None of the executives could figure out a way to take credit for it.
donno. damn shame though, love the art work for it.
too high animation quality. the shorts probably cost more than a whole season of most shows
why is it that japanese people can make decent animation without bitching about price, but westerners can't?
Also, Voltron was made with about similiar levels of quality.
just the way the studios work here and there I guess. might also be there are just more people in japan that want to do animation so the industry is flooded with people who can and want to do it. idk, im sure you can find lots of info somewhere as to why its so cheap by comparison.
1. asians are willing to work like slaves
2. american executives skim 90% off the top. otherwise animation would have become TREMENDOUSLY cheaper when it went digital and the majority of the process could be slimmed down to nothing (think about how much work it was laboriously, slowly hand-painting each cel and carefully placing each one on the camera, 24 times per filmed SECOND vs just uploading image files)
Because the Japanese will sacrifice everything, including their lives, for their work. That and the individual is valued far less than the company so anyone under the boss man is more than happy to die for his orders than leave and hold onto the dream that they get to make their vision.
That culture is slowly turning around though. Animators are less and less willing to die for Generic Moe SoL#456892 and it's ever decreasing profit margins than they were before.
This also.
>2. american executives skim 90% off the top
So basically Capitalism and the 1%.
well no, it's an inherently communist thing to do. To think your system doesn't work, that you yourself are inevitably going to be rousted from your position, and so you have to just sabotage everything to squeeze out a little for yourself
capitalism is basically like those hand-cart train-track things. The best strategy is to motivate the guy on the other side to push as hard as he can, but you're BOTH getting to your destination regardless of who worked harder, even if the guy in front gets there a little earlier.
what modern executives do is the result of government overregulation creating a mini commie state. You have no faith that anything can succeed, you see bombs on the tracks everywhere, so you don't care if you're laying additional bombs yourself. Then it all comes crashing down and you pretend you don't know how that could have happened. It's not a viable long-term moneymaking tactic, and it's kinda hilarious that dumbass modern kids think that's what capitalism is. no fucking wonder 1% of them grow up to be this kind of executive
Karoshi
That’s stupid. Let’s get one thing clear: greed is the issue. If capitalism/communism functioned free of greed, there’d be no problem.
Japs and asians in general will slave their asses off, all in the name of making their country look good. Americans don't give a shit about each other because we are highly divided. As a result, we only care about money and making ourselves as individuals look good. Asians care about the community and family, Americans care about "me myself and I".
It's a sad shame that controls like copyrights were put in place with the intention of protecting creativity and ingenuity, but were quickly manipulated to fuck over the exact same people they're supposed to protect. Greed will drive a man to fuck over the greater good if it means just he and his breed get to suck up all the wealth and power. How many executives get to sit around and play golf all day while raking in six to seven figures a year, while the actual content creators suffer to appease them in exchange for just a slim chance of success? Capitalism depends on a meritocracy to flourish. That's not what we have.
Because if any deserved it, it's Plastic Man
This.
>why is it that japanese people can make decent animation without bitching about price, but westerners can't?
Slavery, mostly.
>The best strategy is to motivate the guy on the other side to push as hard as he can, but you're BOTH getting to your destination regardless of who worked harder, even if the guy in front gets there a little earlier.
This just seems like it would lead to people prodding each other to work as hard as possible while doing as little as they can get away with themselves. Only the truly driven actually get anything done while everyone else rides on their coattails.
Wat..... that's a thing? that's real?
Executives are under the impression that stupid sells with kids. And they're kind of right.
This. It would help if American studio execs and producers weren't getting overpaid like said
To be fair, even the Japanese outsource their animation to Korea nowadays.
I feel like Cuphead is the closest we'll ever come to well-animated passion projects again
Cuphead was kind of ugly though.
>It's greed
Not even, not even about greed. It's about ego and stupidity and sabotaging for the sake of sabotage.
Why is CN's scheduling handled the way it is compared to before 2007?
Why are talentless hacks allowed to work and not banned from the industry?
Why aren't more decent cartoons aired on popular channels like CN?
Why is an executive not even allowing talented people to work on the script and do their job properly without him butting in, ordering everyone around and actively sabotaging his own product?
What money and popularity is there to be made out of this?
I bet that these sabotaging incompetent morons would stubbornly try to piss off everyone even if it meant their death through a terrorist attack, because they're nothing but prideful incompetent rednecks who enjoy wallowing in shit. I know these people, I know how they think, I know how they can be just as dumb and malicious as a badly born 5 year old.
Notice how Star Vs threads are full of fanboys not because of the show's written behaviour/style, but because it's popular. It has people discussing it because it's aired on CN, a very popular channel even a caveman can afford and has heard of.
Meanwhile nobody has ever heard of Fangbone. It isn't discussed not because it isn't good enough, but because it isn't popular enough. Popularity serves as a potential tapper, not a giver. The quality of a show is 50% of its potential in terms of how many want to discuss it.
CN hates cartoons they have to split with another company.
>would have been better than teen titans go
Yes, but it wouldn't have been as successful or cheap to produce and TTG.
And thats the thing, they had a budget they could air SU, RG, Gumbal and AT in addition of TTG that was a low investment or cut funding in one of the other projects to air a full series and risk it flop.
So of course they decided to greenlit the show that was animated on flash.
>Star Vs
>CN
did i miss some news because i thought that was only on disney
I want more shorts
It's the main reason shows get cancelled.
because of pic related
bingo. but everyone still gets everywhere
the alternative is communism where everyone equally does nothing and nobody goes anywhere. For god's sake, the steam engine is called the 'difference engine' for a reason. inequality is what moves things.
Expensive shows like this need a toyline to back it up.
And toys of girl superheroes don't sell.
>Star Vs Fangbone
Don't mind him. It's just some salty fag who incoherently ranting because his dumb show got overshadowed.
DC Girls?
>why is it that japanese people can make decent animation without bitching about price
They can't. Most anime has terrible static animation
He doesn't mean it sincerely. It's the lie executives tell themselves in order to not give higher funding. Anything with Princesses and shit sells like hotcakes.
