Nah. All of them were pretty good. Some had short reigns but most if not all of them did well by the realm. Not every Targaryen has been great, but not every has been mad either. If you've never been around Tibetans irl or have had dealings with them it's understandable to believe they're all monks, given how hard they try to sell that as their brand (so to speak) abroad and especially to the West, which is understandable if dishonest, given the circumstances. The Air Nomads, taking so many visual and cultural cues from the Tibetans, also plays into this distorted narrative, that every Air Nomad is a monk or a nun, and since there's nothing in the lore that explores the Air Nomad culture beyond their four temples, it's easy to draw the conclusion that the temples are all there is to their culture, but I've lived in Chengdu and other parts of China with Tibetan communities, and by and large most of them are just regular people, with regular jobs and lives and are interested in sex, starting families, and procreation the old fashioned way as much as any other community of people. Personally, my headcanon for the Air Nomads is that they actually have a very violent side, or at least a very violent history, that Aang was sheltered from since he was raised in a monastery and never matured into being an adult in the Air Nomad culture before he was frozen in ice and they were wiped out. Historically, the Tibetans waged war against the Chinese interior much as the Mongols and other steppe people did, and I could see the Air Nomads doing the same to the other three nations. Think Ghenghis Khan but with cavalry that could fly.

The Air Nomads could very well (by Aang's time at least) have some system set up where lay nomads congregate at one of the temples to give birth and leave their children in the care of the monks while mom and dad go off and do....nomad things. I sometimes fantasise about the story if Zuko would have not existed.
When mostly Azula hunts for Aang, but being the elusive little skinhead he eventually intrigues her and we get a friendship arc like with Zuko.
But abviouly she is not just femZuko. She has her own problems different from Zuko, but I think Aang could help her overcome/master/control them.

That chink of uncertainty over being perfect not existing would just make her a ruthless tyrant to be. She is confronted by the avatar? So what? He is the one in the wrong here as far as Azula is concerned, the Fire Nation is meant to rule over a world of backwater peasants and she is meant to lead the Fire Nation.
And if the Phoenix King takes too much time to die? Well, this Azula doesn't need to feel validated since she has a lifetime of knowing she has no flaws, so making Ozai's reing shorter mean little to her. After all she was going to succeed him anyways, and she will do better than him.

Because writing qualitty somewhat dropped by the end of the series i.e. Dragon Turtle Ex Machina and Energy bending out of their ass. Zuko taking the shot for Katara and then having her and Toph take Azula out in a second round would have been a lot better.
