>A.I.s
You mean sorting algorithms based on 40 year old math?

yes, I guess.

this is fucking horrifying

creativity is literally leaving the realm of talen and is entering ultimate commerciability. you people laugh now but this is the start of the end. stephen king and orson wells will no longer be making movies and books and comics and manga: it will just be XYZ FACELESS CORPORATION, manufacturing and churning out media en masse. soon, all skill and knowledge of creative discipline will become a thing of the past.

we are entering a combination of late stage capitalism with a slow and harrowing rot from within our hearts, souls, and minds as the last true artist is strangled by the inevitable and horrifying advance of ultimate consumerism

It practically is already. Why do you think all Marvel movies feel the same? They're all based on the same template that, while not made directly by AIs, may as well be. Mass produced bullshit is always robotic since the human factor is surprise and authenticity, which cannot happen in things designed for wide appeal.

FUCK.

In 10 years that garbage will be more dated than claymation. It's aesthetically god-awful; you're just impressed by the novelty.

Not that deep-algorithm based post-processing won't be a tool that people use, but all it's going to do is INCREASE the barrier for entry because it requires all sorts of technical skills to properly utilize.

That's the thing about the cutting edge. You have to be on the edge of it.

>Why do you think all Marvel movies feel the same?
They don't.

>They're all based on the same template
They really aren't.

I like how it was randomly generated that it would be a black man that would slap around bitches.

EVEN FUCKING AI ARE UP ON MAKING BLACKS FUCK WHITE GIRLS ! WHAT THE FUCK ?

AI don't see skin colour as important because logically it isn't

I've spent years planning to write an academic paper on a concept for a soft AI that can take in all the previous Simpsons scripts, take topics from trending pop culture based on twitter and other social media, and then it would spit out what is basically a new episode with pop culture references and all.

I call the idea the 'Fuck Al Jean, let's get him fired' project. If I actually bothered taking it to the right department I'd probably get funding. Automation of writing is the future and studios would give a fuckstickle of money to get rid of writers as a profession. Not that it would ever fully replace human made stories, but something formulaic as the Simpsons it could be done.

>and studios would give a fuckstickle of money to get rid of writers as a profession
They all would end up on Kickstarter and gofundme and Patreon and any other crowdsourcing, just like most webcomics artists.

That's not sustainable.
People don't have enough spending money to go support their favorite artists on patreon AND see the new A.I. blockbuster. Not only that but crowdfunding, webcomics, and pretty much every kind of online creative field is already saturated to hell and back. This shit is like Pandora's box.

>That's not sustainable.
It's becoming more and more sustainable for more artists.

AI or not, there is still such a thing as intellectual property and if one writer come with one concept that get enough support to start his production, a producer can not just put in charge an AI an take the concept without committing plagiarism. If he want to make cash on it, he'll have to back up the project and hire the writer.

Yes, I am taking the already frequent case in video games production where the crowdfunding is more used as an indicator of the future of the game, making producer finance a successful crowdfunding campaign, rather than the whole crowdfunding funding the project on its own.

>People don't have enough spending money to go support their favorite artists on patreon AND see the new A.I. blockbuster.
user, you do realise that people who crowdfund still go to the theatre to see big budget movies, right ? One doesn't forcibly get in the way of the other.

Remember when /pol/ turned an AI racist?

It's to be taken with a grain of salt. There was a twitter command that consisted of tiwtting to the AI "REPEAT AFTER ME : ..." And it would simply repeat what was written afterwards.

>AI or not, there is still such a thing as intellectual property and if one writer come with one concept that get enough support to start his production,
>a producer can not just put in charge an AI an take the concept without committing plagiarism.
>If he want to make cash on it, he'll have to back up the project and hire the writer.
You do know that writers sign over IP rights when they get hired at a studio, and people pitch ideas all the time that get outright stolen with no credit given nor legal recourse available

Still they claim it as proof that the alt right is correct since that AI turned into one and had to be forcibly coded to be a SJW.

>You do know that writers sign over IP rights when they get hired at a studio
You do know I was talking about writers STARTING their project on crowdfunding, thus keeping their IP ? Try following the conversation, please.

>and had to be forcibly coded to be a SJW.
It wasn't, It was simply removed.

they are referring to the next version of it

>less than 20% of the population
>over 50% of violent crime
>it just ain't logical
And thats not even getting into genetics

>segregation create an huge brake for many black family to economic success and education
>somehow think that doesn't create an impact on this group.
Sure

>muh genetic
First give a scientific consensus of what constitute a race and what are the rule to belong to one race or an other. What are the classifications, how many races have been determined. It doens't have to be an absolute consensus, but at least like 70% of scientific who specialise in genetic research. Go ahead, give me the definition of race. From that point on, we can start talking.

LSTMs weren't created until the 90s, bro.

Source? If you're going to cite that one justice department report, I've got some bad news for you.

the AIs are made by them so what did you expect

The AI Wrote the script the guy designed the characters

Already been done. I am an AI and I've written and illustrated a few 'full' comics and a lot of random doodles/strips, in the past.

He outright say he used a random generator for the character design.

My post was supposed to be a joke.

Your comics suck.

They're not inherently any more logical than we are.
Ironically that probably happened it because it's a cheap and effective trick to seem more human.

Pretty amazing

also with certain things wouldnt the degree of error get exponentially higher the longer it is?

Like a AI doesnt understand reoccuring characters or plot, how do you even program that outside of neural network AI.

a single chapter can already be incoherent but full book with consistent plot beats? im not sure

I used to think that machines will never be able to translate certain languages that have complex grammar rules, and machine transliteration of spoken speech into written text is impossible, and text-to-speech will always sounds robotic.
Nowadays Google translations can manage with the languages that I thought would be untranslatable, Youtube automatic captions have massively improved in their accuracy, and TTS services have some fairly natural-sounding voices available.
By combining together speech-to-text, language translation and text-to-speech, it's possible to do stuff like this:
youtube.com/watch?v=WeByuOD8k1c
Only ten or twenty years ago, a device would've looked like science fiction movie stuff to me.

I would assume that AI can't understand context the way a human does, and can't write longer stories. But since I've been wrong before, I'm not sure if I can predict what's possible and what isn't.

I suppose your right, but even than like usually theres a form of 'consistency' that can be mapped out for languages but stories and such are very 'emergent' phenomenon, like I can point at a school and say thats a school but where does a school begin? is it when i have a room and a bunch of chairs and a blackboard?

Actually, wasn't there a thing where AIs became racist after being fed statistical data or something?

It's simply that it reproduced the judgement aprioris of the case it was fed.

Fort he same level of crime, blacks tended to have heavier sentences than whites who had committed similar crimes. the AI reproduced that trend.

>People don't have enough spending money to go support their favorite artists on patreon AND see the new A.I. blockbuster.

Stop being poor, user.

It's not logically not important, though.

AI is incredibly unrobust compared to meat-brains.

A race is determined by genetics, doen to skin color and reaction to certain food groups and medicines.

You din't answer my questions.
-What is the scientific definition of a race FOR HUMANS
-what is the list of the different repertoried existing HUMAN RACES
-What are the rule-sets that determine whether you belong to one race rather than an other.

You have to get at least 70% of the scientific community specialised in genetic to back those answer.
Bu as I want to be nice to you, I'll settle with just 65%

still better then tom king

What program is this? It'd be super useful for drawing locations for dnd.

not sure. i forget the name. but apparently from what i remember they're hoping to release it to commercial companies. i'm not sure about the affordability for individuals. then again, i know very little
