Only 300? Simpsons has been going since December of 1989 and is nearing 700 episodes. South Park is only 8 years younger so that's fucking weird given how cheap and fast the episodes can be made.

They have a higher budget. Viacom wants South Park to be their MVP.

They only do like 10-16 episodes a season compared to The Simpsons' 22-26 episodes a season. Even if they'd started 10 years before they would still be behind by a huge margin.

South Park used to do like 14 episodes per season (sometimes more) until Matt and Trey turned into lazy retards.
