The one in the OP has been angering some anons because it's allegedly rotoscope so the extra frames to make the animation more fluid is considered as this. Another example is anime with lots of swerving perspective. Think of it as shaky cam but the person holding the camera can fly and is getting motion sickness from it.

Rotoscope is the process of tracing in order to capture a specific type of movement in 2D. The OP animated sequence is CGI. It uses a process called motion capture, which is NOT rotoscoping.

There's nothing wrong with making alterations for adaptions of comic/book/ or game material. Especially source material that's long running like the Castlevania series. You don't strike gold every time, but when you do it's fantastic.

I quite enjoyed Drac's sob story motivation. Especially since the vampire war council reacted realistically to Drac's vendetta of genociding their primary food source. It's a good plot string.

Goblin Slayer is native isekai, which an isekai in which the hero doesn't travel to a new world. So just a fantasy story.

It hits all the marks of your average isekai.

Isekai's become a dirty word, but not because people hate world hopping stories. Like capeshit, it's a derogatory term for hack writing that falls on cliche and existing templates. Normally I'd just say GS is a weak power fantasy story, but it fits right into the "Isekai" template. It's just edgier than the usual stuff and the protagonist never says "I'm from a different world." All the negative aspects in terms of characterization, pandering, creativity, etc are the same. Go read some Sword Art, then read some Goblin Slayer. The difference is almost entirely surface level.

If it was just normal ass fantasy people would say that. Nothing's wrong with that. People compare it to isekai because it's written like isekai. If it was like Conan people would call it Japanese Conan. There's plenty of comics and manga that have similar influences that aren't compared to isekai and you're being disingenuous if you pretend you don't know why.
