light

If this show succeeds, they might make more.

I think Spongebob might be worse off than the Simpsons. At least the Simpsons isn't getting shitty spinoffs nobody wanted in the first place.

Don't fucking jinx it man. Don't fucking jinx it.

Animation and Illustration are niche degrees that are mostly offered at privately owned art schools for a tremendous mark up. Most people will go for the cheaper and more accessible alternative of a fine arts degree from their local state college/University.

>despite the obvious age differences all the main characters will be portrayed as within 5 years of age of each other in order to attend the camp all together
>krabs and plankton are rival camp counselors
>sandy is some kind of foreign exchange student
>squidward is also at this camp as a child as a coincidence
>the "my leg" dude is going to be there at least once

Attached: 1555117250907.png (318x355, 352K)

so it's literally Spongebob does Muppet Babies?

Attached: images.jpg (275x183, 9K)

Kamp Koral or Kamp Kor-ral?

I shouldn't be surprised. Nickelodeon milked Rugrats to death, they're milking Spongebob to death, and it looks like they're gonna milk Loud House to death.

Attached: I wonder if a fall from this height would be enough to kill me.png (600x378, 271K)

>CGI

I want this dead.

Attached: 1494980716160.png (766x738, 315K)

You need to know how to draw if you want to model 3d properly. Otherwise you get shit like this.

Attached: iu[1].gif (240x180, 1.29M)

>implying continuity matters in Spongebob

They are bringing Rugrats back with a TV show and a LA/CGI movie.

Attached: 1350193336166.jpg (199x118, 9K)

>Not doing a spin-off about the adventures of the my leg guy and the background fish in bikini bottom
>Not doing a spin-off about the snail people in bikini bottom
>No spin-off about Patrick's retarded family members.
>No spin-off about Squidsville
>No prequel about Mr.Krabs as a war veteran sailor
>No spinoff about Sandy on the surface back in Texas
>No spin-off about the I.J.L.S.A

Wasted potential from Nickelodeon as usual. They suck at everything and the Camp spinoff sounds like straight rubbish. Fuck Viacom.

>Fine
>Art
This is a funny post

Is this going to be for the Nick Jr audience?

>At least the Simpsons isn't getting shitty spinoffs nobody wanted in the first place.
The Sneedsons 2021

Wouldn’t it be easier to just make it animated? KEK

HOW BOUT A CRAZY WEDDING

>very unlikely Tom Kenny won't be voicing young SB
>he'll be doing his annoying kid voice every episode
I hate it already.

Attached: 1278277355653.jpg (409x410, 28K)

I've got not problem-
>the off-shoot will be a CG-animated series, which serves as a prequel to SpongeBob.
>cg-animation
>prequel

And we've got two problems. Seems like this would be more welcome as a Nick Jr series.

>no Squidward spin off

If the new guy running Nick is smart, he probably scrapped plans for the movie after the Wonder Park debacle.

I don't even know if this is hilarious, sad, pathetic or infuriating.
But still, what the fuck even?

Attached: 1556222710689.jpg (374x430, 51K)

>Not canceling both the spin-offs and SpongeBob
Nickelodeon doesn't want a different show. They want to repeat something that was popular in hopes it will repeat the popularity. Why do you think The Casagrandes is just The Loud House but with the Mexican texture pack?

I'm not going to lie, rating bait it may have been, but that shit was cute while it lasted

if hillenburg was still alive would have he allowed this?

Attached: 1559583200991.png (299x314, 20K)

>no SpongeBob spin-offs or crossovers in the near twenty year run with Hillenburg around as show runner and later producer
>Hillenburg kicks the bucket
>Months later multiple spin-offs are in talks at Nickelodeon
>They announce the first of possibly many more
Maybe it's a huge coincidence and Hillenburg gave up on trying to keep the integrity of his show, but it seems really fishy to me pun intended

Attached: stop.png (894x495, 430K)

>the off-shoot will be a CG-animated series, which serves as a prequel to SpongeBob. It introduces 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp.
Holy hell this sounds awful

Oh boy, a reboot of Camp Lazlo.

>Camp Lazlo was staffed by a lot of former classic spongebob crew

Oh wow it's like that Total Drama or Big Bang Theory spinoff that no one wants or asked for

Honestly I'm willing to see the details before I hate this.

What's the approximate age difference between Spongebob and Pearl? 5 years at most? He's young enough that it's not weird to go to prom with her. If they stick to canon and leave Sandy out they could maybe do something with Pearl.

Aren't Squidward and Squilliam old rivals from some point before the series? We could get Squilliam.

Maybe give Larry a slightly larger role.

Or they can make up a bunch of new bullshit characters, I'm looking forward to that kind of trainwreck. I don't think my childhood memories of Spongebob could be tarnished by new content because the early material was just so solid.

actually it would be easier to make it live-action

Money, and because Nick mostly sucks now and has sucked for a very long time

kek

I thought they would've ended it out of respect for Hillenburg but I shouldn't of expected better of Nick

They are doing a CGI Rugrats revival too

Based

And Rocko.

Love that ending where Heffer was the councilor that Lumpus kidnapped

In part because they are paranoid to make anything new because it might fail.

>Spongebob babies

So instead of using their other properties like Jimmy Neutron, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom etc, they just want to flood the channel with Spongebob more then they already do. The Krusty Sponge episode made fun of this mindset but Nick took it as a guidebook apparently. Just leave the sponge alone Nick.

Better then what the Loud house is doing

twitter.com/paultibbitt/status/1136035312113553408?s=19

>Even the man who was literally the driving force behind the show after Hillenburg left the first time is shitting on this.

Attached: Screenshot_20190604-195136_Twitter.jpg (809x834, 266K)

>a rip-off TWO CN shows, one of which ripped off another one
>shitty CGI from the Christmas special
This is exactly how Rugrats ended, a bad spinoff a year before it gets cancelled. Is it over in 2020? I hope so.

I would kill for a Nicktoons Unite show.

There was a rumor of something like that being made into a theatrical movie a year or two ago, but it was fake. I actually held on hope for it until the revealed movies were Dora and Wonder Park

Guess I'll just mop up the abortion fluids when this comes out.

Attached: 1558554171453.png (540x540, 421K)

I shouldn't be surprised. The sponge will never die.

Bless Tibbitt.

Attached: 4005628.png (500x909, 284K)

It's not really a spin-off if the main character in the original show has a major role.

Meanwhile this appears to be the movie plot
Who's ready to go gambling?

Attached: rrtk.png (1160x112, 19K)

...

Is there a better way to properly spit on Hillenburg's grave? Nickelodeon is a fucking joke, watch Glitch Techs get canned after 1 season to make room for more soulless garbage like this.

Attached: 1473729032388.jpg (512x523, 20K)

Yes, bless Tibbitt for literally burning Spongebob to the ground and taking its legacy with it.

Hillenburg dies and this shit happens?
There's no way this is a coincidence

I wonder how Kenny feels about voicing SpongeBob nowadays. He just doesn't have the soul like he used to.

I feel like these tweets are gonna get canned in the near future

Attached: paul2.png (1014x207, 35K)

>He just doesn't have the soul like he used to.
You can tell; his voice felt off in the second movie.

>watch Glitch Techs
That’s literally it, user. Watch Glitch Techs; ignore SpongeBob. Tell others to do the same.

Is there some sort of online streaming service I can use to do so? I don't live in the US, I don't think I can help with boosting ratings.

HE'S NOT EVEN COLD YET

>Hillenburg dies.
>This happens.

No respect.

Nick still lives in the stone age and has put very little of their programming on streaming. Mostly the older stuff.

>You know what we can produce that can finally rival Spongebob on Nick's schedule?
>ANOTHER Spongebob!

Bravo, Viacom.

He won't say anything, but he's probably sick of it. However, it's a paycheck.

>spongebob spinoff
>cgi spongebob spinoff

Attached: 1544599805075.png (500x379, 212K)

kek

They didn't wait till a full year of Stephen's death to fuck up his wish of not making a spinoff out of Spongebob

Attached: 1558869782262.png (1080x1080, 832K)

When was the last time Nickelodeon made something animated that wasn't for seven-year-olds?

People are learning how to draw, just not through universities. Universities are pretty useless for anything that's not STEM, and more people are realizing that.

It’s why the waited. As long as Hillinberg was alive he wouldn’t green light a spin off. Now he’s dead and the cow can truly be milked

meh, the show is not at simpsons zombie level bad yet, but it sure is long past it good years.

This is fucking horrifying.

Men of culture I see. How would you like a Nicktoons Unite show to go? I always wanted it like Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and DCAU Justice League. Just let it take place after each show has ended to allow creative freedom and add XJ9 and Aang/Korra to round up to 6 founding members of the team and this show could be kino.

Attached: nicktoons_unite_by_nicktoonacle-d2zjxdt.jpg (545x545, 76K)

Not even the creator's death could take it down

>stage light falls in the promo

True. Money does the talking for everything.

Somewhat dark. The people who grew up on those shows when they were fresh and new are now going into college and they might find the characters they grew up having grown up with them appealing. Spongebob could be the group Spiderman/Spongebob in that he's the most cartoony of them all - literally the only anthropomorphic character in your pic - and that he's supposed to be appealing for his childish nature.

>spinoff where they’re kids
>takes place at summer camp

Did I miss out not going to summer camp as a kid? It’s the setting for a lot of cartoons but I never got the appeal since I never experienced it first hand.

I like companies that actually take pride in and have confidence in their shows.

>Kamp Koral picked up for 13 episode Season 1.
>TWD picked up for 6 episode Season 1.

>Spongebob CGI spin-off where he's a kid at summer camp
Bit out of left field. Never would've guessed it would ever exist.

Attached: 1462451501941.jpg (361x364, 96K)

Attached: 32p0s2.jpg (607x411, 80K)

You know what else Stephen never wanted? A crossover. But now he's out of the way, I feel it might happen if Vincent is too much of a pussy to put his foot down.

summer camp is a boomer meme

Camp Wannaweep is probably a more realistic portrayal of how summer camps fucking suck.

Attached: 1452127092326.gif (480x355, 436K)

They've always just been a place for parents that don't want their kids hanging around home for over three and a bit months or parents that don't want their kids to be alone all day to dump them so they hang there instead with a bunch of other kids and make macaroni pictures and sing campfire songs.

Kamp Koral sounds like a name of a concentration camp

Attached: D8PKFYGXsAIuRMz.jpg (500x322, 34K)

I would be a lot more entertaining if it actually was a concentration camp and Spongebob was too stupid to realise. But since they already did that, they probably won't do it again

Isnt spongebob set in the 60's though?

no

Attached: vlcsnap-01495.png (1920x1080, 2.38M)

Let me guess, the executives that came up with this genius idea were also doing lines of coke off a prostitutes ass while brainstorming ideas right?

Attached: 1411210452085.jpg (720x540, 47K)

He's been cold since the Superbowl.

You think they give a shit about canon? I think Krabs being the camp headmaster was already confirmed despite him not knowing Spongebob in the first episode. I'm sure Sandy will be at camp

Not anymore you mean.
Season 1-3, i.e. actual spongebob was clearly retro themed

WHO SHITS IN A DIAPER UNDER THE SEA?
