Yeah, Gary and Avocato had a genuinely cool friendship. I missed their dynamic in the end.

Little Cato didn't have much going for him beyond wanting revenge. And I didn't dislike Gwen, but I thought she was too no-nonsense to have any feasible romantic interest in Gary. Especially considering that the only history they had together was him lying to her in a bar and sending hundreds of messages that she never got.

So, any chance of there being a time loop like there was in the original pilot?

Speaking of dynamics, however: there seems to be a problem where all the protags feel detached in their separate circles or cliques (Lil Cato, Avo and Gary, Quinn) from each other that the team's eventual collective devastation from Avocato's death didn't manifest enough for me; even moreso with the placement literally right after the highly energetic climax which felt so disorienting (this is coming from someone who saw it coming with the pilot BTW)...

The dramatic elements played out beautifully, don't get me wrong. I know they want the pain to hit instantly too...but I feel they pulled it off a bit too fast to register (took me to Gary breaking down at the next episode for me to really get hit). I wish there was some filler in between just to let things get recollected better because of this...would help make room for some character development too (like Quinn's).
