I've only seen A Bug's Life and liked it, but that was way back when I was a little autist. The ants in Antz seem kind of creepy. Anyone here seen both?

Hilariously enough, I've never seen A Bug's Life but I've seen Antz. I liked it for the most part.

Antz is better but I like A Bugs Life more.

I've seen both when I was little though I remember watching bugs life much more than antz, not to mention that I saw the former first.

I've seen both and liked Antz better. But it's been a long time since I saw either of these movies, so I can't tell whether my opinion would still be the same if I were to rewatch them.

A Bugs Life just because of Hopper

A bugs life simply because I can look at it for more than 3 seconds

I absolutely love a bug's life, antz freaked me out when I was a kid due to the war scene. I should rewatch it though because even with that scene I still liked it as a kid, so I'd probably enjoy the hell out of it now.

A Bugs Life. Better villain, protagonist is more likable, the love interest is more likable, and the entire finale from the fake bird ploy all the way to getting the real bird to eat Hopper is A+.

The only thing Antz has going for it is that they act more like ants and has Sylvester Stallone.

I want to fuck that ant.

what debate?
Antz

I prefer Antz.
A Bug's Life is the Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa except for kids.

A Bugs Life, superior character design - going full cartoony, no dull brown.

A Bug's Life, while narratively unoriginal, has a bunch of fun a distinct characters that are engaging to watch.

Antz while a major theme being about standing out amongst a society built on conformity has the most bland characters in existence, none of whom are interesting in any way (except for Barbatus.

Chimera Ant arc, not even a contest

ANTZ
war, decapitation, drowning and that camping food scene where the wasp dies by a shoe.
That shit was brutal.

Antz was the better movie. Neither was bad.

>The great debate
Indeed.
Both are good movies. I'm surprised that Pixar, with it's penchant for one word titles, didn't go with the title 'Antz' instead. I wonder if there was some colluding going on between the two studios during production.

Seven Samurai for kids sounds kino tho

It's that much of a surprise really. Disputes it having ants as protagonists, all to the other insects have large roles to hence the name bugs life.

Forgot to add not at the start dang

Antz for fucking life

Ah, good point.

Antz takes on far more dark subject matter and they're ultimately different movies. Depends on what you're in the mood for

Antz was better back in 98 when computer animated movies were still a novelty, it was the first one to have a PG rating for language and violence, which worked better at the time against the cutesy Bugs Life. That being said Bugs Life is the one that stood the test of time better, Antz is an ugly ass, dark brown movie, with very ugly character design. Bugs Life has better character design and much better voice acting. I'll give a point to Antz for having much better humor, the perfect amount of sarcastic dryness. One of the best jokes in the movie is very subtle. The Wasp character that Dan Akroyd voices also talks and acts like a stereotypical WASP (white anglo saxton protestant)

I remember liking Antz less, but I also remember more from Antz. Maybe that says something?

I remember preferring Bug's Life when I saw it as a kid, and frankly it looks like it's aged a hell of a lot better than Antz did.

bugs life was too childish, without hopper it would be shit. ps1 game was okay, wish antz had one.

the true correct answer

The designs for the characters in Antz was fucking atrocious but it had a way better story than A Bug's Life.

>had the best ant designs but the worst story
Someone needs to combine all three

Antz is like the Sausage Party version of A Bug's Life.

A Bug's Life is one of the most based Pixar films, and has potential to give a great sequel.

You say that in a good or in a bad way?

...No? Antz is unironically 10 times more mature than Sausage Party. And so is A Bug's Life for that matter.

The one with Bruce Campbell.

Do you think i'm stupid? Do I look stupid to you?

YES!

its not a great debate because neither was a great movie

I remember the termite battle being a little disturbing but on the flip side James Woods being eaten by baby birds seemed to played for laughs

>not posting the best part

Bug's Life, how is this even a debate? Antz is an ugly Bee Movie-tier mess, it's the movie only liked by your weird friend in public school who later started doing codeine during recess. Bug's Life looks good, has likeable characters and is loved by everyone.

Can't beat Cage kino
I WANT IT!

you sound like a fag

Why is it called Antz anyway?

I really, REALLY miss the outtakes Pixar used to put in the closing credits.

Well, it's about ants
And the main character is called Z

I’ve never had a desire to rewatch bugs life. Antz is fun to revisit even if I only felt like hearing Stallone voice an ant. Also the warfare is better in antz than bugs life. It’s more interesting.

I very much prefer Antz' "ugly" characters to the round blobby plastic toys in A Bug's Life.

It's crazy how much worse it looks to both Bug's Life and Antz even when it came years after. Also it sucked.

both are alright

According to Internet Rumors, it was gonna be called "Bugs", but they changed it at some point.

Also Antz was made at the hands of a fired Disney exec, who wanted the movie finished before A Bugs Life came out just so he could spit in their eye.

I sometimes wonder if this is a real movie

That was mostly a product of the mid-90's when gag reels and outtakes were shown on tv specials. Nowadays, everybody has a gag reel/outtake compilation thrown in with special features or on a streaming video.

Antz had a better plot but I don't like Woody Allen, he's overrated and sort of annoying. But he did all right in Antz, better than normal and shitload less annoying than usual. Overall I liked Antz better despite Woody Allen's presence.

I loved Antz because of the war scene when I was a kid, the termite battle was sort of scary but it was one of the coolest parts. I actually wished Bug's Life was more violent when I was a kid.

Antz is trash and I have no idea how so many people like it
>Ah geez guys it's me woody allen and HOO boy let me tell you, we live in a society, y'know.
>pop culture!
>quips quips quips
>everyone is eternally smug
>dogshit war sequence
>product placement out the ass
>Ah geez
>the end

its better than a bugs life. how many of you faggots can even sit down through the whole movie now, try it. antz is actually good enough to hold an adults attention.

This. The entire plot was "society, eh?"
Flick is a much better protagonist than Z ever was, and the support cast was way better.
What other characters from Antz do you even remember? Let's see...there's bitchy princess, buff ant, sassy ant, and I think the bad guy was soldier ant.

>hehehe...it has violence, so it's a mature cartoon!
Retard.

can you name anyone from that gay preschool movie besides hopper and flick

The one not made by a jewish pedophile.

?

samefaggot and children cant post here.

Is it true that A Bug's Life is basically the same film as Seven Samurai?

Dot, Heimlick that's it without looking up names the cast was definitely more colourful and memorable in Bugs life, I fondly and distinctly remember all the circus bugs and their characters, the fly's were fun too. Antz I only remember Stallone because OMG decapitation mirroring the sentiments of the rest of the thread equally traumatizing and fascinating as a kid and Woody Allen ant who was never really likable even as a kid and rewatching now he's a down right peice of shit.

...

Why do these kind of youtubers feel the need to add some fake depth and muh philosophy bullshit to a video that could just show some scene comparisons and plot similarities
It takes over 3 minutes of pseud musings before he actually talks about the title of the video

>Acts ditzy, bratty and careless
>The micro/macro stuff, where she almost kills the main characters multiple times, without realizing it, but also doing it intentionally
>That exposed midriff and navel
>Feet in sandals
>That one disturbing scene where they get vored by the frog
>Shrinking
I'm pretty sure this movie gave me multiple fetishes

>Sylvester Stallone
Was that not Patrick Warburton?

What the fuck Gene Hackman and Christopher Walken were in this too?

both aren't particularly great.

as a movie A bugs life is better, still not a great movie.

But as a giant fuck you Antz might be the finest fuck you in modern western animation history.

This, Woody Allen can go suck exhaust.

It's practically a standard plot at this point.
Closer to The Three Amigos treatment of the concept.

Fuck this faggot for making a bunch of zoomers believe that the Black Cauldron has any actual worth.

Guy's I just realized something.
Not only are these two animated films about ants fighting systemic oppression.

Both film's have a pedophile as a headliner.

And they all had faces made to resemble those of their actors.

I'll forgive him because of his magnum opus on Treasure Planet.

The kid looks like they edited a model of Jimmy Neutron.

Retard.

That was Kevin Spacey unless Antz also had a baby bird feeding scene.

I liked seven samurai for teens
youtu.be/TrccvQSqAV8

It does, shut the fuck up

Really disposes the scud

It was made by the same studio.

Bugs Life the game

>that thorax

>quips quips quips
>everyone is eternally smug

Embarassing. Work on your arguments.

Neither of these movies were good. They are only still talked about from time to time because of this stupid feud.

There's a reason A Bug's Life is hardly ever brought up when talking Pixar. It's because it was a bland movie sandwiched between the first 2 Toy Story films. It felt more like a late Disney renaissance movie than it did a Pixar movie, but with none of the charm or ingenuity.
