Thus, no matter what you chose, a different timeline is created where it becomes canon. There's the original timeline, and then the other timelines which you create with your choices branch off of the original timeline.

They were never executed because Nick canned the project for three specials set after the show. The basic premises for those three specials turned into the first three ATLA graphic novels, so there's really nothing new left there to explore.
