I saw a fucking video in my recommendations with half a million views that was calling Fanboy and Chum Chum an 'underrated classic'.
Have Youtubers gotten that desperate?

Just zoomers
I saw this video a while ago. Didnt even show Vicky iirc, just some St Elsewhere theory type bullshit.
Why are so many people making """'video essays""" now?
Longer format so better for Youtube's algorithm. Allows them to grab people with clickbait title and spend over ten minutes explaining themselves. Most of them are negative so they rag on something everyone hates and want to watch it or hating something people like and getting those rage clicks.
It's especially egregious when the narrator is obviously padding for time. The guy at Star Wars Reading Club sometimes repeats himself four or five times just to get to the 10 minute mark.
The best way to hide this is to talk slowly and read larger parts of source material. The old method is to do skits or random side things. They're the most popular but usually take the most effort to do.
>look up how to do one thing in the Sims 4 months ago
>get a countless Sims related videos since
>Signaled/Not interrested
>Tell us why: it's shit and the guy who make that shit is gay as fuck.
>Okay we won't be showing you that gay shit again
Are you new around here?
and by "here" I mean this world.
