I can and I love it. But in the first season the writing just wasn't good enough to keep an adult engaged. In a well written should I could watch an entire season of "filler", but it is just too kiddish a show for that (from what I've seen in season one)

But looking Raps suffering is quite joyful to watch

I skipped a lot of both season 1 and 2 the first time, then went back to watch them after destinies collide. It was fun, actually. Like looking through a book of memories that included happier times.

Even those so-called filler episodes, some of them involve foreshadowing and key character developments related to the plotline so I still suggest to watch all the episodes in order.

A few things of note about this show
-the characters feel very well rounded, they all feel like actual people and any romance issues don't feel made up
-i like when Cassandra wears her handmaiden outfit. just shows how capable she is. She fights but she is also capable in regards to kingdom shit hope the outfit shows up

The village is called Old Corona but historical borders, such as the land that used to be Saporia, is entirely conjecture. We've seen from shots on top of the wall that the lands immediately outside of it are inhabited, but whether they are in the domain of the kingdom or not, there's no saying

It's arguable that should Raps take the responsibility of Cass' betrayal and Cass obviously has her own problems also. There is not only one time Cass attempted to conceal her feelings or plans from Raps. Sometimes she may be reasonable to do this, but her insecurity of trust issue on Raps and jealousy against Adira taking over her guard duty affected her judgements. You can see Cass had lots of quotes about "trust me Raps" in both seasons and her lyrics "Prove they can trust me" in Ready as I'll ever be song. Those showed that she is anxious of not being trusted.

We still don't know what happened in the house to let her decide to grab the moonstone. Probably she has a heroic reason but she's reluctant to tell anyone or her just got brainwashed to be convinced it's her destiny.

It's interesting that both times she uses the Decay Spell, it quickly seems to get out of hand. She needs outside intervention to stop herself both times she uses it, first from Adira and then from the shock of Cassandra's pain. Maybe this is a reflection of the fact that she really is the Sundrop, deep down, and so the Moonstone is a foreign power to her. She's taken on some of its aspects but it's not really HER power, and so she can't finely control it.

I still pull up the island episodes for the handful of really good scenes, just skip right to them and ignore the rest. So many cute and funny character moments.

They love it though, she would make them love it. After decades as Rapunzel’s prized toys they forget who they were before, only know the infinite will of the sun and moon drop.

Maybe if it was done once, but she switches back and forth multiple times like the incantation was a phone call and Cass was mildly inconveniencing her like some whiny child or puppy. The scene just felt odd to me.

To be fair, that's better than most shows could ask for. I'd say all of the episodes are worth a watch at least once since they're just all enjoyable in their own way (Aside from most of the island arc, but that seems to vary from person to person.)
It just really sticks out like a sore thumb in S2 is the issue. In S1 they have an excuse to stay in Corona for so long since, you know, they live there. But in S2, despite it being a road trip, they seem oddly stationary in a lot of the locations they visit so those episodes feel like more of a waste of time than they actually are. It doesn't help the island arc could not be a more contrived excuse to just get the characters on an island for merch- er, I mean wacky shenanigans just because. S2's pacing doesn't really get consistent until Great Tree onward where it's super smooth sailing.
I'm hoping S3's pacing is a lot more consistent considering the stakes are insanely higher now, so it's gonna be harder to justify episodes where little of consequence really happens.

The issue is that for season 2 they planned to visit one different location each episode, but Chris mentioned in an interview that the Mouse didn't like the idea as they would need to hire more people to draw each of the locations. With their limited budget, they were forced to spend 3 episodes at least in every spot to meet the deadlines and costs. Sad but that's how capitalism works.

I think his issue was that he was too foreign to the plot to really make you want to watch him. He was the only one in the group that had no link or stakes in the trip.

Rapunzel was obviously after her destiny and Eugene had to come along as her lover. Cassandra was there to protect her due to their friendship and had the most development out of the cast during the trip. Lance is Eugene's friend and muscle so he had to come along. Pascal is Rapunzel's best buddy so he also came along to help her, and Shorty was there to provide comic relief in all tense moments along with some much needed chaos.

Hookfoot was on the level of Max and Fidella in that he had no stake and no reason to travel with them. If he had been linked to the plot, I think it would have helped him a lot. I yawned whenever I realized it was a Hookfoot episode because I knew it was going to be filler centered around him and whatever happened, wouldn't impact the rest of the plot at all.

I think even Maximus had more of a stake due to his justice boner. And I enjoyed the Eugene and Max in the peril seas or whatever it's called because Max got a neat personality.
