Let's be honest, Arin was always a shitposter. Game Grumps didn't kill his career because animation was never "his passion". He never truly had a specific dream he wanted to pursue and just does what he finds pleasing at the moment. Sure, he got stuck with an intellectually unfullfilling job but who isn't? He gets his distractions. He lives it up in california. He got his pet music band and made three albums collabing with them. He made his ridiculous dream office with neon toilets and amiibo corridors. He's trying to break out as a small business because he knows that let's plays are near dead. He truly was our age's bohemian man.

Arin was always too much of a lazy fuckup to ever make it in the industry and he found a nice gravy train right before YouTube fucked the internet animator crowd nice and proper with their shitty algorithm. He's also put out three studio albums, routinely does touring live shows (and has done touring concerts), and had a professionally produced show on Youtube's "premium" thing. He had to dial back Grumps' upload schedule because he was unable to keep up with it with all the other stuff he was doing, and was working his body to the point of failure.
But yeah no, he's a "lazy fuckup" because he doesn't put out a stupid cartoon every month for you morons who can't mentally move past the things you liked in middle school.

years before Game Grumps Arin would talk about animation like he knew his stuff and even tried getting animation work done at places like MTV and Fox. Only problem is, at least with the Fox instance, he was apparently very difficult to work with because he didn't know what he was doing and just gave up after that
plus if it was never a passion for him he never would have bothered to improve the way he did
He only says "oh animation was never my passion" because he's just coping that he could never do what he wanted with it and is just just deluding himself into thinking "yeah soulless let's play garbage is what I REALLY wanted to do" so it hurts less
speaking from expereince I've had several art friends that tried to make it their "passion" too and only one of them actually got anywhere with it while the rest of them basically followed the same path Arin did with mixed results
Arin's life since starting GG has just been on cope mode and he doesn't want to admit it. He can make as much money from LPs as he wants but because he won;t be honest he'll never be happy

Hell I hate Arin but in all honesty I think it's because he represents what I fear becoming most, a lazy asshole that takes the easier path because it's more lucrative, and I know I wouldn't be able to fight the temptation.
