Apparently somebody at DC loves that Gotham High concept written by Melissa de la Cruz of the Blue Bloods series and illustrated by Thomas Pitilli.

Dan Didio probably seething in his office about this one.

The Lost Carnival: a Dick Grayson Graphic Novel will be written by Michael Moreci and illustrated by Sas Milledge.

Babs has quietly been getting a massive push... What's shaking?

>that Joker

Thanks, I hate it.

nice

I hope these have more color to them. I didn’t like Raven and Catwoman’s books being basically black and white.

I think I'm going to read the Cass, Oracle and Beast Boy books, the other two don't seem that interesting for me

Interesting

They finally did it. After all these years they finally got their "Batman in high school." But this time it's actually Bruce.

Im too old for teenage comics.

But if they sexualize teen girls then its for me.

>Gotham High
Damn, now I remember that Parody trailer from 2012.

Omg, really?

Yep.

They tried to make it a cartoon originally

The Raven book comes out next month

Weird, isn't? You'd think Cass, Dinah, or Helena would get a push because of the movie, or Kate because of her TV show. Babs isn't in anything outside of comics as-far-as-we-know.

I love that Ivy and Freeze.

Who fucks tho?

I think it's Selina and Bruce or Babs and Bruce.

>Michel More
This sounds interesting

This is the only book with a comic book writer on it.

Well, the books are aimed at the YA market so it makes sense they'd hire YA novelists

And it's not like 90% of comic writers are that good or can write anything aimed at a general audience. They probably want to avoid dismembered limbs and pages of Oracle being crippled over and over again because the author has some kind of self-loathing torture fetish.

>Picolo drawing Titans comics
Man why DC isn’t trumpeting this to high Heaven is beyond me. His renditions of the Titans in high school were all over the place.

always shit at advertising new stuff

She’s been pushed as Batgirl since 2011 despite being out of the role for decades prior. Her getting pushed as Oracle instead is pretty good honestly, she’s had eight years of comics that rarely rose over “just okay”.

I wonder if they'll get to do one for Robin, Cyborg, and Starfire.

>Bruce/Babs would've been the ship of the show

oh dear

Considering they just announced a sequel to a comic that hasn’t released yet, I’d say the chances are high. They’re really confident about these Titan books, pre-orders might just be high.

It's number one in "Young Adult Coming of Age Comics and Graphic Novels" on amazon.com, but that's a very specific category.
It's not in the top 100 regular listings (but that listing also includes singles from Kindle)

He does his own advertising anyway. Perks of getting popular via social media is that you can boost your own projects directly to your audience.

It's like everyone who approaches the characters from the outside instantly realizes that Babs is way cooler as Oracle, but editorial refuses to give up on her as Batgirl.

The one I am most interested in.

Glad Cass is getting more of a push with this and Oitsiders.

We're getting BBxRae, right?

That she's Batgirl in one makes me double happy.

No. Raven has her own love interest.

Jesus christ, these look like regular drama novels, with the way the author names are as large as the damn titles.

Blue Bloods is one of the most trashy YA novels i ever read. If Melissa de la Cruz is in top of her game this thing could be the "Injustice" for girls.

>If Melissa de la Cruz is in top of her game this thing could be the "Injustice" for girls.

Explain. How can something be Injustice for girls

They are aiming for this "aesthetic". Gives a feel of a more "mature" story.

Not that user, but whereas guys are usually shown beating the shit out of each other, girls are usually shown tearing each other up emotionally. Like Mean Girls but not a parody.

I get that, I just don't get the Injustice comparison.

The new "hip" and "cool" reinterpretation of a character. No longer the nerdy and thoughtful one.

I know right? They're so obviously trying to trick people into thinking they're novels.

they have original novels coming out too, with humans on the covers

The comparison could work in the sense that the Injustice comic sold extremely well for a game tie in, and was a lot of people’s first foray into comics. These YA titles could possibly be the first foray into comics for a lot of young girls if they catch on. I mean, after Percy Jackson concluded I was willing to give other books by Riordan a shot, so these writers have a fan base that they could bring over.

> Cass as Batgirl.

Somewhere Dan Didio is screaming at why someone approved this comic and not his beloved Babs.

Between that and it being Dick Grayson, he must be pissed.

this looks good

>neither blonde nor green
illegal

i'd imagine it's more to prevent continuity lockout, most of these teenagers won't be familiar with killing joke or any comics really

do you just draw enough fanart and they hire you? is that how it works?

Attached: 1432276093134.gif (270x267, 494K)

Didio can't jack off to Babs in a wheelchair. She has to be the BATGIRL ETERNAL so he can keep sexually fantasizing about her, you see?

The bottom line to getting hired as an artist is your portfolio. Picolo has multiple viral renditions of the Titans as part of his, so in a way, yeah actually.

Why are all their pants so baggy?

The only reason I don’t care to pick up that book.

I remember Angie Nasca who works on Miraculous (and now working on Pixie Girl as well) got a job through fan-art by the Zag man himself apparently. She's pretty good, her style reminds me of Lauren Faust.

You've gotta be lucky too and manage to stand out from the rest I guess. Just keep going at it, you know?

What is it with certain artists obsession with drawing Cass in a cutesy domino masks?

Nicole Goux is a super cutie irl but her bf is a doucher

because that was a godless era

more

This DA shit was never even pitched, its just the artists' unproven claim.

shit was outdated even in 2009.

all i found on the wiki

>Raven has her own love interest.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY

where's steph's solo

None of this shit looks good

Attached: 1493068532938.jpg (750x722, 62K)

Too over the top that it loops back from edgy into hilarious

Give it time, maybe someone will make a Spoiler book.

It's a great idea to diversify into new audiences. The biggest stumble is that the three existing Zoom/Ink books are completely trash.

Give me a quick rundown on it.

This might have been good. Better than The Batman for sure.

Fuck off

Oh you liked that dumpster fire?

God dammit all I want is more Gotham Academy it's perfect for this line. Why do you do this instead?

Oh right. This is a thing. I hope its good.
