OH NO NO NO NO NO
I'm disgusted.
I don't even like the character and I never really did, but somehow I feel almost offended on this fictional character's behalf for how much they fucked her up in S3. Like as if the retard monster transformation thing wasn't enough, now she's living a scenario straight out of some horrible infantilism fan fic.
Character had a certain degree of dignity at one point that the storyline itself eventually just shit all over, to an extent that you can't really claim about the other characters, no matter how bad anything else in the show got, because at least they weren't LITERALLY REGRESSED INTO BABIES MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK THEY WERE THINKING
and so on. I don't even know, man, for some reason Heinous more than anyone, as in the S1 and S2 version of the character, comes off as the biggest victim of the later seasons' writing to me
boy they didnt know what the fuck they were doing
On top of looking like this, she ripped off Ponyheads horn
great episode
we could use more teen Meteora in this board
They should've gone full Stockman with her.
youtube.com
Or the Joshua route would've been fine too (pic related)
Joshua is the most fucked up shit in an otherwise tame show.
Oh sure, but it's okay when Shadow of the Colossus does it!
teen?
It's even more sad to someone that actually liked the character. Expecting her to, armed with this new revelation, to challenge the butterflies and by extension, the MCH as the true heir to the throne. Maybe gather the monsters under one banner and maybe do what S4 tried to do much better. But no that would be too hard to write so let's just make her a big dumb brute, infantilize her and stretch out what could've MAYBE been a 2 parter into a whole fucking half season and make the crazy one that jobbed to her the big bad through the most contrived means imaginable.
We didn't get to see enough of Wander's past to get a comparison. If we had gotten that amazingly written movie though, we would have.
Absolutely based, she's hot like that
kek
W-what were those large men going to do to him?
Just imaging how fucked up this character is.
Goes from living their life as a repressed headmistress, to getting the realization that your life was a lie and you never knew your mother, then going apeshit and power-hungry only to meet your mother , then getting regressed to a baby that doesn't have the memories but subconsciously knows things, to THEN surviving as teenager with only one friend in the wilderness, to THEM regressing back to a baby with more subconscious memories of THAT life.
Jesus Christ, how fucked up is Meteora?
This might be her base form seeing how she looks as a teen. And yes, this and teen Meteora are hot.
She's lived three lifetimes.
>LITERALLY REGRESSED INTO BABIES MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK THEY WERE THINKING
oh look somebody's got mad over children's cartoons. how original.
Why?
Fuck that movie, Argo is a stolen horse he just had for like a week in that script.
Been turned into a baby is really fucked up if you think about it. The old Heinous "died" all her memories everything she was was erased, and a baby was left behind. Nobody would cry or feel pity for her tragic life because they consider the baby a second life. When in reality its a different person that just happen to be made with the same flesh.
Dying and then coming back alive to live life over again is basically what reincarnation is, except you actually know it's the same person instead of just guessing where they've been reincarnated at any point on the planet.
Reincarnating is no more a strange concept than going to an ethereal plane, turning into a ghost that wanders the Earth, or simply never existing anymore.
Took less effort to change her into a different character than to write an arc that involved defeating her.
because Eclipsa needs her perfect family.
Also never tell Glogbor why the fuck his daughter is still a baby after 300 years
>because Eclipsa needs her perfect family.
didnt she already have star as a daughter figure?
At least with the other options you are still you, Reincarnation sounds like soul recycling thin about this once you melt a plastic bottle and make a new one can you really say is the same bottle?
I'd rather be born again repeatedly with memory loss and continue to be on Earth basically until the Earth gets eaten by the Sun than either not exist or have my consciousness but am unable to interact with any of my loved ones.
Really I'm more exaggerating to make a point at how fucked I find the basic concept of the canon infantilizing than actually "mad." More than anything I was just tired of S4 than angry.
But I mean, once I did really like this children's cartoon so I guess it can go the other direction too.
>ept you actually know it's the same person instead of just guessing where they've been reincarnated at any point on the planet.
>Reincarnating is no more a strange concept than going to an ethereal plane, turning into a ghost that wanders the Earth, or simply never existing anymore.
Only you don't reincarnate, you die and your organic matter is repurposed into an entirely new organism. Take for example the Xenomorphs who place their prey into eggs as a means of chemically altering every aspect of their organic matter until the prey becomes another xenomorph, that person wasn't turned into a xenomorph mind you, their matter was just converted into one. It's not a reversible process. You wouldn't say that that person reincarnated as a xenomorph would you?
I had sort of complained about this as far back as just Monster Bash, that I was afraid they were going to make Heinous just "Meteora" and turn her into a different character. Especially when the promos for the latter half of the season came out and showed the flashback from Skooled to her as a baby; I said it seemed like they were just focusing too much on her being a poor baby who was treated badly in the past and trying to make her appeal to the audience by being "cute" (because Heinous is an ugly withered old hag), rather than showing how Heinous was affected in the present. And some anons were just like "don't worry about it, it's not like they're turning her into a baby permanently."
None of us knew just how right we were.
And this too. I wish Eclipsa had more of a reaction to how she had literally killed her daughter, if they insist on the baby concept, or that Star and Marco would have more of a reaction beyond "so cute ^^"
Like even if you got your fucking baby back, age regression is a WEIRD situation that I feel like even in a world of magic should get a bit more of a reaction out of people.
Her best was when she was a teenager in the Neverzone with Mariposa.
Funny.
La Bruja del 71?
I'm more impressed that somehow she has more development than Star and don't get me started with Eclipsa
Star was kind of getting some development becoming the responsible adult trying to make Eclipsa a responsible queen. After the coronation they ignored whatever they where building up with those two.
No she doesn't.
did eclipsa even want the throne back or did she just accept it because it was star giving it too her? star wasnt exactly in the best place to be queen given all the shit that happened with moon around that time.
The mix of Monstergirl and Uptight-gone-wild is unlocking a waifuism in me I didn't know I had. Really wish they did one more episode with her in some sort of older form in Season 4.
People still mourn someone who died even if they believe the soul is reincarnated somewhere.
At first it came off like she just accepted it and in some lines like her shitty song on The Ponyhead Show she's playing it off like it was just suddenly forced on her, but then she gets pretty damn defensive of it when people try to take it away from her, demands shit like a coronation, and uses her position to make her monster slaves decorate the monster temple with paintings and sculptures of herself, so I think she did want it even if she wouldn't outright admit it (or what the writers portrayed conflicts with what they intended).
To me it really comes off like Eclipsa somewhat took advantage of Star's confused/vulnerable state to take power/enjoy the luxury that comes with it, but of course the show would never explore that because it'd make Eclipsa look less than perfectly good and kind.
It seem she was trying to be the "Queen of monsters" but at the same time it was clear she wasn't doing a good job at it, neglecting the Spiderbites or kicking people from their homes to die in the woods. It was clear she was more interest in reuniting her family.
i mean, i get that she rolled with it later on, but at the start it seemed like she just accepted it out of pity
It didn't even come off to me that she was accepting more than the wand at the end of S3, so I can't really say there. Looked more like Star was giving it away out of pity to me.
But then by the first episode of S4 there's already an Eclipsa statue up, so she sure got comfortable with the position fast.
>mom dad and boyfreind getting their souls sucked out of them
why she wasnt absolutely devastated is beyond me
Meteora went from a strict teacher, an insane person obsessed after Marco destroyed her school, to a actual ex-princess Butterfly after the reveal that she was half-monster and wanted the throne back, and reborn as a baby.
Star? she got heartbroken after a situation she put herself in and later fucked over Marco, after Toffee attacked she decided to become a better princess but didn't mattered because she passed the responsibility to Eclipsa, oh and she destroyed the magic i guess.
Reminder that the show has never explained:
>how Meteora who shunned her magical side via brainwashing found out how to suck the youth from princesses to keep herself alive
>the creepy art at St. Olga's. Were they repressed memories that she had to get carved into stone? Surely she would have remembered her parents before random monsters and let us forget that she was only a few months old at her abduction
>why Meteora instinctively knows how to suck souls
>why Eclipsa's spell didn't kill but turned Meteora into an infant
>how Mina knew about Meteora
I've accepted the fact that we will never get these explanations amongst other things, but it still rankles.
Her execution at the end of S3 would've been an adequate conclusion for her. And might've saved us from steering towards the Eclipsa, her hellspawn child, and her Dindu Husband usurp the show for the final season path we ended up on.
The Meteora shit doesn't even feel like development to me, just 3-4 different characters.
I can kind of accept Miss Heinous becoming obsessed with Marco as development, but Meteora attacking the kingdom could just be replaced with any stupid cartoon monster a la Ludo's S1 army and baby Meteora is just a generic cartoon baby. It doesn't feel like natural development.
Star's development wasn't great, but at least it didn't just suddenly jump from stage to stage between episodes like this is Pokémon and she's evolving or some shit.
Fair, only because each season especially 3&4 feels like a different cartoon, especially after Eclipsa somehow became the most important character.
Honestly sometimes I wonder if it was a mistake to have season finales like Storm the Castle and Face the Music/Starcrossed if the show had absolutely no intention of ever adhering to conventional (read: sincere) storytelling.
Needed some bait to keep interest before realizing shippingbait was easier to write.
Looking at majority of SvtFoE episodes - the ones people tend to ignore or forget - it's actually clear the core of the writing is literally just absurd dadaism. The series finale entertaining total genocide and universal segregation as a joke is just an apex of that.
I thought this was a Wander over Yonder script at first, and was very confused.
got a sauce for that?
>sharp teeth
God yes. Fuck Nefcy, you ruined her with that bullshit giant mong and baby shit
Lol
>MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK THEY WERE THINKING
Probably that it'd be cool to reference the end of Sailor Moon S with Hotaru getting turned into a baby and growing up again.
It wasn't.
Why are you surprised by misplaced character favoritism, OP?
Not all of Heinous disappeared when she reverted apparently, since she had an inexplicable hatred of Marco.
Why... Why did that seemingly normal guy suffer what looks to be a punishment only a world actively seeking to hurt him would allow? Why did this happen to him?
Hey! Leave Wander out of this.
One thing Nefcy does is take joke villains like Heinous, Ludo and Mina and make them into proper fully fledged villains while the serious one like Toffee get shafted.
Mina in S1 was a joke, Heinous and Ludo too.
No one thought of Mina as a villain till mid-season three, just some wacky lady Star looked up to. Also Heinous went downhill in the seriousness department before she ramped back up into something fierce.
There is nothing wrong with AR2Baby. Though it would've been better if it happened to a girl other than Meteora. Was half-expecting it to happen to Mina somehow.
It beats being erased from existence.
Why did she lose her mole?!
Shut your whore fucking mouth, . Baby fucker.
I love her so much and she only got half an episode it's not fair boys
Thats the thing you are erased from existence. Her body lives but her mind, personality and memories cease.
Villains in this series have a nice development.
i love when early seasons joke villains become serious villains in later seasons
It just struck me, if she lost her magic, she's just an ugly girl now.
You take that back, she's good looking weather or not she's got the magic
These two are the only reason I want a spin-off
unf
she still has her monster powers
What happened to the rest of her family after that episode? you would think they would be more pissed off if their dumb cousin abdicated the throne.
>Meteora and Marco never got to hatefuck in the Neverzone
that episode isn't canon
they were rich an lived in other countries for what we know.
they prob dont care or have any power to say anything.
Moringmark is making a comic right now.
why didn't he just change hair styles
He wants to remember what started it all
