Mao Mao

The amount of fan art this show has gotten in the past month, despite only having one episode, is pretty damn staggering. Why is this show resonating with the masses so much? On the day it was announced, it was even trending on twitter.

There's supposed to be a new episode on Monday, but then we're stuck waiting until the end of June before the next one.

Furries.

The art from the crew themselves is also pretty neat

Designs are eye-catching and easy to replicate for fanart
For the porn it's a cat, and a black one at that

Artists like 90's anime-inspired/influenced characters and designs. It's why Owl House exploded with fanart while Amphibia struggles.

Did ep 2 air already? Got a mega to it?

It's the highest-T show on Cartoon Network, but it's cuddly enough you can go cute too.

It exemplifies, quite simply, the power of appealing character designs. It's why The Owl House is getting more fan art than Amphibia. Mao Mao is CUTE and easy to draw.

Adorabat is pretty much the main character, right? She's the first character introduced and her voice singing the theme song.

That design would be 100x if he had oversixed hands. The proportions overall look weird.

Ep 1 was pretty good, the main cast has that early adventure time vibe that makes the show very easy to watch.

The intro and outro are cute.

Yup. Very anime.

This monday on the app

People love drawing fanart of new and upcoming shows as an attempt to get noticed by the show crew on twitter.

Now we pray Cartoon Network doesn't murder it.

the cat is a cute thicc male shortstack
It's pretty obvious dude

And his partner is a literal bara, and they raise a child together.

This art is really cute, especially since the show is inspired by toy-centric cartoons like TMNT and He-Man

eh, badgerclops is more a debu than a bara, he's too round and chubby to be on that archetype.

Cause normies love cats as much as internet nerds.

>There's supposed to be a new episode on Monday
Neat. I didn't know when this show was supposed to get more episodes.

Is it intentional that Mao Mao looks like a villain?

Villains always look cool. He wants to look cool.

i gotta say the male cast of Mao Mao makes me violently horny

Probably. It's a fun contrast since he looks like an edgelord but he's actually got a pretty strong sense of justice and specifically wants to be a legendary HERO who protects people, not just for the fame and recognition

Debus are more cultured than baras.

A villain? nah, an edgelord? yes. That's the joke pretty much, having this tryhard edgelord binded to this cutesy town by his own principles.

based and true

I'm naming that gorilla Harambe.

So glad he is the chill bro instead of the extremely stupid sidekick.

badgerclops is the apex of husbando hierarchy

King Snugglamane

I really like Adorabat and it's sickening.

I wonder why she has a peg leg if her home has been protected for so long.

It's possible she might have just been born without a leg

She's way too adorable, fuck.

>Shows where the storyboards are more nice looking than the final product.

Am I the only one who has noticed this trend with some current cartoons? the PPG 2016 reboot, for example

The how to draw songs are super cute

youtu.be/QBjrqBaHE78

youtu.be/Bn818ZCzY2Q

youtu.be/v2EVnb3ziDE

Most likely because the designs are incredibly simple and easy to draw fan art of.

That scene is amazing in the intro though.

Pretty authentic sounding Japanese drawing songs.

There's a very toriyama-like style to the vehicles in this that I like
