Grown men are crying and its making some people mad but they gotta understand nerds

...

youtube.com/watch?v=8JpbCCKpxQI&feature=youtu.be

So they did it. They made a Millennium Falcon ride that has no Han, barely any Chewie, and instead this gay Mexican Disney OC as the star. This fucking park is going to bomb and bomb hard like everything else in Disney Wars.

>ride is completely empty
>no crowds at grand opening of DISNEY WARS land
OH NO NO NO NO

I don't care; just tell me if the lightsabers are good for fighting or not.

The only lightsabers that are good for fighting are ironically enough the cheap toy ones. The big expensive ones aren't designed to stand up to a lot of abuse, while the toy ones are designed specifically so that kids can bang them on shit.

Alright, Yea Forums, we're going to DIDNEY WORL!
we're gonna see MICKI MOOSE!
and DONAL DUK!

Attached: such a royal kek.png (435x435, 183K)

>oh boy time to go ride the Millennium Falcon!
>I bet we get to see Han and Chewie!
>NOPE have a retarded Disney OC instead
Disney is so desperate to wash away everything non-Disney in Star Wars, it's so fucking obvious too

Attached: disneyland monkey faggot.jpg (1920x1080, 306K)

Not.
Fucking.
Yea Forums.

It's 7:30 and they were all there before park was opened. These people had special access because they had resort passes.

Really? I haven't seen the new ones. I hope they are durable if I'm paying over $100.

Storm Trooper detected

>n-no Star Wars Land wasn't empty, it was just a vip event!
Keep lying to yourself, Disney shill

>I hope they are durable if I'm paying over $100.
They won't be. $100+ lightsabers have been around for a while but the technology required to make them look bright and realistic is exactly why they're not particularly durable. They're meant to be collector's items rather than something you can actually fight with.

Though if you wanted to actually fight the way they do in the movies, you'd basically need disposable lightsabers anyway. They used reinforced steel rods for filming and those still got bent and shattered regularly.

Take my straw poll, tell me how you really feel then

Yeah I wish they had more of the original characters but you gotta admit that looks amazing.

No, it looks like utter kiddified shit like everything Disney does to this franchise, and fuck you for defending this shit

Wow didn't know that, thanks! Take my poll

So the whole park is the grimy market outpost that Rey lived in at the start of TFA? No Tattooine, or Coruscant, or Hoth? Disney really blew it. I don't think it will bomb but I find it hugely disappointing that they didn't use their IP to its full extent.

The original had literal teddy bears walking around, my friend.

Yeah good point hopefully they add more places.

Gotta agree with this user here. Disney Nu-Wars isn't Yea Forums it is Yea Forums. Disney killed the EU and all of the recent cartoons have been nothing more than terrible beatings to a long dead horse.

It's a complete oc planet

He's not an OC, he appeared in Clone Wars and Rebels

Attached: 1557415033791.jpg (640x480, 45K)

Yea the one thing that sticks out to me is, they had all the different amazing looking worlds to choose from in 8 movies and two tv series, and they chose to make what looks like some shitty west African village but with scifi shit added to it and called it Star Wars land.

Yea, those are Disney OC series user, hope you realize some day

>they want you to buy 200$ lightsabers and be immersed in le story
>won't let you come in jedi robes

Why do only Florida parks exist in your poll?

only parks that matter

>So the whole park is the grimy market outpost that Rey lived in at the start of TFA?
Not only does it look nothing like Jakku, it's actually an original location. It's basically meant to seem familiar to the Star Wars universe without representing an existing planet.

I think Tatooine is played out, but I would've liked Coruscant. No idea why you'd think Hoth would be a good location for this concept, though. The place is meant to be so desolate and inhospitable that nobody would even believe that the rebels would want to go there, much less a frequently visited outpost.

I think the bigger issue isn't the location, but the fact that it's set in the sequel trilogy, which makes it feel limited because the ST setting in general just doesn't have a lot going for it. I get that they want to promote the newest trilogy, but there's basically nothing Galaxy's Edge that required it to be in the ST. It could've easily fit in the OT.

>Clone Wars
>Rebels
>not Disney
imagine being this retarded

>not including disneyland

Attached: wat.png (2880x1502, 1.73M)

Nu-wars isn't Yea Forums
Disney parks are Yea Forums because they are adaptions of cartoons and comics much like the MCU is. Sometimes they include animation too

Theme parks are not Yea Forums.
Fuck off and go to /out/ or another board you Disney shill.

>Theme parks are not Yea Forums
Ok I expect all MCU and DCEU banned by tomorrow since that's also not Yea Forums

As it should. If the jannies did anywhere close to a subpar job. This board wouldn't be a shit filled bucket in an uncleaned teenage girl's bathroom.

>Pic related.
The sage, hide, and report actions still work. Why anons don't use them is something I don't understand.

Apparently this shit happened yesterday

Well every other kind of retard has infiltrated the Star Wars fandom I guess it was only fair the antivaxers get their chance to embarrass us

>gay Mexican Disney OC
Isn't that just that one pirate from TCW?

We have come a long way

you idiot Hondo existed in Legends too

*wipes tears from laughing*

Imagine believing Disneyland is comparable to Magic Kingdom.

I have to say the land seems pretty disappointing only like one ride, the area looks generic as fuck and they just put it on some random planet no one cares about, and only allowed all the. ST shit just so you can pay $200 for a fucking lightsaber

Disneyland Cast Member here. Yesterday was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, the rest of the park was noticeably not as busy than usual. I imagine this is because you can only get into Galaxy's Edge if you got a reservation.

I worked at the Launch Bay, where we had a lot of Galaxy's Edge merchandise for sale. I got to see some very "enthusiastic" Star Wars fans.

What's your favorite water park strawpoll:

strawpoll.com/e5xkb58g

They both have their downsides

Attached: magic kingdom small world.jpg (1280x720, 145K)

Um that's blasphemous. Disney himself created It's a Small World and it's a beautiful ride and wonderful for all ages, as well as seating people at a very fast rate due to seat room in each boat.

Why didn't Disney put more effort into the non-pilot jobs? You just press buttons as they light up and have to concentrate so you can't see the action.

They should have added some screens, and interesting shit you can't see from other positions. Heck they could have just positioned the seats and buttons in a way where you'd always be facing the main screen and have you perform some actions that relate to what's going on (say angle the shield to block projectiles or lessen a collision).

Did u see Jenny?
I don't think they sell stuff that's says galaxy's edge inside the land
Also you left out light side and dark side sabers being built in the same plsce

She's there as a walk around character too
Also have you made a saber or are you just going off videos?

they put the mural from Palpatine's office as one of the first things you see when walking into one doors for one of the stores

Yeah, they made Batuu because they wanted a setting that would be conductive to going on your own Star Wars adventure instead of just reliving the movies.

Anybody interested in the new Ghibli theme park?

DIDNY

Coruscant has extremely tall buildings and flying cars, Tattooine has sand all over the place and regular sand storms and two suns in the sky, Hoth has lots of snow, few small buildings, and is cold unlike what Florida and California is usually like.

they aren't building the stuff from the old movies probably in order to have an area: designed with fire codes in mind, designed to abide by US disability accomidation laws, to avoid bad sight lines from elsewhere in the park, fitting into the space they have available, fitting what was or will be potentially shown on screen to where they want to put specific attractions and their queues, matching the purpose of the buildings shown on screen to what they want to have in the area, having spacial design to accommodate how many people they expect to have, looking aesthetically pleasing at many angles, designed to accommodate electrical and water infrastructure, easier to accomidate what they want to happen in new movies that could potentially affect what people should expect in that area in the park, that looks like at the time period they want to be in and doesn't annoy people with how things should have logically changed in the area relative to what people might have seen in a movie, and other reasons

'Disney', 'Lake Buena Vista, Fl', 'China', and 'Star Wars Galaxy's edge' probably don't refer to real places in the Star Wars universe the people there in ther Star Wars universe just put those things on the packages because they find it amusing. It's similar to how Haagen-Dazs was never actually made in Central Europe, but rather was always from the United States.
: ^ )

Apparently Kylo will confront guests sometimes about the resistance

tfw never get accused of being a resistance traitor by Kylo Ren

why does it hurt?

I understand why for practicality, since it will be easy for people to get confused between employees and guests if everyone is dressed up in costume. But yeah, kind of ruins the idea of immersion. I guess they could do something like have employees in a special color and make it super SUPER clear that if someone is not wearing that special color scheme, they're not an employee? I dunno.

yikes

>booohoooohooo why cant i come in jedi robes, pretend to be a cast member and kidnap people ;_________;

>We can't keep letting Disney get that prize every year! Gentlemen, how do we make Knott's Berry Farm the new Rapiest Place on Earth?

Attached: board-meeting24713g.jpg (451x451, 171K)

I want Kylo to kidnap me and probe my mind for resistance secrets

I want Kylo to kidnap me and probe my mind for resistance secrets and have a stormtrooper blast me in the chest when he's done pulling out all my pitiful secrets which amount to nothing useful and my body is nothing but an annoying heap on the interrogation room floor, resistance trash to be tossed into a furnace

I want Hux to pistol whip me in the face

>kylo
Fuck that nerd its ST trash if some faggot nu stormtrooper wants to rumble ill earn my lifetime ban

I want Phasma to sob into my shoulder while we're trapped in the trash

You have no idea how mad I am that the new trilogy came out in the midst of modern fandom so we'll never get what would have been obligatory "send her to my chambers" dubcon fic of Hux and Rose based on this scene where he gently lifts her chin with his gloved fingers and the implication is that she only got executed because she bit him.

Attached: modern fandom says you can't have it.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

There is still plenty of excellent Kylo and Hux content out there, dubcon and more. Antis hate it of course, but they can die mad about it.

Isn't there also a major Mumps outbreak at UF now in kids that weren't vaccinated? this shit never gets old.

I want Rose to watch as Finn sweeps Rey into his arms and kisses her, and live with the guilt that she nearly killed the resistance for a boy who doesn't love her

I want to drink blue milk fresh from the tits of a space cow

I want to HA HA HA HA, HO HO HO! BOY ARE WE IN LUCK! WE'RE VISITING OUR LAUGHING PLACE, YUK YUK YUK YUK YUK! OH HO HO, EVERYBODY'S GOT A LAUGHING PLACE A LAUGHING PLACE TO GO-HO-HO. TAKE YOUR FROWN, TURN IT UPSIDE-DOWN, AND YOU'LL FIND YOURS WE KNOW-HO-HO!

Attached: tahu dance.gif (500x473, 3.77M)

>no 4D space cow tits experience

I want my money back, Disney

oh it was a brain slip, I meant Rose. But yeah there's a surprising amount of Kylo/Hux out there and god does it piss people off!

I wish there was more Kylo/Finn content. There was potential.

Based

>Implying Han would let anyone but Chewie or Lando fly his ship
The plot wouldn't work if he was involved. Besides, Hondo is based Jim Cummings and existed in the EU before Disney bought Lucasfilm. Stop being such a casual and enjoy the fun spaceship ride.

Be the change. I'll admit I have no idea what potential, but what were you thinking?

>Threadshitting this hard because "reeeeeee mousefags get out"
Seethe harder. I don't like the sequel trilogy but the Disney theme parks are modern marvels of engineering and imagination for the most part.

Nope just executive mandates. Gotta focus on the Disney Trilogy

>I mean, is this all-ages theme park attraction made to appeal to CHILDREN or something??
If it makes you feel any better, I bet your autism would allow you to skip the line if you told a cast member.

>lol turn off your brain
Fake fans like you are the reason Star Wars is dead

This is kinda the best option for a singular contained land desu.
It would've felt underwhelming if it was just ONE of a dozen iconic planets, so they made a new one that feels generally Star Wars so you can make your own adventure, with Star Tours being the designated "ride the movies" ride.

Not a bad idea desu.

star wars """""""""""""""""fans"""""""""""""""""""""' still seething

Kylo always seemed more aware of Finn than he would an ordinary stormtrooper, even a rebellious one. I want backstory of the two of them interacting before TFA. I wanted him to go after Finn and drag him back to the Order. I think a lot of 'Rey makes Kylo good' scenarios would work better with Finn in place of Rey too.

Yea because a generic as fuck planet with no lore and no place in Star Wars mythos will be fucking great at that.

People want to hang at the Cantina at Jabba's palace, the Jedi Temple, THE DEATH STAR. not "no name mc bland fuck"

>HOW DO YOU DO?
>SUCKING ON A WEINER
>SOMEONE SAID SHOW US YOUR BALLS

Finn was a damn Janitor on the Starkiller base.

Still don't get how a supposed trained from childhood trooper is so damn green.

I'm sure that Episode 9 will involve a chinaman in a baseball hat eating peanut butter as he travels to Florida

More like a "Harrison Ford threatened to ram his helicopter into Cinderella Castle if we ever said the words "Star Wars" around him again" issue.

He's begging for some creative license.

I gotta give the current fandom props for how creative they can be. The evolution of Matt from the SNL skit to a fully fleshed-out character has been great to see, as has the adoption of Techie from Dredd. But I wish they'd give the same treatment to some of the other canon characters.

Also nobody talks about the fact that Poe shot Finn's stormtrooper friend at the beginning of TFA. More missed potential!

>What if on the Timber Mountain Log Ride, instead of having guys jump out and SCARE people on Halloween... They jumped out and RAPED people on Halloween?

Fuck Harrison Ford I want to go back in time and convince Burt Reynolds to take the role because Ford has been such a bitter sour fuck ruining everything.

>Waaah, waaaaah, why isn't everyone as much of a casual as meeeee? N-not muh Star Wars!!

I like the cut of your jib Gordon

I permanently associate Star Tours with this cover of Zip a Dee Doo Dah ever since I saw this when I was like 3.

Harrison Ford was always right though.
Han had fucking nothing to do in Jedi and him dying was arguably the best thing about TFA.

Wait did people really do "the evolution of Matt from the SNL skit to a fully fleshed-out character?" That's beautiful. I love Matt.

I actually never realized that Poe shot Finn's stormtrooper friend at the beginning of TFA. Damn that does beg for some drama or introspection or just... something.

>Star Wars is mainstream and corporate

I can't believe it I'm literally shaking rn

>Consider dropping fat stacks on a lightsaber
>Realize the real fun is building a custom droid that can follow you around and beep at your enemies
R Unit or BB Unit?

I can understand why Ford was never really impressed with Han as a character. He honestly doesn't have a lot of meat to him- he has an arc in ANH, and that's over and he's left kind of struggling to have something to do. His story in ESB helps develop Leia more than it does Han, who's the same person at the end as he is at the beginning. His lack of a backstory never really matters because you never really ask yourself why Han is the way he is. The EU couldn't really give him an engaging backstory and Disney couldn't either. Ford's performance is about the only interesting thing about Han, without him there's not much there. He isn't fun to read about, either.

The ride takes place after Han is dead, it wouldn't make sense chronologically.

For some reason, the entire park is themed to be "Just before Episode 9" to the point that stormtroopers follow supreme leader kylo ren around.

My head says R my heart says gonk

Every single one of those are store bought. They wouldn't be allowed in the 501st with those costumes.

Yeah it was a really fun trend.

I wish Finn fans didn't shy away from angst so hard. It makes his character flatter when everything is coffee shop AUs and nothing is "I've seen people I love killed on both sides of this war" introspection.

I'd go R2 unit. I've never liked the BB design. For all its faults, Star Wars Resistance had a droid that looked like a better idea for what a newer and more advanced astromech should look like. It's based on unused OT concept art so it already feels like more thought was put into it beyond "ball with an R2 head"

Attached: R4-D77_Resistance.png (666x894, 639K)

I kind of hope that Claudia Grey gets to tackle something with Finn at some point in the future. I loved what she did with Master & Apprentice and I could see something with Finn's time in the Order, ending with those last few hours being really interesting.

>I loved what she did with Master & Apprentice
I don't even care about Finn, but I'd read a Finn book by Gray. She's easily the best author they have right now.

Attached: ma-nigga.jpg (291x209, 12K)

I'd read the shit out of this, but I'd also read any Star Wars stuff she puts out.

I wish we could have seen what Gray would have done with Padme instead of the bland and sometimes weird Queen's Shadow book we got.

> She's easily the best author they have right now.

Oh definitely. Gray is the one of the few, if not the only, authors they have right now who actually has a narrative voice and who understands how to structure SW stories into novels.

>I wish we could have seen what Gray would have done with Padme instead of the bland and sometimes weird Queen's Shadow book we got.
I didn't even bother. I didn't really like the Ahsoka novel much so I wasn't interested in more from that author. The novel wasn't even really bad, just forgettable as all hell. I can't even remember anything except that one girl had a clear crush on her. When I read that one of the inquisitors from the Vader comic was supposed to be the one from Ahsoka I was just like "wait, there was an inquisitor? I think I kind of remember that"

I'm a Padme junkie so I even pre-ordered it, though in retrospect I wish I'd read their Ahsoka novel first so I could have just waited it out with a library hold. Forgettable as all hell describes the Padme novel pretty well, with the exception of "oh yeah and Padme was bi curious with Sabe, sometimes" included.

The Inquisitor's role was pretty tiny anyway. He's the closest thing the book has to an actual antagonist, but he basically shows up at the end just to get killed. Like if this were a movie, he'd be introduced in the last 10 minutes, and once he meets the hero he'd have a very quite minute-long fight and die.

So Darth Maul?

Worse. Imagine it this way, Episode 1 has no Sidious, no Nute Gunray, not even a Watto. The Trade Federation is there but they have no central character representing them. Right as the heroes are coming back to Naboo, we are introduced to Maul who has taken notice of them. He shows up on Naboo, talks to a Trade Federation officer, and hangs out. Once he runs into the heroes, the entire fight is that one part where Obi-Wan is hanging in the pit and Maul is swiping his lightsaber against the edge, and then Obi-Wan does his high ground trick and cuts him in half. That's how small of a role the book's biggest villain has.

is the reservation system for star wars land the future of crowd management ?

Theme Parks have done reservation systems before.
The Jimmy Fallon ride uses Virtual queuing

But like none of the CMs wear Jedi robes in Batuu. And initially they said costumes would be allowed and then backpedalled. I’m assuming what happened is that someone pointed out the logistics of only allowing costumes in the land, if you ban it in the rest of the park, and they changed their minds.

It’s unfortunate, but I guess I can get by with just disneybounding.

Imagine all the people that died to let you post this comment online

I love moose.

Jenny is untouchable, obviously. And honestly I saw a lot of pictures of people basically in costume at least for the opening so Disney is somewhat understanding. As long as you aren’t wearing a mask, full make up, or full length capes, they probably won’t bother you.
And I heard blue milk was okay, Green is just garbage apparently? Maybe they’ll tweak the recipe by WDW’s opening?

This isn't Qatar slave labor no one dies in construction

she just went as a regular guest

that's what (((they))) want you to think

The Gungans?

user the employees don't call disneyland mouseschwitz for no reason

I thought Magic Kingdom was mouseschwitz and disneyland was mousedanek

He existed long before that you dumb retard. Did you even watch TCW?

I don't watch disney shit

The state of this thread

Says the whiney piece of shit that had the nerve to call himself a so-called "true Star Wars fan"

Holy shit you are absolutely retarded that you don't even know where he's fron. Hondo existed long before Disney bought the rights. How did you not realize this? Are you even a real Star Wars fan?

Reminder: There has and never will be anything good from Star Wars. The first three films were hot garbage like any film or media afterwards and you're being told you have to like that to fit in, so you get obsessed with terrible films to the point you ruin threads like these

>Doesn't know the difference between the Legends version and Canon version of a character
absolute brainlet

this thread is basically kill

>$100 for a droid that's fucking 14 inches tall

The BB units somewhat acceptable but the R units are fucking microscopic. I don't give a fuck if they want people carrying them around, they should have been $200 and double the size at least.

Eh, it was cursed from the start.
We'll get the next one. Whoever made this shouldn't start with the Star Wars stuff so we don't attract the autists

Star Wars tends to do that here. The only thing more obnoxious than the franchise itself are the haters who zero in on even the slightest reference to spill their bile and rhetoric.

>i cant wait for you to take me to galaxys edge user

Attached: jenny rex selfie.jpg (1280x1707, 287K)

Don't need to, because you've just proen that you are a fan by name only and just a toxic piece of shit. No real Star Wars fan would ever allow this

Hondo's been canon long before the Disney buyout you retard. Any Star Wars fan would know this. How can you not?

I hate everything about that franchise. The new media, the old media, the fanboys, the haters, the politics shitters on both sides. Cancer

well its the biggest addition in disneylands history and its gotta be one of the biggest in wdw outside of a new park opening
I dont think there was a way to have a thread this close to the opening and not have it come up

Why did you make her sad user?

wait, we have mandatory onions refreshing stations now, that's A M A Z I N G

Toy Story Lands were already open in Paris and Hong Kong with the same type of rides. I don't know why people were expecting anything grander when it was clear Disney just wanted something cheap to act as filler for the park while they worked on Galaxy's Edge.
At least it lead to construction of a third track for Mania.

Speaking of Mania, I'm surprised they haven't announced plans to update the ride with TS4 content considering one of the talking points was how easy it is to replace stuff on the ride (with Bo Peep's Baaa-loon Pop being replaced by Rex and Trixie's Dino Darts once TS3 came out)

Attached: lotso_posters2010ww.jpg (766x553, 154K)

D23 maybe in order to compensate for rise of the resistance/ mickey ride not being open

reminder that the shops in galaxys edge have more animatronics then all of pandora

That's not happening until August though while Toy Story 4 comes out June 21.
They added the TS3 stuff more than a month before that film came out in cinemas.

Was opening day Slinky Dog this bad?
I might rethink my trip there next summer...

I dont really think it would make much of a difference people are gonna ride it regardless

Attached: donalds car.jpg (1024x1002, 194K)

fair point
you think RotR is going to be opening with WDW galaxy's edge? It looked finished in all those trailers, if they fix the supposed bluetooth problems it should be a quick fix right at least I hope so when I go in september

>you think RotR is going to be opening with WDW galaxy's edge?
depends if construction started at the same time as DL galaxy's edge or later.

You know that vaccines are actually rendering children infertile, right?

>ride is less then 5 minutes
>no time to enjoy being in the cockpit and just fucking with buttons and switches
oof

eugenics are unironically a good thing

Um those are so cute!!!!

It's just a bandage on their core problem.

The parks have no where near as many shows as they used to (which would take 1k+ people off the parks for an hour), they replaced all the cafes with seating with Starbucks. They fill the best viewing spots for night shows with paid, low density eating places

Raising the prices has fuck all effect (as a Brit, Disney and Universal Tickets are now more expensive than the flights hotels and hire cars). Universal realize they needed additional gates so built Volcano Bay and Fantastic Worlds. Disney need an additional gate at Orlando and just more shit in general at California Adventure to soak up the crowds.

So you're telling me that either
a) The Vaccine, while protecting my kid from a lethal disease, while keeping them alive, will prevent them from having kids
or
b) The disease kills my kid and thus prevent my kid from having kids.

hmmmmmmm..... Since all choices prevents the existence of grand children, I'll pick the one that at least keeps my kid alive.

>Fantastic Worlds
Wait, Universal are making a 3rd park?

Toy Store land in Paris and HK are far worse.

All off-the-shelf rides with insane queues. At least the Slinky Dog coaster is neat in that it's a kiddie launch coaster.

do i get to hug slinky dog at least?

>TokyoDisney doesn't matter
Are you fucking high?

Slowpoke.jpg

Not officially announced but there are so many leaks it's near certain. It's basically Islands of Adventure but with Harry Potter land levels of theming. It's being built on the old Wet and Wild site.

Rumoured lands:

Super Nintendo Land
Ministry of Magic
Dreamworks Land
Universal Classic Monsters

Central hub location where you get to each land (they're apparently all isolated from each other) which is meant to be a more heavily themed City Walk

This is the DLP Slinky Dog ride.

As I said, it's all off the shelf crap with short ride times and massive queues. It was rushed in because Disney Studios opened with something like 6 attractions and was a mega-flop.

Attached: toy-story-play-days-announced-for-disneyland-paris-1.jpg (2000x757, 177K)

>Dreamworks Land
Will Shrek 4D be moved or are they gonna bring over DreamWorks Theatre from Hollywood?

how much more can they milk potter?

>slinky dog
oh no.

oh no.... why would they do this?

DLP gets all the scraps.

The only notable exclusives it has are:

Crush's Coaster (indoor dark spinning coaster)
Space Mountain (vastly different to the other versions, has a launch and inversions, used to have amazing theming before Star Wars ruined it).

Soon it'll have
Avengers Coaster (rock n rollercoaster retheme)
Pym Labs attraction (possibly the Ant Man and Wasp ride but no details given yet)
Doctor Strange attraction (possibly a show).

Would love to see them do an updated version of the HTTYD ride

disneyquest was made in like '99, it only looked low budget 10 years later.

>Millennium Falcon ride
>no Han
>no Chewie
Why though? Are they trying to erase the fact that this is Han's ship? The ST gave it to Rey and Solo retconned it to be originally Lando's, why can't Han have his fucking ship? Does it offend Disney that a white male owns the most iconic ship in the saga?

bumparonie

It takes place between Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, after Han's death.

And? Why is that an excuse to erase all references to him and now pretend the Falcon belongs to some rando?

>Why is that an excuse to erase all references to him and now pretend the Falcon belongs to some rando?
I never said it was

>Solo retconned it to be originally Lando's
That's not a retcon you shitter, they establish that in ESB. We've known it was originally Lando's ship for 39 fucking years.

Do not engage. Even with the first post, the bait is so stale you could see the flies halfway across the globe.

They used Hondo? Honestly I'm a fan of that, love seeing TCW and Rebels characters getting love.

Also, Hondo isn't a Disney character. He existed before the buyout. Do your research first.

>first appeared in a Disney show
>not a Disney character

Attached: hondo rebels.jpg (1280x720, 100K)

He showed up in Clone Wars first.

And that was a Disney cartoon you fucking retard

It aired on Cartoon Network you brainlet

Going to Univeral for the first time in a couple of weeks. I know basically nothing about it, and the first of my two days I'll be with a bunch of people who have also never been. Any good crash course for what to see and do? We're most interested in Harry Potter world, but want to check out the other stuff too. Unfortunately it's right after the new HP coaster opens, so the timing means it's going to be ridiculously crowded I'm sure.

This guy has been trolling the threads for a while. Don't engage and move on.

No it didn't. You're thinking of Genndy's Clone Wars, because you're fucking stupid and can't do a small amount of research. Genndy did Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, then when Disney bought Star Wars they made THE Clone Wars (such creativity from the mouse) and aired it on Disney Channel.

This is all easily found through a Google search you fucking brainlet.

>Disney bought Star Wars
That happened in 2012.
THE Clone Wars began in 2008.
Unless you can convince me of time travel shit, take your buffonery and get away.

im sold

We obey Tim Tracker.

That's really neat. I don't know if I could justify $100 for it, but it's pretty cool with decent variety in style/colors.

Way easier to justify than the lightsabers imo. At least you can play around with these and drive em around if you wanted. And they'd look good on a big enough shelf. But as cool as the lightsaber experience may be I can't remotely justify myself spending 200 dollars for a plastic stick that'll just sit around in a corner somewhere.

Yeah, the lightsabers are a bit disappointing. I wish the blade itself was optional. Given the option, I'd prefer a cheaper handle with the option to buy a blade later. How much variety even is there in saber parts?

Four styles. Each style comes with two options for the pommel, grip, emitter switch, upper part, and emitter. And no mix-matching with the switch halves.

So, just 8 options minus blade color?

Afraid so.

Definitely an experience thing, cause that's the only way to justify (albeit not that well, depending on the person) spending that much money on a glow stick and commemorative pin.

You let this happen Disney World fans.
I don't blame Disney, they're just the machine that grinds and squeezes for profit.
I blame you because you let the machine grind and squeeze you for toys a shitty trinkets such as this. The machine knows it can get away with it. My question is now how far will you let the machine take you for?

starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Clone_Wars_(TV_series)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was a Lucasfilm original series on Cartoon Network starting in 2008.

the Falcon now belongs to Chewie, who is lending it to Hondo so he can smuggle shit for the resistance.

Like how Lando was lended the falcon for ROTJ.

I hate the sequel trilogy as much as anyone but get your facts right.

lol retard

SEETHING

Based

No, it's Rey's.

Chewbaca is a male and Disney will never allow males to be heroes again, the Falcon now belongs to Rey because it's her turn!

As if Star Wars was pure and free from such sin.

Many people point to Lucas selling out for toys, action figures and merchandise, as the start of his decline with star wars. Ewoks were invented to sell plushes. While others have extrapolated on mandelorians to give Fett some meaning, he was designed from scratch simply to be a cool action figure that would sell. It was this obsession with merchandising and selling out is what drove away Gary Kurtz, his partner in the franchise who left halfway through writing Return of The Jedi. He said it all fell apart after Empire. Even the original movie was what it was because of the many people involved reigning in what should have been a disaster and putting their own passions into it.

For all of Disney's grinding as a souless machine, Lucas sold his soul long before he sold star wars. It's only been by the will of fans turned creators joining the franchise that it has had anything worth caring about since Empire.

The machine has already gone much further than what you're seeing now. At least now the franchise is saved by having so many different people responsible.

Honestly the lightsaber building and blue milk are just trying to copy the harry potter wand ceremony and butterbeer at another park. So even there they didn't start the fire.

Hell, Disney has yet to do anything as egregious as Angry Birds Star Wars. Their content hasn't been great, but in terms of pure sellout cashgrab the Angry Birds crossover is still the absolute bottom of the barrel, and that happened on Lucas's watch.

It isn't even just that they had a game crossover, they had a whole merchandising blitz. ABSW toys, ABSW t-shirts, ABSW bed sheets, ABSW soap dispensers, etc. Basically all of the big merch churnout that you usually only see for a movie release. To the surprise of no one, this never caught on and you could still see ABSW shit on clearance for a good 2-3 years afterward.

So, I have reservations for late September to Disney World, should I reschedule now that Galaxy's Edge is having their phase 1 opening in late August?

I don't give a shit about Nu Star Wars, so its not significant to me, but I don't want to battle the huge crowds coming for Galaxy's Edge.

With disney star wars is in the hands of corporate people who have their own fuck ups, but not the same kinds lucas is prone to, and who know how to keep the appearances good for a franchise and protect it.

They also hire people who are really talented and passionate about it. I don't care what anyone says, as bad as last jedi was, the prequels were absolute shit and at the very least whoever was in charge of the visuals for last jedi was a goddamn genius. Also Solo is a massively underrated movie fight me.

It's definitely in better hands with Disney which is rare because you can't really say that about any other franchise. That's just how bad Lucas took things.

>His story in ESB helps develop Leia more than it does Han, who's the same person at the end as he is at the beginning.
YES bro he shouldve been fridged in Empire so that leia could have some easy character growth and been more of a bad ass in return

whos hype?

DFBGuide's was ok

How bad are the crowds end of august/beginning of September, i know most schools start around beginning of august so most of the heavy riff raff has filtered out by than right?

also when does hurricane season typically start?

It's pretty fucking fascinating. I wonder how long it'll last until people catch onto how empty the parks are until it starts to flood with people again.

yeah but nobody wants to and not get into ge

I mean I would go if I was ever in that part of Japan, though the fact there's not going to be any rides kind of just makes it sound like an outdoor version of the Ghibli museum.

Are we expecting the same for Disney World and is it worth it to risk going
I do not care the slightest about getting into IP Wars land. Same with Avatar at Animal Kingdom

Nah, they're still being sold (for $125). There was quite a few people roaming dressed in the jedi robes. There was a cutie patooie dressed as Rey who kept following me around until I realized she was a Rey face character.

I think this was the biggest mistake they could have made all things considered and I’d put money on them changing it in the next 5 years

UK & Brazil swarm the parks as soon as American kids are tucked back in school in Sept. And for some reason August stays as busy as June even if their asses are supposed to be in school.

so she had teeth that could crack open a shellfish

Harry Potter world lets you wear the robes so why wouldnt they let us wear the Jedi robes?

So how big is the lightsabers? I'd rather be able to take in in my luggage than have to get it shipped back home.

Not all vaccines are for fatal diseases.

It was supposed to be done as soon as the 25th anniversary ended but that was over a year ago with no sign of Star Wars disappearing any time soon.

movie quality aside she cute

I hate his chin things

Nah, she wasn't Japanese. Nor was she worth devoting a general on.

She's literally way prettier than the girl in all the new Star Wars movies

Yeah, but it's summer and the weekend, even if you didn't have a reservation, your assume people would just go anyways, like always. Instead, most rides remained walk-ons, and things like Indy rarely exceeded 40 min, and would commonly drop to 25 min.

World is a bigger vacation spot and they're launching with it being open to the public. It'll have the fact that schools will be starting up and it's not the first instance of the land to open to help decrease crowds though. My personal guess is it'll still be a mess, but after this weekend, who knows. That said, even if it is a mess, it'll be focused at Galaxy's Edge. It might not be the worst time if you want to try and hit anything else World has.

Thank god. I thought I was the only one who figured Rey was a cute but weird person playing dress up at first. I didn't realize she was a legitimate character until I saw her staff, which Disney obviously wouldn't let anybody in with.

Solo is really good.

Lately I've heard complaints from friends that Disney CEO said he'd boycott pro lifers. I'm not sure why he'd say that since many of the park customers are Conservative families.

>he doesn't know about the mandatory penis inspections

based and self-destructpilled

Because the majority of the US aren’t bible thumping super conservatives that want to make abortion illegal. Most people in the US want it to stay legal.

I saw people on twitter had the issue of not realing it was actually her

>when the main character of your new trilogy gets ignored by the rabid opening day fans
yikes

Yeah, didn't occur to me until the tail end of my period when I got off the falcon and saw her and Chewie walking together towards the spaceport area.

No stormtroopers though, though that could be because I went in during the final period of the day.

>The only two people who approched her were fat dad bods
what did Disney mean by this?

>having a mindset in-line with your main moneymakers and the majority of the country is “virtue signaling”
>having any values that aren’t pure far right conservative is virtue signaling

Lmao

Nah. The prequels had great world building in terms of new planets and aliens. The Disney films have overall been shit when it comes to planets being anything but shittier blander versions of OT planets and aliens that aren’t unremarkable gray blobs. Lucas just needed more assertive and competent writers/producers to reign him in. The movies need writing on the level of the ST and Lucas’s creative mind for visuals and world building and they’d have been fine. Clone Wars S2 and on was great and Lucas was heavily involved in episode. He just needed Filoni to actually tell the story.

They had great world building but were terrible movies in every way. Saying he "just needed better writers" doesn't make up for how bafflingly bad the movies were, because yes, that's the problem, they were badly written, badly edited, poorly thought out, and he needed people to tell him no or fix his mistakes. World building doesn't even come close to making up for that.

Here's the thing about the new trilogy though, you're right about the unoriginal planets and aliens, but only for Force Awakens, which despite that was an alright movie. It was not original in any way and was only good in "returning the series back to form" while still being a good and well paced movie.

Last Jedi though, bad movie, lots of problems with the plot, but at least not as poorly paced as the prequels. However that aside it had very original aliens, planets, and settings. Overall it was much better in terms of world building and design. It was just a badly written story. There's so much more worse with the prequels.

Then, new trilogy aside, the stand alone movies were both good. The only reason Solo wasn't better received was because Last Jedi had people burnt out on star wars.

Disney messed the trilogy but their standalones and animated shows are fine.

>outdoor Ghibli Museum
Sounds amazing, desu.

They're a little odd but it was basically their way of giving him a beard even though he has no facial hair. They're much shorter in TCW when he's a bit younger. Apparently his species has to regularly file those down.

The pro-life movement is the epitome of virtue signaling.

This remains the oddest theme park thread yet
Notably that it isn't really one

I love Jenny but I think she's friends with Contrapoints and I can't abide someone who turns a blind eye to genocide

No

Ever been to a Ren Faire?

>who turns a blind eye to genocide
Explain

>YT recommends contrapoints
>I guess I'll give it a shot
>Click "are gays traps?" vid
>Video is all about 'Do you really want a kid asking google and finding a nazi website telling them that they are gay"

And that's ignoring the parts where he goes 'look at me im really a grilll allow me to over react did I forget to tell you I'm a failed PhD Stu- I don't mean failed, I mean used to be a PhD student so I'm an authority in all things'

Attached: rdj.jpg (454x418, 33K)

shut up fundie

I've seen a lot of videos from the 'big' Disney vloggers now, and it seems like everyone is kind of disappointed with Galaxy's Edge.

The food is ehhhhh, the drinks at the cantina are too sweet, the popcorn and blue milk are awful, the droids are very plastic, the lightsabers aren't all that customizable, and everything is jaw-droppingly expensive.

There's only one ride atm and it's not very good unless you're the pilot.

The interactive game looks quite fun, but it seems like most people aren't really delving into it. I think the four hour time limit has something to do with that - people are focused on getting through the lightsaber workshop and smuggler's run, and getting into the cantina, so they aren't bothering with what was supposed to be the most unique aspect of the place.

Here you big baby, this is the answer you're looking for

Attached: watchmen debate.jpg (1261x3193, 887K)

Contrapoints is a tankie communist. In order to be a commie you've gotta ignore all the systemic murder and exterminations they've carried out.

>The food is ehhhhh, the drinks at the cantina are too sweet, the popcorn and blue milk are awful, the droids are very plastic, the lightsabers aren't all that customizable, and everything is jaw-droppingly expensive.
>People shelled out hard cash to be there on day one
>For Happy Meal tier Androids, Lightsabers and food

oh no
oh no.......

Attached: mikey boi.jpg (592x328, 24K)

You might call me a big baby, but that image you posted gave a harder, more rigorous argument in a much shorter time span on the debate then contrapoints did

The Falcon ride really does need some retooling. I like the idea of a ride where different people have different roles and thus different experiences, but that works better on a larger ship where everyone actually gets their own station. The concept doesn't work in the Falcon's cockpit, where there's flight consoles for the pilots but the other roles take a literal backseat and have to keep looking towards something off to the side and basically missing the actual ride experience.

Maybe the ride would work better if you just had pilots and gunners, and the gunners actually have stations like in the movie. Have some kind of video link between the cockpit and the gunning station so that you can still have the experience of working with someone. This way the gunner also gets to take a more hands-on approach instead of just pressing a flashing button when prompted.

Explain without buzzwords

>Watch her video on centrism or whatever
>one character is literally "I AM SILLY" while literally dressed as a Nazi
>The other is very calm and collected and enlightened leftist
>statements like "white people can suffer effects of racism" and "leftists are guilty of censorship" are literally equated with "gas the kikes"
>comments are everyone applauding her for being so evenhanded and fair to both sides
I honestly can't understand how anyone can tolerate Contrapoints. I honestly think it's just people who are afraid of being labeled a bigot for disagreeing with a trans.

You just know she takes the costume home for kinky roleplaying

Contrapoints is a person who looks at a political ideology that to this day is soaked in blood and says "yep this is the only moral choice and anyone who disagrees is literally a nazi".

>that fun little moment when you find yourself the pilot on your first trip as well as the only one in the cockpit.

I had fun with the datapad thing, but jesus fuck the app is such a battery drain. I do agree with you, though, that you can only do so much with it if you're waiting to do other more time-consuming things.

>In order to be a commie you've gotta ignore all the systemic murder and exterminations they've carried out.
Doesn't this apply to basically any political ideology, though?

Imagine a ride based on this concept with the Enterprise.

Is there a park which could conceivably have a Star Trek theme? I'm not sure which media monopoly giant the property falls under.

Didn't Paramount have a park at some point?

That would get her fired, user.

Any ideology where one of the major tenets involves secret police, yeah

There was the Las Vegas experience, I got to go when I was a kid and walk around a mock up of the Enterprise -D, also the teleporter effects was jus the room suddenly going dark and a bunch of jet fans blasting the room

>Imagine a ride based on this concept with the Enterprise.
That'd be perfect. The Enterprise is exactly the kind of ship that a concept like this calls for.

There was the Star Trek experience in Vegas I think

No Hoth Base, Jabba's palace, Dantooine, Mos Eisley Sand Crawlers. Nothing.

Just the most lifeless "Star Wars" setting I've ever seen.

Fuck Disney.

Besides the thing that used to be in Las Vegas?

They had a couple. Kings Dominion was one before it got bought out by the same folks who own Knott's Berry Farm.

i would leik one secret police plz

Attached: phoner.jpg (657x527, 37K)

They did, Six flags and Carowinds but they gave up on that.

>Didny opts for the original experience because they don't want to resort to the lowest common denominator of having people remember things
>Turns out people would much rather remember things than try something original

And that's why both sides of this thing are hilariously stupid.

Who the fuck would want to go to Dantooine

People hoping to relive the KOTOR experience?
Know-nothing Imperials looking for a rebel base?

Jabba's Palace would be fun to visit. Hoth would be boring for a theme park land, Dantooine has fuck all, the sandcrawler might be neat.

Well, there's an abandoned rebel base there....

>People hoping to relive the KOTOR experience?
user how many people in the general public do you think that is?

w...will disney let me buy slave girls?

>Come to Disneyland for STAR WARS: SURVEY OF DANTOOINE!
>explore the abandoned rebel base!
>see authentic empty crates and life-like signs of recent use!
>BUT LOOK THE REBELS CARELESSLY LEFT THEIR GIFT SHOP AT THE END!

Adults-only Nar Shaddaa park when

More than you think judging by the amount of day to day bitching about it compared to what's out now, though it does seem to look like the goalpost is a little too close. Perhaps it needs to be moved.

KOTOR is one of the highest-selling games of all time, you're retarded if you think the general public wouldn't be excited about reliving locations from the game.

>people on the internet bitching
>representative of anything in reality
don't let twitter get to your head genius, the average theme park goer doesn't give a rat fuck about KOTOR

Attached: 1399918841718.jpg (385x466, 38K)

>People still come and stand in line for the authentic empty crates

So by that logic, your own own biased rhetoric on the current state of affairs means just as little. Good to know.

Yes I'm sure Doug McNormie and his entire clan are going to be excited about KOTOR land

>N-NO U
delusional faggot

what happens if I stay past 4 hours?

public execution

It would be extremely painful

We need a new plague

I like the design and colors they offer for the BB more, if the R units were bigger I'd say go with that

A cast member dressed as Hondo, in full prosthetic makeup, comes out, announces your name, pulls down your pants, and then leaves.

Now your training is Complete.

Attached: HUMILITY.jpg (200x252, 12K)

You'll be asked to leave and it will incredibly awkward for everyone involved

>$200 for a lightsaber
>$150 for robes
>$100 for a droid
>Can't use any of it in the park

I get Disney's dress policy but this is fucking ridiculous, you don't see Universal forcing this shit on people at Wizarding World

Build A Bot Workshop seems pretty cool. I'm seriously thinking about dropping the money next time I visit. But for $100+, I'd expect something that's closer to a Furby than an RC car. It will be interesting to see if hackers/modders do anything with these droids

Apparently there's droid interactivity throughout the park but I haven't seen anyone show it off yet

I thought you couldn't bring outside costumes, but could wear any of what you bought there. Also this is the first I've heard that you can't have your lightsaber or droid in the park.

I hope they have plenty of staff that speak Mandarin, then.

They really need to find a way to not have everyone in the cockpit. Give the gunners and engineers their own stations or something instead of cramming everyone into one space and having to multitask between several different screens

Disney really underestimated how popular the cantina would be, hopefully won't be as much of a shitshow in florida since they already serve beer in the park

I've heard blue/green milk isn't terrible but it's $8 for a 16 oz drink and that's highway fucking robbery, even for disney

Is it true about the two-drink maximum

Attached: dok-ondar.jpg (500x704, 46K)

The lightsaber thing is to part of the whole framing device of the park that the first order are looking for jedi, it's why they never say "lightsaber" or "jedi" outdoors. They give you a nice carrying case for the lightsaber but tell you not to use it outside.

The droid thing seems like it should be common sense thing instead of actually being enforced, since no one wants to lose the $100 plastic build a bear they just bought

Disney has always had a strict dress code that no one over 14/taller than staff members can wear the same/similar clothing
I've heard Disney is thinking about being a bit more lenient about that with galaxy's edge since people are already complaining but who knows what they'll decide

playing a couple canned actions when it detects a certain bluetooth signal is neat, but most of it is locked to the park itself. Also, it's 2019. For 10-20 bucks, they could add in an arduino and 2 or 3 more sensors, so they actually feel and act like an interactive freind/pet

no clue, just heard it's an hour wait at best to even get into the cantina

Seems to be pretty consistent. 2 drinks maximum, 45 minute time limit, you can't pick your seats, and most of it is standing room anyway.

I've seen the bloggers show the personality chips and everything - first order, resistance and smuggler - but I haven't seen anyone actually demo it either
It's supposed to be tied to certain areas of the park - a first order droid would make angry sounds when near the resistance area, a smuggler droid would make happy sounds near the falcon, etc

>tfw one of only 2 who voted Ioa as best park

Attached: stu2.jpg (175x184, 5K)

>a first order droid would make angry sounds when near the resistance area

God dammit that's fucking adorable

WHY WOULD ANY DIPSHIT GO TO THIS THING BEFORE THE DARK RIDE COMES OUT

FUCK

They had a really cool one in Orlando but it shut down. They didn't advertise it properly.

youtu.be/LulQBf4kLnk

disney apparently started doing a text to return system today since the wait times started getting out of hand

Disneyland is shit compared to WDW anyway. thanks for beta testing though

...

If there are, I didn't see any

Last time I was there the only person I remembered sounding british was the train conductor they have for photo ops

Are the build your own droids just shitty r2d2 clones?

I see some articles ranging from “there will definitely be rides” to “there will be no rides in the ‘traditional’ sense.” So I guess there’s gonna be some kind of attractions resembling rides, just not probably the typical big mechanical dark rides that require them to construct new buildings. Maybe.

I dunno, a nice nature walk with some ghibli sculptures and playgrounds between a few atmospheric gift shops and food stalls sounds good enough to me. They’ve already got the reconstruction of the house from My Neighbor Totoro built, and that seems neat all on its own.

You can have a shitty plastic R2D2 or a shitty plastic BB8

I want a fucking Dooku saber and they are not even selling it. They got random background face sabers from Clone Wars and Rebels, even the damn temple guard sabers. But no Dooku.

You mean it's not a REAL ROBOT?

Attached: 1511875419251.png (500x500, 170K)

>literally me at this moment

But anons, it comes in your choice of any one of three or four unique colors(unless you can't find the one you want, fuck you, deal with it)

You're being laughed at

>what is sarcasm

>The interactive game looks quite fun, but it seems like most people aren't really delving into it. I think the four hour time limit has something to do with that - people are focused on getting through the lightsaber workshop and smuggler's run, and getting into the cantina, so they aren't bothering with what was supposed to be the most unique aspect of the place.

Look Disney I am fully prepared to pretend I'm in Star Wars but you gotta let me dress up so the dissociation can be complete.

THE FUCK YOU SAY ABOUT ME YOU LITTLE SHIT???

Attached: power stressed.png (640x480, 261K)

We deal with this phenomenon all the fucking time at my attraction.
Days we expect to be super crazy busy due to holidays or the like rarely are what we expect, and some other day near that day is absolute insanity.
The only logical thought process me and my managers have figured out is people think it's going to be busy because ______ reason, and think "I'll go Tuesday. Tuesday will be calm."
But when everyone thinks that, Tuesday becomes unbelievably busy.

this thread just prompted me to buy half off tickets at busch gardens VA. fuck you disney fags

In one of the DIS preview vlogs they interviewed a cast member who said you were basically supposed to get into character by going to the market, getting some robes, maybe adopting a pet or building a droid, and then going to build a lightsaber and clipping it to your belt with an accessory you could also buy on-property.

It made sense to me from both perspectives (immersive experience for guests, endless cash grabs for the park) so I'm confused that they don't seem to actually want you to do this now.

When were the preview vlogs from? Sounds like Disney dropped the ball on this one. I seem to remember the immersion/interactive stuff being hyped as hell but it seems to have dropped off on the end of the guests. There's still the stuff in place for the cast members (no lines, just 'organic' interaction) but the parks themselves haven't really explained to guests what you're supposed to do.

Well they were excited enough about a land based on a planet that previously didn't exist in the Star Wars Universe. It's all about the marketing.

youtube.com/watch?v=kcMphYIovLA

Found the one I was talking about, it's from May 30th

intupod.com/blog/star-wars-filming-locations-in-ireland/

Huh. So what has happened here...

>14 inches tall
Dropped.

I combed high and low for a sabacc deck, but they were sold out.

security measures were instated

I ma happy to share my pain

Bigger one available at BBTS for a bit less

Does it have an FX chip. For on off motion idle and contact sounds? Can I remove the blade and just mount the hilt on a belt?

Imagine writing a post this "woke" over a fucking toy laser sword

Attached: 1443543114815.jpg (596x800, 52K)

1. FX chip confirmed. Noise depends on the kyber crystal put inside. I've confirmed different effects for motion and idle, but have yet to test it out for contact.
2. The blade is removable, and so is the kyber crystal. You can purchase the belt clip over at Dok Ondars (right next to the workshop) along with additional kyber crystals that can be swapped in/out. The workshop lets you choose from red, blue, green, and violet; the workshop also sells additional colors either standalone (white, yellow) or via a mystery reward like the pins (apparently, one of the mystery crystals is obsidian color).

>additional colors
Meant to say Dok Ondar's for the white/yellow/mystery stuff. My bad.

>no obvious signage
>need to learn a bunch of autistic lingo to ask cast members genuinely important questions because they won't break character

So all of that is acceptable, but wearing merch bought on-property is not?

Busch Gardens was winning for a while. Now I think it's equal to MK.

They weren't excited about Batuu. Batuu is barely even in the marketing. People are excited for Star Wars Land. If they made it Dantooine it wouldn't make any difference because nobody is going specifically because of what planet it's representing. You're not going to get twice the turnout specifically because it's Dantooine instead of an OC location.

>need to learn a bunch of autistic lingo to ask cast members genuinely important questions because they won't break character

wut

youtube.com/watch?v=eAQVvxcsDmU

So imagine someone's kid ran off to the lightsaber workshop and their parents are frantically looking for them, and every cast member they ask shrugs and spouts some bullshit about scrap metal. How is that any safer than having non-cast members in costumes?

Have some kind of exclusive cast member accessory like a badge or an armband or something to set them apart from visitors if it's that much of an issue.

It's nice that you can get additional colours. I was worried we were stuck with just the four.

Do you know anything else about the mystery rewards?

>tfw no Stitch cameos
>tfw no GotG or Avatar or Aliens crossovers

What is the point of owning all these IPs if you can't add autistic crossovers to your autistic LARP-land?

>You can now get boozed up at Disneyland
What a time to be alive

What the hell is this, I like it

Yes.

I think most Disney bloggers/historians agree the original version of Journey into Imagination with the Dreamfinder is way better then the two other versions that replaced it, especially when it came to the first crappy reboot.

It's just a tribute to that "Saturn Devouring His Son" painting.

Disney is balls-to-the-wall anal when it comes to maintaining immersion throughout the parks, it's why the only park-related crossovers you see are usually in merchandise involving Mickey/Donald/Goofy/etc. and, on increasingly rare occasions, Stitch. It's one of the reasons why I want to see a Kingdom Hearts-themed event based around the Heartless infiltrating the parks but I can also see Disney not doing based on logistics alone.

Attached: 1547960634311.gif (500x323, 983K)

we've got the best big thunder tho, and a really good version of Phantom Manor

>much cuter than the actual actress
damn Disney you got me now

The ark from raiders is there somewhere

It's on the upper level of Dok-Ondar's. That's more of an easter egg than a crossover though.

Walt literally rolling in his grave

I think he was already rolling when Epcot became nothing like what he originally wanted. Plus you could get booze there for ages already.

Walt is rolling in his grave because Disney CEOs keep tarnishing his name.

Man was a true visionary, he wanted to bring good into the world. Now his name is synonymous with underhanded business practices.

>the blade is removable
fuck now I want it

>jews in charge of his company
he was rolling since then and hasn't stopped since, he probably liked the Disney renaissance movies tho

>Poe shot Finn's stormtrooper friend at the beginning of TFA. More missed potential!

I don't think Finn was actually that guy's friend. Finn was consistently a "cut and run" type of guy throughout the whole first movie. He also had no hesitation about shooting pursuers when fleeing in the TIE. Finn was a sanitation guy, and I think that mission was his first time out in the field and the dude dying was Finn realizing "holy shit, I might die out here."

Oh no, he was very much Finn's friend.

starwars.fandom.com/wiki/FN-2003

Still not really convinced they were "friends". It says Finn was his leader and rescued him a lot, some times against orders, but they don't really seem friendly.

>Hagrid coaster is shit
>Galaxys Edge is shit
JUST

is there an ETA for that opening?

"fall"

I hope you have a fun time.

Hope you're either rich or only planning on buying a single drink since the starting price for one is $15

The hagrid coaster looks Kino and I've never even seen a single hp movie

>Superliminal?
>Watch. HEY YOU! JOIN THE NAVY!

Only known mystery one right now is a "black" "obsidian" crystal, it can only be found in red crystal containers, and the containers are semi-transparent so technically you could shine a light through and know if you're getting a red or black one. I say "black", because a few of the pictures I've seen of it in really bright lighting show it's more of just a really dark blue. Functionally, in a lightsaber, it works the similarly as red crystals - produces a red blade, uses the same sounds when you swing it, but as a darker, more crackly sound when you first pop it into your saber. When you put it in a sith holocron, it's got lines from Snoke. It's assumed he's the only character tied to the black crystals.

Is the Hagrid coaster open yet? I wanna see what the fuck they've done to Jurassic Park in Hollywood too.

I'm not seeing Knott's Berry Farm in there.

shouldn't you be selling jams and jellies by the interstate?

Too much competition among the homeless as it is.

fuk, meant to reply to

Safety is paramount. Cast knows when to drop show and speak plainly when it’s a safety critical scenario.

No, Disneyland is Duckau.

Sounds like they copied universal desu

As worn out as I am over Disney Wars, I admittedly got a warm feeling in my heart imagining a kid's face when the droid is being "programmed," knowing he's going to go home with his own Star Wars droid. I'd pay $100 to see my kid that happy. No amount of joy in my child will make me forgive them for TLJ, though.

>Be me
>Hollywood Studios in like 2015 or whatever
>some kind of Frozen thing is going on, so Star Tours is dead
>Ride it over and over and over
>End up in a speeder with a young couple and their tiny kid
>Couldn't have been older than 5
>Kid is just entranced from the moment 3-P0 shows up
>He's the rebel spy
>Get a transmission from Yoda
>"Mmmm, carry one loyal to our cause you do. Deliver him you must."
>Kid goes "OKAY YODA!"
>Almost start bawling
Imagine being 5 and fucking Yoda tells you you're vital to the survival of the rebellion. There's lots of cynical shit in these parks but that magic is real.

So is there any word on what the Droid interactivity actually is? I've seen people assembling their droids, but zero videos on what they actually do.

I think it kinda just does chirps and head-turns to seem like it's reacting. not sure what else it even can do

R unit for me. The size doesn't bother me that much. I just love the idea of a custom colored droid that will interact with the land alongside you. I've always wanted a droid sidekick.

star tours is underrated

Attached: star tours cosplay.jpg (800x1200, 153K)

It's a pretty basic RC droid. Controls to make it move forward or backward, rotate left or right, spin its head left or right, or make it produce sounds. I've seen that the controllers have buttons to "activate accessories" (presumably it'll make different sound effects or cause lights to blink for the serving tray/blasters/boosters) but I haven't seen anyone test it yet. It's possible the droids don't interact with each other though - I've seen two reviews so far with people with two droids, and they haven't had anything happen, and the instruction manual only says: "Droid Beconing: This droid will interact along its journey through black spire outpost," so it might just that it interacts with areas in the park.

Also, it seems like the chips will change the tone of the beeps it does. Not enough have tested it enough to see if it's based on the color of the chip you buy, or just the chip's affiliation.

Each faction has two colors of chips and in two separate videos I saw Resistance-aligned droids with two distinct sounding beeps. So I'd assume the exact tone is based on color.

>I've seen two reviews so far with people with two droids, and they haven't had anything happen
Same. I wonder if the first batch might have some faulty bluetooth hardware. Could just be that some Disny Finacigeer cut corners, and made the antennas too shoort to actually detect each other. I'm really interested to see some teardown videos, but I know it will probably be a week or two before anyone gets a chance

or they just dont have that feature and it was all marketing hype

I've heard people in comments sections on videos say that interaction does happen but you have to give it a few minutes.
