He's not actually radioactive, you know. At least, not any more so than say Banner or Peter are.

>not actually radioactive
>Peter Parker
umm.. Peteys jizz is hella radioactive. It gives cancer dawg

And I want to give him a big hug.

Only in one non-canon story.

Honestly, I feel like making Larry gay was an interesting take. Larry was kind of boring in the comics

how can we know it's non-canon? I sure don't have future sight

Second worst main character desu
Not because he's gay, I couldn't care less, but rather just because everyone else was so much more interesting.

Hes ironically a good straight man.

bump

be happy thats hes jsut gay if they where gonna go by the comics he would have probs been a legit fucking tranny

Rita>Cliff>Larry>Cyborg>Jane

I'm not really sure why Cyborg was there

He’s there to attract Teen Titans fans. It’s like Batman and the Outsiders. The rest of the Outsiders are all C to D list characters most people don’t care about, but if Batman is in the book then people will wanna read it. Same with Cyborg. Doom Patrol isn’t that popular outside of the Vertigo or obscure comic fans, so throw in a character that was in a movie or has been in popular cartoons and comics, and you might attract some fans.

The Negative Spirit is kind of an asshole, trying to fuck Larry and drag him out of the closet.
Feel bad for Larry's kids. Shit, they must be in their 60s now or something, that's surreal.
Danny the Street is an interesting concept that lost its appeal after the first episode.
Rita and Cliffe are carrying the show.
Real tired of Jane's tsundere bullshit

Cyborg got better as time went on.

Rite>Cliff>Cyborg>Jane=Larry

I agree Cyborg's existence at all is forced

>Looks almost identical to Hush

BRAVO DC

Attached: Hush.png (419x540, 329K)

im so sick of gay characters

Who's the 1st worst?

What? Yes he is. The bandages aren't just to cover his scars, they're treated with a formula that keeps his radiation from leaking out.

there are 64 characters that are the absolute worst

>Honestly, I feel like making Larry gay was an interesting take. Larry was kind of boring in the comics
What makes a character being gay "interesting" to you? Is this your first time seeing a gay character on screen?

The more I think about this post the more irrationally pissed off I become. He sleeps in a fucking lead-lined room with a decontamination airlock, you fucking moron. He's NOT acTuAllY RADioACtIve, yOu KNOW. You absolute fucking buffoon.

fucking zoomers

Negative Man was earlier. And, no, Hush's look was based on one of Two-Face's post-surgery designs.

It was interesting in the context of his character being an All-american military man in the 50s, and how him being gay wasn't something he could even contemplate being open about. It played off well against his "don't get involved" and "keep your distance" personality, and led to a satisfying arc where the negative spirit made him confront both the inner contradictions that he was living with, and the people he had hurt

There's nothing with the precise impact that being gay, in the military, in the 50s, would have had, where it's something that you absolutely need to hide because it wasn't just socially odd, you'd probably get fired and beat

>AND HE IS GAAAAAYYYYY
Why would the producers do this? Now 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of viewers will loathe him and want him brutally murdered.

Rita > Cliff (when he's sad or contemplative) > Chief > Cyborg == Larry > Penny > Mr. Nobody > Cliff (when he's just way too enthusiastic about stuff) > Jane == hammerhead

I really like this new renaissance of gay characters. It used to only be trashy drag queen types and now it’s actual real people.

Best scene for each character?

Cliff:
>I'm not a man
>I used to be
>I was a different person then ...
>... a lesser person

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 14K)

Nah. Only Hammerhead and Jane are the Worst. It sucks ass that we spend so much time with them.

This post is trash.

The point is that he's a coward, to afraid to actually commit to anything and using his career to justify running away from making a desition.

You do know doom patrol is older right?

The Hulk sometimes expel radiation everywhere

triggered faggot

Stand user?

Eh, considering his faggot boyfriend died, he hates the fact he is gay, he still managed to have children who were taken away from him (saving them from homosex) and most importantly he is in a condition where he will never have a relationship again, it doesn’t really matter much

Yeah. Gay men dont get the free pass lesbians get.

Bet those words hit Brendan somewhere in his mummy heart.

I get that Rebis was supposed to be a pretentious asshat, but that doesn't mean I had to like him. I'm not Cliff. So Larry, but gay, was a good change of pace even if he was incapable of going to the weirder places that Rebis could.

In a way, yeah he is

gay men are sexy as fuck, I'll allow it.

>big coat and bandages covering his body
>not invisible
You had one job

Is he a metaphor for AIDS?

Grant just stole the Invisible Man aesthetic by giving Negative Man/Rebis glasses. He's so transparent about it that one of his DP covers was just a filtered photo from the old Invisible Man film.

Jokes on you, since 99% of DC fan content now is based around him.

I just red Morrison's Doom Patrol run guys. It was great.

I feel like i respect Ellis less now. Like his Stormwatch arc was just the Brotherhood of Dada 2.0/Niles nanomachines fused together. And I used to like it so much, with Bendix betrayal and everything.

It just feels weird and empty bros

I love the raw energy of the run. Later Morrison stuff slows things down considerably to philosophise albeit in a well-written manner. But there's beauty in madcap full force as well.

Morrison’s Doom Patrol was so great that I feel empty now that we’ll never get any more. At least we have Gerard’s run, he’s more or less a tiny Morrison

i really liked his summary in the last issue. Forces of authority and father figures are something the creative types will always struggle with in their lives. Felt more meta than rest of his stuff in the run.
And the ending was beautiful.

I didn't know it was a Smiths reference:

It gave him a new conflict with him being in the closet and hung up on his lover for so long. It's something new for him to do.

The scene where he finally talks to John on his deathbed after 50 years is fantastic and one of the best parts of the show.

>At least we have Gerard’s run

Eh, the delays made a dog's breakfast out of it and the exposition explaining all the strangeness at the end so we could move along to Milk Wars was painfully executed. It had its moments though. I won't deny that.

we all know that the actual finale will include it

Attached: DP63.jpg (960x621, 127K)

>Gerard's run ended with Mr. Nobody selling out to big corporate

That was hilarious. And oddly prescient given the gimped try-hard live-action Mr. Nobody we got in the show.

This. Larry is not as good as Cliff or Rita, but he's nowhere near bad in the show. The final scene with John or the one in the Cabaret were great.

>And oddly prescient given the gimped try-hard live-action Mr. Nobody we got in the show.
i think his imprisonment in the painitng with Beard Hunter will change him to the more absurd Nobody we know and love. I also really liked Alan Tudyk's performance, he was great, even if he wasn't the classic Nobody. He might have been gay for Niles in the show - remember how he asks "who's the nobody now"? The line was delivered to the Chief, not to his ex - girlfriend.

>I also really liked Alan Tudyk's performance, he was great, even if he wasn't the classic Nobody.

It was lazy how he was in human form most of the time. I know we hated his redesigned monster form, but it showed how little confidence the creators had in it what with its lack of use.

I consider this scene to be the best part of the show.

Is this Reboot: The Guardian Code?

>what are fujos

don't really know that show. Why, you don't like that scene?

>Peteys jizz is hella radioactive. It gives cancer dawg
That was in one non-canon story! Hell, there's a lot more of alternative reality comics where Spidey has kids and MJ's still around! Take Spider-Girl for example or Renew your vows!
