That there's no exact analogies is what makes the film palatable and nuanced. This is why the single most important bigoted character, the police chief, is an African animal voiced by a black man and the most prominent victim of prejudice, Nick, is a European animal voiced by a white man.

Direct analogies would inevitably result in a "whites are bad" movie which would have been tedious. We might have been spared this by the nixing of the edge-master version of the story with the shock-collars.

Nah, you see the real discrimination in the movie was smaller mammals vs bigger ones. The characters we see face prejudice are smaller animals such as bunnies, foxes and sheep as opposed to the larger animals we see in power such as the mayor or the chief of police.

Shakira made the film slightly worse. The character she played isn't actually a character since setting aside being mentioned nearly constantly she actually appears only once and only to deliver a heavy-handed monologue to no one in particular. She has no interaction with any of the actual characters.

The Mobsters part was incredible, for a movie centeres on peacr and love and urban utopia it is interesting that they used the most basic and cliched stereotype of Italian Americans to portray organized crime.

The mayor covers up the the crazy-predator thing explicitly because he is worried about being blamed because he too is a predator, though.

Birth Control, Abortion, and socially engineered alternative lifestyles.

Use of European stereotypes aren't punished so they stick around.
