the ronnie comic where he sees himself out the window

>Are horror comics a thing?
People keep trying them, and they keep not working.

His Face All Red and other Emily Carroll stuff is good. Like a more horror themed OTGW but not pretentious.

Junji is mostly ""psychological horror" and grossout. The amigahara fault one sticks out most because apart from the ending, it keeps it to a minimum.
This desu. There hasn't been a good one at all

read doujins if you want some actual horror

Old swamp thing and hellblazer comes to mind. But horror and comics do not mix well imo.

Beasts of Burden counts as horror, right?

Emily Carroll is great. I bought her book and it is gorgeous.

I loved Nameless as a sort of pastiche of Hellstar Remina, Dreams in the Witch House, and Jacob's Ladder

I don't care for the gore, but I care for the creativity. Holy shit that is creative. Anime Wizard levels of unrealistic, but highly imaginative.

The only truly scary comics are some of the fetish ones that go too far.

Amsterdamned Nites comes to mind.

>be walpurga
>spend you live fighting evil spirits
>die, be turned into a saint and be given a special date of the year to be remembered and celebrated for your good deeds
>they call it "the night of walpurga"
>people burn candles and pray to you so you protect them and their houses from evil spirits
>hundreds of years later a bunch of hacks think your special day is some demonic shit
being walpurga is suffering bros

Attached: st.Walburga.jpg (300x343, 17K)

>hundreds of years later a bunch of hacks think your special day is some demonic shit
I only know about that day because of Madoka.
What other kind of demonic shit are you refering to?

what kind of horror is this ?, i can only think of gore with that title and image

Basically an elf warrior gives himself up to save his brother. He's then captured and forcibly turned into a woman after having his legs cut off and arms rendered useless. Then gets a magic womb in his anus. It goes about how you'd expect from there.

ok thats pretty horrifying

elf also eats some bits of himself via kiss

never knew she was a saint

>Then gets a magic womb in his anus
What the fuck Japan

That’s kind of hot.

If he was turned into a woman why would he need a womb in his anus if presumably he had a regular one?

Oh I forgot the other part too.

They kill his fiancé and make him wear her wedding dress before he's gang-raped by orcs.

Fantasia’s Night on Bald Mountain takes place on Walpurgis.

Also Dracula and many other vampire or other monster stories typically feature a prominent scene on that date. In Dracula’s case, I think it’s the part where Johnathan Harker first meets the Count.

>when the fetish porn you draw for yourself is a literal horror comic to someone else
This happens way more often than you'd expect

Haven’t read it, but it would double suck to have two wombs.

you know, it's been a while and doujin art is kind of shit. He kept his dick and at one point gets DP'd by orcs. So maybe there is a magic vagina there too. Suffice to say I'm not looking it back up.

Yeah. The guy has does TF art, all of the various horrifying variety. I vaguely remember that one of his reoccurring characters was a witch who really enjoyed turning people into inanimate objects/cruel fating them. Later he would make a webcomic with the same witch design only now she was good.

I think some supplemental material implied she was in fact the same witch from the porn who had a change of heart and was trying to hunt down all the people she fucked over to change them back.

>art is shit
I know thats subjective, but what saddens me is that the dude is actually pretty skilled, he just wastes his art on gore fetish trash

great thread

name of this ? i love evilish blood hungry sucubus, not just lusfull

i just read it, damn thats ending, hope that brother get sweet revenge

Heartless, also thats Incubus

fuck, i am gay now ?

Immortal Hulk has been a good horror comic as far as the big 2 go.

But it's mostly body horror, so if that's not your thing...

Attached: 711711._SX360_QL80_TTD_.jpg (360x554, 56K)

Came in to post this.

Attached: BB14BE43-288B-4F1C-8F91-8694832B49E6.jpg (1200x928, 227K)

at least body horror actually works in comic medium, in fact, it's the best medium for it

Attached: milk closet.jpg (728x1024, 52K)

the one with the dogs and sheep was kind of scary at the end

Nah, it had a feminine waist. Doesn't count. It's okay to think you recognize someone from behind.

Unless you fapped. In which case you the big gay.

you have just read gay dj about orc gang rape, accept the inevitable

Check out Yasashii succubus-chan by Usuki.

I guess I should say I thought the fact I couldn't remember if that elf dude had a magic ass womb or a magic vagina womb was the sticking point for the art.

But again, not going back there Satan.

Fuan no Tane and Kouishou Radio are both decent. They are mostly unsettling short stories with supernatural elements, but I often prefer unsettling/creepy to really gory and violent stuff. I wish I knew of more good western horror comics, though.

Definitely not the garbage you posted.

Isn't this the plot of Frankenhookerr?

Attached: f6a.png (737x598, 729K)

>Fun fact: This is the artist who created Richie Rich and Hot Stuff the Little Devil.

That explains it.

Not really horror but very disturbing netherless. Despite being short, the author managed to cram as much body horror, gore, and fetish fuel as possible. I mean, the main girl gets grinded into soup at some point. It also seams that the author has a hardone for girl x alien symbiosis. And girls fusing. And sick shit in general. If this asn't enough, he sometimes adds real pictures of little girls as bonus volume pages.

Josh Simmons is a kind of a Crossed deal. Really, awful gross shock value stuff, but, if you can look past that, you're getting some great shit. Try Demonwood or Mark of the Bat.

>No, Junji Ito, please!
Fixed your punctuation.

nah, every horror comic thread eventually turns to Ito thread

Oh yeah, also the Drifting Classroom is a pretty good manga. A lot of it is more suspense/psychological stuff, but I thought it was pretty scary. Kazuo Umezu has done plenty of horror manga, though. Most of it is decent.

The one with the mom ghost dog was definitely one.

>What are some good ones?
Not the tumblr garbage you posted.

I have yet to encounter a single good horror comic with good art

Wait, this is just Pieces. With less awful acting and no police procedural angle.

Go check /d/ then, you're in for a treat.

Thanks! I sure hope that advice doesn’t impact my life for the worse.

Horror comics don't exist

The ending to that still confuses me.

My favorite

who is Emily Carroll?

Only weeb shit comes to mind.

Attached: 1504885852593.jpg (998x1200, 183K)

>Are horror comics a thing

They were founding blocks of the industry and are what Darkhorse is mainly known for. Not only that, every mainline comics publisher has atleast 1 horror hero.

Some decent to good ones I've personally read
>Hack/Slash
>Moore's Constantine Stuff
>American Vampire
>Anthrology Stuff like Eerie and Creepy
>Afterlife with Archie
>Locke and Key
>The Walking Dead

Eerie and Creepy is shit dude

Despite what pretentious faggots and contrarians on here think, yes. There's actually a ton of horror comics out there.

Please answer this

Who are the best horror writers and artists?
>inb4 Stephen King, I hate Stephen King

Emily Carroll is a Canadian comics author from London, Ontario. Carroll started making short webcomics in 2010; she gained recognition on the World Wide Web with the horror webcomic His Face All Red

>Afterlife with Archie
Is that even still alive? pun intended

Hey, someone post the comic where robots stick living human heads inside balls to be tortured forever
That's some horrifying shit right there

junji ito is based AF

ded

>His Face All Red
Which had a great presentation/format and was one of the first webcomics I remember reading which actually used the vertical space on the page with any meaningful effect.

Just reading this and it's pretty sexy, in a surreal and creepy way.

Love the Silent Horror stuff.

Attached: Silent_Horror-Hiker.jpg (591x3917, 482K)

That's just great. Monty Python tier punchline.

The artstyle ruins the tone

Attached: wgETSc6.png (589x320, 171K)

>Monty Python tier punchline.
Come on, it's not that bad.

It's a compliment!

>John Bolton

....Uh, the "die for Israel" guy?

Hellboy the crooked man is pretty good, a lot of the Mignolaverse stories I dont really consider horror but the crooked man is one you should definitely check out. I think it was the first comic to ever creep me out. Richard Corben's art is so ugly but it works so well with the story

>Hellboy
>good

it is

>Fuan no Tane
This really never gets as much credit as it deserves. Not every story is good but for stories being 2-4 pages long he makes some really good ones

The only horrifying thing about it is that it made me pop a boner.

Hideshi Hino - Panorama from hell

Art its shit but its a good story

also the start is pretty cringy

Faust, the so called German Bible, has a entire chapter about this night (and its a shitty one let me tell you)

He is a good boy. Not really a horror, but have some really unsettling elements there. Nonetheless, underrated gem.

Attached: He is a good boy.png (1000x1319, 1.03M)

Junji's simpler oneshots are probably his better ones imo. The one with the beached sea monster was pretty good

Providence, but you need to be pretty familiar with Lovecraft.

this, but the one with his replace more

Attached: 2012-12-12-Window-Distressing.jpg (900x595, 134K)

>People keep trying them, and they keep not working.
Said no one with any real knowledge of comics.

I read a pretty good comic adaption of The Rats in the Walls on here once. I hadn't read it beforehand, and it creeped the hell out of me. No idea where to find it, though.

bump

WHat did he mean by this

I think the idea is not so much the saint as that supposedly a lot of peasants picked up a ton of weird superstitions about things that they were supposed to do to protect themselves from evil spirits on that night.

And since those superstitions looked super creepy and witchy to outsiders, those outsiders were responsible for giving Walpurgisnacht a reputation in popular fiction.
