I kind of like OK KO better than SU.

White nerd question for Black nerds: What do members of your family think of you being a nerd?

The gender pay gap is a myth

I imagine the same thing your family thinks of you being one: as long as you have friends and a job your hobbies are are whatever.

My mom is indifferent and is too busy with her crystal vibrational healing and her war against GMOs/flouride/whatever Oprah tells her to care much.

My sister is shares my interests but is deeper into anime and eastern culture than I am; she's been on a K-pop binge for a few years now and even taught herself some korean. Her boyfriend also shares our interests but he seems to enjoy cinema above all.

My dad thought most things I liked were childish and discouraged them but he's dead now so who gives a shit.

it's a misnomer, but it's not a myth

we don't live in a communist society where everyone can demand the exact same pay as everyone else regardless of experience, tenure, or work history and not everyone is the same individual, so there's bound to be differences in pay
don't like it? off yourself

Most black families are welcoming of their children being nerds for the most part. It means they're not interested in gang bullshit and are most likely not getting a girl pregnant in high school.

Contrary to the popular belief, black people just want their kids to be successful in life. Being a nerd triples that success because they're not likely to be out and about either getting shot by gang members for wearing the wrong color or getting shot by cops for being a black guy that's taller than them. This is also double for black girl nerds since it's not likely they'll get pregnant in high school.

Most black families are ok with nerdy shit as long as you're not gay.

Also X-Men/DBZ/Kung-Fu films seem to be stupidly popular, probably for obvious cultural reasons

I'm latino, don't make me go full liveleak on you
