Jeez. You could do something much more productive with your time. You could learn a new foreign language. You could study microbiology. You could train Siberian tigers. Instead, you're having a mental breakdown in Yea Forums.
Yeah, pretty sure. What kind of person would spend this much time posting each page one by one of a comic they don't like? Even the unironic storytimes of pain, the ones with actually bad comics, are done because the comics are so bad their funny and it can be enjoyable to read them together.
Part of me expected at least a small reference to the electric car and the Flash having the same logo in Doomsday Clock. Either a one-off joke or Manhattan unconsciously duplicating it.
I've always wanted to commission an artist to draw Darksied and Manhattan sitting on separate couches, one reading a magazine and the other just flipping channels on the TV
I mean, Jon just wants to live a comfy life in space and alone making scientific discoveries. He's just not interested in the Russians and USA wiping everyone off because of their dick measuring missile contest.
He's barely human at this point, the scope of his powers makes everything going on in Earth seems so quaint in comparison
Luke Peterson
Jon never had apathy. He was tired of being dominated by women and society into using his problems to solve their problems. From his perspective, they're just irrationally afraid of things they don't understand.
This page raises a point: how did Rorschach's journal even influence the events of Doomsday Clock when it's the Watchmen Equivalent to the Unabomber's Manifesto, or the ravings of a serial killer?
I love the logos that they all have. I can really imagine cover artwork of Rorschach making his way down an alleyway, the Rorschach logo appearing as graffiti, and the little splotch that forms the "O" being what's left of some rapist.
Jack Miller
It took seven years and it only takes the smallest amount of research to prove anything.
He isn't implying that at all. He's talking about how it's *perceived*, not how accurate it is. Rorschach's journal is what's being compared to it. How are you getting a lack of truth out of that comparison?
I legit hate how much Comedian wank there is in Watchmen it seems practically everything that happened is because he existed. Even Doc mentioned how "Blake saw how the world really is"
I like how the chick is the only one who bothers to bring a gun, and Veidt has to do this superhuman feat to not die to it. And she could have just shot twice.
Of course not, but since what was done was done, there's no point in ruining the peace born from destruction. But peace built on a lie is fragile, and Rorschach's journal will reveal that. Hopefully. I really hope the HBO show is good.
I don't appreciate your terrible opinions but I do appreciate you for this story time. Thanks user
David Peterson
Dark Knight Returns, Flex Mentallo, Pax Americana, Miracleman, Red Son
Carson Garcia
Thanks for reminding me how much I love this comic, dude.
Sebastian Lee
Would you let humanity go extinct for moral purity?
>Bradford Wright described Watchmen as "Moore's obituary for the concept of heroes in general and superheroes in particular." >Putting the story in a contemporary sociological context, Wright wrote that the characters of Watchmen were Moore's "admonition to those who trusted in 'heroes' and leaders to guard the world's fate". He added that to place faith in such icons was to give up personal responsibility to "the Reagans, Thatchers, and other 'Watchmen' of the world who supposed to 'rescue' us and perhaps lay waste to the planet in the process". >Moore specifically stated in 1986 that he was writing Watchmen to be "not anti-Americanism, [but] anti-Reaganism", specifically believing that "at the moment a certain part of Reagan's America isn't scared. They think they're invulnerable."
I'd let humanity go extinct because humans are a cancer that is very slowly - scratch that, very quickly - killing the Earth
Brandon Howard
the Punisher did
David Jones
Transmetropolitan, Before Watchmen (Minutemen ONLY), Any Daredevil written by Frank Miller, Bone by Jeff Smith
Christian Bennett
>Adrian himself didn't consider Rorschach a threat because he's mentally ill >Jon can see past and future across multiple realities, doesn't erase the journal
Was killing him really necessary?
Samuel Williams
Tachyons. The answer is always tachyons.
Brandon Mitchell
That room of oligarchs was what caused the extinction in the first place, the exact thing Veidt was trying to stop.
Eli Adams
Killing Rorschach was a kindness.
Elijah Cooper
Based. Fuck this book.
Hudson Moore
The fuck are you on? Outside of a handful of humanizing moments the Comedian is portrayed as a vile human being.
Jacob Hughes
Don't listen to this shitposting retard
I'd recommend pretty much anything by Moore, Miracleman is probably the closest in approach and tone.
Michael Russell
The Punisher isn't exactly a paragon or morality.
Camden Thomas
I love the slow zoom in on Rorschach
Lucas Lewis
Jokes on you, I actually found even more appreciation from the storytime.
Ryan Thomas
Good thing DC's got prequels for Watchmen and is publishing a sequel written by the legendary writer Geoff Johns.
Evan Powell
Rorschach was committing suicide by Manhattan.
Noah Hall
>Nothing ever ends Adrian
what DID he mean by this?
Joshua Diaz
I never realized how much of a puppet Dr Manhattan is in this story.
Every single thing he does is done because someone else told him to do it. Everything, even when goes from Mars to escape it all, he still only appears in front of Laurie because Laruie wanted it, only decided to save humanity because Laurie told him too, only agreed with Ozymandia because he told him it was a good idea. Right down to killing Rorschach. Didn't even do anything till Rorscharch told him to do it.
Ethan Jones
I'd always thought of him as being basically mentally ill, really. The most powerful man on the planet believes he has no control over his actions. That's kind of schizophrenic.
Or something. I might be getting the exact nature of it wrong, but he could easily be seen as "fucking crazy".
"Oh, I can't control anything I do at all, boo hoo".
Kevin Bailey
He was a pushover even when he was Osterman. His father chose his profession, Janey made the first move... It's probably to show that he isn't as far removed from humanity as he thinks he is.
Robert Reed
>we're all puppets
Isaiah Rogers
Ok, hold on, ok. why did LBJ not use Manhattan in Vietnam??? and is comedian killing jfk just a one off joke? i don't know enough about jfk conspiracies
still a great comic
Lincoln Perry
Did Adrian have any reason to lie about his servants like that? I mean he candidly admits to killing millions of people.
Gabriel Smith
That was me, and Kingdom Come rightly fucking sucks.
Ethan Edwards
>Ill give it a little thought
Benjamin King
I absolutely love the humor in these pages >come and get me >cut to dan/laurie coming to get him >provided nobody's been too rough with the electricals >cut to Rorschach yanking on cables
>old grudges and bad blood >Rorschach covered in bad-guy's blood
>he shouldn't be too difficult to track down... >literally leaving footprints And so on.
Lincoln Fisher
Here's why Moore was full of shit: THE NUCLEAR ARMS RACE DIDN'T LEAD TO WORLD WAR III. IT DID THE OPPOSITE. IT PREVENTED IT.
Moore's entire basis for the story is that "the Cold War can only lead to nuclear war", but that entire premise was proven false just a couple years or so after the comic was published.
AND THAT MEANS RORSCHACH WAS RIGHT.
HOW FUCKING SHIT IS YOUR STORY IF THE VILLAIN YOU SPEND THE ENTIRE STORY SHITTING ALL OVER TURNS OUT TO BE RIGHT IN THE END?
What said. >Right down to killing Rorschach. Didn't even do anything till Rorscharch told him to do it. He probably would have done something regardless
>LBJ >not use Manhattan in Vietnam Slow down and read it again buddy
Dylan Anderson
I think most people would be willing to compromise even what they considered their most sacred values if the scale of the stakes was high enough Truth, justice etc. could seem abstract and unimportant when billions of lives and the fate of human civilization is actually in your hands
Dylan Ortiz
Always depresses me.
Juan Sanchez
It's probably just bait
Christian Moore
Still one of the greatest moments in comics.
Charles Wright
>the veidt method sensible chuckle
Adam Cox
Honestly those puns are what cement Adrian as the most unlikeable character in all of this.
Noah Clark
I only just now realized that her talking about the costume isn't purely bdsm aesthetics but alluding to the Comedian. Oi.
Christopher Martinez
It's a good comic.
Josiah Rogers
what did the crowd's intervention on the domestic dispute represent? did they prove Ozymandius's assumptions about man's violent nature wrong at the moment of his master plan's execution?
Blake Williams
Yes. Ozzy killed millions for no reason.
Easton Rivera
Nixon's the one who asks him to get involved in 1970
We came pretty fucking close at times, you're looking at the Cold War with the benefit of hindsight rather than looking at it when tensions were at its highest. Not to mention Moore changed history in the Watchmen universe to inflame tensions even more, making a nuclear exchange even more likely.
Oliver Young
Those are some really shitty opinions
Alexander Kelly
he looks like hank hill with a mullet in the botom left panel
Asher Watson
But it's not. Watchmen is hyped but it is actually good and deserves it. You are thinking of Killing Joke
Josiah Cruz
Based thanks OP I thoroughly hated it
Justin Fisher
I guess Adrian manipulated the media, to get this spin on the story, but even then I think the Alien Invasion part was pretty far fetched.
Charles Green
It's perhaps less "I can't control anything I do at all" and more of "I can't distinguish anymore, whether I make my own decisions, or just follow some script I've allready memorized and I'm forced to follow?", because either way he allready knew in advance what it would lead to.
Can an omniscient being do anything that suprises itself?
Dominic Turner
you have a very shallow understanding of the comic, its clear you feel personally attacked by the depiction of rorshache
Austin Perez
They only died to keep the secret. He can't justify those deaths so he tries to cover them up. That, or he's just saying what he'll say to the police.
Blake Sanders
They were welding right next to him and his protests/pained reactions would have slowed them down.
Nathan Nelson
if you have Yea Forums x and a 4chanpass you can auto post images
